Monrovia High Track Star Runs Tomorrow (Aug. 4) in Olympics
Monrovia High alumnus and track and field athlete Cravon Gillespie will compete in the 4x100 relay on Wednesday, Aug. 4.

Team USA says (https://is.gd/SM12Vn) Gillespie coached youth football for the Pasadena Ponies for nine years, which is the same youth football team he played for growing up, and his hobbies include bowling and making people laugh.

Monrovia High Students Create Game App for Apple Devices; District Hopes for New Clifton Principal In a 'Few Weeks'
Monrovia High School's Digital Studies Academy game development team, "The Forge," recently released its latest game, Andy's Donuts. available for download on Apple devices. The game, which challenges users to fill customer orders by getting the donuts in the donut box was largely developed by students working remotely under the leadership of teacher Anthony Carlson. Opinion: I downloaded the game: Graphics are beautiful and the instructions are clear - a fun little activity.
The candidate selected in July as principal of Clifton Middle School declined the position for personal reasons but Superintendent Ryan D. Smith says, "We hope to have a new principal selected within the next few weeks." In the meantime, retired administrator Mari Bordona, will serve as interim principal.

The adoption fee for dogs is $150. All dog adoptions include spay or neuter, microchip, and age-appropriate vaccines.
New adopters will receive a complimentary health-and-wellness exam from VCA Animal Hospitals, as well as a goody bag filled with information about how to care for your pet.

~ Consider approving the revised Chick-fil-A and Starbucks plan to develop the former Claim Jumper restaurant site on Huntington Drive after Chick-fil-A exceeded the requests by the City Council at its previous meeting.
