Monrovia Police Search for Information on Groping Incident

On Thursday, January 2nd, 2025, at approximately 8:05 a.m., officers responded to a report of sexual battery at a business in the 400 block of W. Huntington Dr.

A store employee reported that a male suspect groped her as he walked past her in the store. The suspect was described as a white male between 30 and 40 years old, wearing a gray beanie, a brown hooded sweater, light brown pants, and black running shoes.

Officers reviewed security footage and collected evidence. Shortly thereafter, officers received a report of a theft at another nearby business. Upon arrival, they located an individual matching the description of the suspect from the earlier incident.

The suspect was positively identified for the sexual battery, arrested and booked into the Monrovia Police Department jail. He is currently in custody at the Los Angeles County - Inmate Reception Center, awaiting his court appearance scheduled for Monday, January 6, 2025.

If you have information about this incident, please contact the Monrovia Police Department at (626) 256-8000.

Cops arrest man who thought he’d just get a citation

Monrovia Police made a video of them arresting a guy who was not aware that Proposition 36 had changed the law. No longer can thieves get away with just getting a ticket. Facebook video here.

If you don’t have access to Facebook here’s a bit of the dialog…

Cop: Dude, laws are changing, man. Two convictions, you’re gonna be a keeper now, dude.

Suspect: Do you think I’m getting cited out?

Cop: Nope, probably not. You’re probably going to go to county, just to be honest.

S: Why’s that?

C: It’s a felony charge now. You already have a prior. … You know people used to get cited and released? That’s not happening anymore, dude. You got used to that, dude. That’s the problem, dude.

S: I’m going to county?

C: More than likely. It sucks, huh?

S: The only reason I’d like to get cited out, because, you know, the mayor’s inside program. If I miss any [more?] they’re going to kick me out of my hotel room.

C: That was your decision, man. You should have thought about that twice.

Vibrant Juliet needs a family to embrace her energetic personality

Juliet is a strikingly unique 1-year-old Husky mix with a personality as vibrant as her appearance! Independent and playful, Juliet is looking for a home that embraces her energetic spirit and strong-willed nature. She loves to chew and would thrive with plenty of toys to keep her mind and body busy.

Though she’s a little reserved when meeting new people, with patience and gentle guidance, Juliet warms up to show her sweet and affectionate side. She’s a smart girl who’s eager to learn but will need some training to channel her excitement and become the well-mannered companion she’s meant to be.

Recently, Juliet had a fun outing with the Pasadena Humane mobile team, where she greeted visitors and spent time with other dogs. She enjoyed several walks, made a few select human friends (rewarding them with kisses and cuddles), and even had a playful romp with another dog. After her adventures, she calmly returned to the shelter, ready to rest after a full day of fun.

If you’re ready to provide Juliet with the love, structure, and playtime she craves, she’s ready to become your loyal and lively companion. Could you be her perfect match?

Juliet and all other dogs and cats will have their adoption fees reduced by $100 from January 1 – 12 during the Welcome Home adoption promotion at Pasadena Humane.

The normal adoption fee for dogs is $150. All dog adoptions include spay or neuter, microchip, and age-appropriate vaccines.

Walk-in adoptions are available every day from 2:00 – 5:00. For those who prefer, adoption appointments are available daily from 10:30 – 1:30 and can be scheduled online. View photos of adoptable pets at pasadenahumane.org.

New adopters will receive a complimentary health-and-wellness exam from VCA Animal Hospitals, as well as a goody bag filled with information about how to care for your pet.

Pets may not be available for adoption and cannot be held for potential adopters by phone calls or email.
