  1. Disappointed to see them use this AI-generated garbage

Saw lots of comments on the Facebook about little details that are wrong they should change. Well guess what you can't do that with? AI-generated images that you can't actually go back and edit because you don't have the actual files other than a flattened JPEG

Sure, this might look decent just casually looking at it, but if you start looking closely there are tons of details that don't line up (the shape of the building, the sign not having posts, the spacing of the letters, the lines on the road, I could go on...)

AI-content has a place (like I don't object to Brad using the one for the job listing posts for example) but this is a public department—maybe run a contest local artists could submit to instead?

  2. After looking at it closely you are absolutely correct. Pretty poorly done

  3. I don’t personally care that it’s AI generated (though the city should expect that many do), but it’s so *obviously* so and atrocious design at that. Embarrassing.

  4. I count 12 police employees with compensation exceeding $200k in 2023. Seems like they could have afforded a graphic designer to at least take a look. https://publicpay.ca.gov/Reports/Cities/City.aspx?entityid=211&year=2023&rpt=1

  5. It will be interesting to see the Police Department response when some of their union jobs are replaced by AI. I promise they will be up in arms about it. "One Way" this is so lame.

  6. One way? That message upholds the worst attitudes of police.
