Monrovia city finances healthy, auditor gives city clean bill of health

At its next meeting (agenda here) the Monrovia City Council will receive a staff report that says the 2023‑24 audit shows that, "Overall, Monrovia ended the year in a positive financial position."

The city's total assets rose 5.5 percent, up to $48.3 million despite the drag of pension costs. It received more money from property and hotel bed taxes. "The City’s auditors, Lance Soll & Lunghard, LLP, issued an unmodified ('clean') opinion on the City’s financial statements, which is the best opinion the City can receive from its auditors."

Details.
