Calm Kira - couch potato and adventure buddy

Kira is a 4-year-old Malinois mix with a calm, gentle spirit. This soulful girl is a perfect blend of couch potato and adventure buddy — content to lounge around the house but always up for a good walk or a romp at the dog park (where she's a total social butterfly!). She's house-trained, crate-trained, and low maintenance, making her an easy companion for a variety of home environments.

While Kira can be a little leash-reactive around other dogs and very enthusiastic about squirrels, she's been working on her training and improving every day. Off-leash at the park, she's all charm and grace with other dogs. She adores people — including kids — but sometimes forgets her size in her eagerness to say hello. She's not a barker, loves a good cuddle, and has a sweet, quiet way of making you feel like the center of her world.

If you're looking for a laid-back, loyal, and loving companion with just enough quirk to keep life interesting, Kira might just be your perfect match. Come meet this beautiful girl — she’s ready to steal your heart.

The adoption fee for dogs is $150. All dog adoptions include spay or neuter, microchip, and age-appropriate vaccines.

Walk-in adoptions are available every day from 10:00 – 5:00. View photos of adoptable pets at pasadenahumane.org.

New adopters will receive a complimentary health-and-wellness exam from VCA Animal Hospitals, as well as a goody bag filled with information about how to care for your pet.

Pets may not be available for adoption and cannot be held for potential adopters by phone calls or email.

Pro snuggler Momo is a master of 'sit,' when he wants to sit ...

Momo is a 3-year-old, tall and dashing adventurer who's ready to be your loyal sidekick! Momo is a Chow mix, and despite the fluffy coat, he “only” weighs about 65 pounds.

Momo's got personality! He’s sweet and affectionate, and he’s even been described as “a pro snuggler”. While he can be a little nervous with strangers, he warms up very quickly, especially when he’s getting tasty snacks.

He’s also very quick to show off the tricks he’s learned - he's a master at “sit” (when he wants to sit, that is). He’s also learning “shake,” but it seems like he’s just in a hurry to get back to one of his new favorite activities - splashing in the pool!

When he’s not splashing around, he enjoys going on hikes and long walks, and exploring the outdoors. He’s always up for a game of fetch and if you’re lucky enough, he’ll even bring the toy back to you.

Momo has had experience living with other dogs, so he might be a good companion for a similar-sized buddy.

Whether lounging by your side or exploring the outdoors, Momo will bring joy, loyalty, and a touch of goofy charm into your life. He’ll even help keep you cool on a hot day. Ready for an adventurous, affectionate companion? Momo’s your guy!

City Council to consider hiring company to resurface Mountain and Peck, fix sidewalks, and add trees: Budget update: city finances stable but uncertainty in broader economy

At its next meeting (agenda here) the Monrovia City Council will ...

~ Consider hiring All American Asphalt to resurface much of Mountain Avenue and Peck Road, plus: construct 22 new tree wells and plant 18 new trees along Peck Road and 4 new trees along Mountain; replace 900 square feet of sidewalk along Peck and Myrtle and nearly 900 square feet along Mountain; and replace the traffic signal at Mountain and Lemon and install "traffic calming" and pedestrian improvements at the intersection. The company would be paid $4,373,848.18 and there would be a contingency amount of up to $437,385 in case of unexpected expenses.

~ Receive a 2024-25 budget update, which reports that while "the City remains in a stable financial position, uncertainty persists in the broader economy." Specifically, potential tariffs, federal funding freezes, closures of federal buildings and operations, and possible layoffs of federal staff. Staff report says, "Overall, most City revenues remain stable and are showing modest growth. However, sales tax revenues continue to trend downward, particularly due to reduced revenue from new vehicle purchases. Given the City's strong fiscal foundation, it is well-positioned to remain flexible and adapt to changing economic conditions." Details
