City Council to consider ordinance to allow higher density housing for projects with affordable units
At its next meeting (agenda here) the City Council will consider a Density Bonus Ordinance that would allow developers who include affordable units - very low, low, or moderate income - to build more housing than current zoning allows, in some cases as many as twice the number of units. The ordinance also sets lower parking requirements (to match state requirements) and requires long-term affordable housing agreements so affordable units remain lower priced for 55 years for rental units and 45 years for owned units. The proposed change is required to bring Monrovia zoning into compliance with state law. Details.

Again the city leaders don't care about quality of life. All they care about are more tax dollars to line their pockets. The city services have declined. No more fire inspections, sidewalk repairs, street slurring, tree trimming, the list goes on and on while they just keep taxing and allowing crap to be built without any parking. Extremely crazy!
