Theft From a Vehicle
February 7 at 12:25 p.m., a resident in the 800 block of Oakglade called to report that her purse was stolen from her unlocked vehicle. The suspect then attempted to use the victim’s credit cards to purchase merchandise in neighboring cities, but was unsuccessful. The investigation is continuing.
Non-Injury Traffic Collision / Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
February 7 at 7:27 p.m., a caller reported that a vehicle had collided into two parked cars and then parked along the curb near the intersection of Lemon and Shamrock. Officers responded and found the driver was intoxicated. They conducted an investigation for driving under the influence and the driver was arrested for DUI.
Non-Injury Traffic Collision
February 7 at 7:40 p.m., a caller reported that a motorist traveling north in the 100 block of N. Myrtle collided into a parked vehicle. Officers arrived and contacted the driver, who was not injured. The owner of the parked vehicle was located and a report was taken.
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspect Arrested
February 8 at 5:54 p.m., a resident in the 800 block of Bonita called to report a male subject loitering in the area. Officers contacted the subject, and a consensual search revealed a pipe for smoking methamphetamine in his possession. He was arrested for the paraphernalia and released with a citation to appear in court on the charge.
Hit & Run Traffic Collision
February 8 at 6:28 p.m., a hit and run traffic collision was reported in the 600 block of Linwood. The victim was walking on Linwood when a vehicle began reversing and slightly struck him. The vehicle drove away without making contact with the victim. The victim complained of pain, but refused medical treatment. Investigation continuing.
Attempt Burglary
February 9 at 8:42 a.m., a resident in the 400 block of Prospect called to report an attempted burglary at his home. When he woke in the morning, he saw a notification on his Ring Doorbell from 12:38 a.m. He viewed it and saw that an unknown male subject had rushed his door in an attempt to break it down. When it did not break, the suspect ran back to a waiting vehicle, which fled the area. Investigation continuing.
Warrants / Possession of Narcotics – Suspect Arrested
February 9 at 10:20 a.m., an officer was on patrol in the 1800 block of Tenth when he saw a subject on a bicycle commit a traffic violation. A stop was conducted and a computer check revealed the subject had outstanding warrants for his arrest. The subject was arrested for the warrants, and during a search of his person, he was also found to be in possession of methamphetamine, which was added to his charges.
No-Bail Warrant / Possession of a Controlled Substance / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspect Arrested
February 9 at 4:40 p.m., an officer was patrolling the area near Myrtle and Longden when he saw a suspicious vehicle. He ran a computer check on the vehicle, which revealed the registered owner had an outstanding warrant for his arrest and a no-bail warrant for drug sales. The officer initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle. The registered owner was driving the vehicle and was arrested for the warrants. The subject was also found to be in possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.
Non-Injury Traffic Collision
February 9 at 6:22 p.m., an officer was dispatched to a traffic collision in the 800 block of W. Huntington. A semi-truck and trailer hauling electricity poles was exiting the freeway with a follow safety vehicle. An SUV was also exiting the freeway and approached the turn at a high rate of speed, bypassing the follow safety vehicle. When both the truck and SUV were turning off the freeway, the poles on the trailer collided into the side rear window of the SUV. No one was injured and the party at fault was issued a citation.
Armed Robbery
February 9 at 6:57 p.m., a husband and wife were getting into their vehicle in the 600 block of W. Huntington, when they were approached by two male Black suspects on each side of the vehicle that demanded money. One of the suspects brandished a silver handgun, and the suspects took the wife's purse and the husband's wallet. The suspects fled in a white sedan. The husband's wallet was recovered down the street. The investigation is continuing.
Grand Theft
February 9 at 8:28 p.m., a grand theft was reported in the 1200 block of N. Canyon. The victim had parked his vehicle in the area and went for a run. He did not lock the vehicle. When he returned, his wallet and his wife's cell phone had been taken. He was later notified that his credit card was used at a business in Duarte. Investigation continuing.
Hit & Run Traffic Collision
February 9 at 10:45 p.m., a hit and run traffic collision was reported in the 800 block of W. Huntington. Two motorists were making a left turn from the freeway off-ramp onto Huntington. While they were turning, one of the vehicles sideswiped the other and then fled east on Huntington. The suspect vehicle was described as a gray SUV. Investigation continuing.
Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
February 10 at 2:35 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop for vehicle code violations. The officer found the driver to be intoxicated. An investigation was conducted for driving under the influence and the driver was arrested for DUI.
Commerical Burglary
February 10 at 10:47 a.m., an employee from a business in the 2100 block of S. Myrtle called police to report that four storage units had the locks cut off and the doors were open. Officers responded and determined the suspects gained entry to the property by pushing down the gate off of Peck Road. Investigation continuing.
Grand Theft Auto – Suspect Arrested
February 10 at 10:00 p.m., an officer located a stolen vehicle that was traveling north in the 2200 block of S. Myrtle. Officers stopped the vehicle and arrested the driver. The vehicle was reported stolen by the Los Angeles Police Department.
Grand Theft Auto – Suspect Arrested
February 11 at 6:58 a.m., a vehicle was reported stolen from a hotel parking lot in the 900 block of S. Fifth. The hotel guest walked outside in the morning and discovered someone had stolen his Chevrolet van. Officers had the vehicle entered into the stolen vehicle system, and several hours later, the vehicle was stopped by police in Covina. Covina officers arrested the driver for Grand Theft Auto.
Non-Injury Traffic Collision
February 11 at 7:08 a.m., a motorist reported that she had just collided with another vehicle in the 1600 block of S. Shamrock. Officers responded to investigate. No one was injured. After speaking with both parties, the driver at fault was issued a citation.
Shoplifting
February 11 at 8:42 a.m., an employee of a store in the 1600 block of S. Mountain reported a male subject just left their store with merchandise without paying. Officers responded and located the subject, but he jumped into the nearby wash area and fled. He had discarded the stolen merchandise, which was recovered and returned to the store. This investigation is continuing.
Violation of Court Order / Alcohol Offense
February 11 at 12:32 p.m., a resident in the 1200 block of S. Sherman reported her daughter was in her front yard drinking alcohol. The resident had an active restraining order against the subject. When officers arrived, the restrained person was gone. This investigation is continuing.
Non-Injury Traffic Collision
February 11 at 3:30 p.m., a motorist reported that he collided with another motorist at the intersection of Mayflower and Huntington. He reported no one was injured. Officers responded to investigate. Neither driver wanted a police report taken. They just wanted an officer to keep the peace while they exchanged information.
Trespassing / Obstructing Officers / Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance – Suspect Arrested
February 11 at 4:10 p.m., a resident in the 400 block of E. Los Angeles called police to report an unknown female subject that was standing on her front porch for no apparent reason. Officers arrived to speak with the subject, who immediately ran from the officers. The subject jumped fences and went into other private backyards. She was eventually apprehended and found to be under the influence of a controlled substance. She was taken to a nearby hospital for a medical condition. Charges will be filed with the District Attorney's Office.
Public Intoxication – Suspect Arrested
February 11 at 5:08 p.m., a caller reported a male and female subject in the 100 block of E. Lemon who appeared to be heavily intoxicated. Officers arrived and found the female subject was unable to walk without assistance and had fallen prior to police arrival. The male subject was also extremely intoxicated. Both were unable to care for their own safety and were arrested for public intoxication.
Violation of Court Order – Suspect Arrested
February 12 at 8:50 a.m., a resident in the 1200 block of Sherman called to report that her daughter was at the location in violation of an active restraining order. Officers arrived and located the daughter in the backyard of the property. The officers confirmed the restraining order and arrested the daughter.
Vehicle Burglary
February 12 at 4:45 p.m., a resident in the 600 block of N. Canyon called to report her vehicle had been broken into and a backpack that was left inside was taken. The suspect shattered the passenger front window to gain entry. Investigation continuing.
Violation of Court Ordered Probation / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspect Arrested
February 13 at 7:17 a.m., officers were taking a report at a business in the 100 block of W. Lemon when they observed a known subject in an alley in violation of his court ordered probation, restraining him from being near Library Park. He was also subject to search and was found to be in possession of a large amount of illegal fireworks and a glass pipe that had been used to smoke methamphetamine. He was arrested and taken into custody.
Non-Injury Traffic Collision
February 13 at 9:24 a.m., two vehicles collided into one another in the 700 block of W. Duarte. Officers responded and found both drivers were not injured. The drivers did not desire a collision investigation to be conducted and they exchanged information. The cause of the collision was found to be failure to yield to on-coming traffic from a stop sign.
Shoplifting / Warrant – Suspect Arrested
February 13, at 1:35 p.m., a shoplifting incident was reported at a business in the 1600 block of S. Mountain. A male subject left the store with merchandise without paying for the items. The investigation revealed where the subject worked, however, he was not at the location. Later in the day, officers returned to the suspect's place of work and located him. A computer check revealed he also had a warrant for his arrest. He was arrested and taken into custody. The stolen merchandise was recovered and returned to the store.

Threatening
January 31 at 11:49 a.m., an unknown male subject entered a business in the 900 block of W. Foothill and tried to make a purchase. The clerk recognized the subject as someone who has previously stolen merchandise from the business. The clerk told him he was not welcome. The subject then threatened the clerk by saying he would return and shoot the place up. At this time the male subject is unknown. Investigation continuing.
Battery/Possession of a Controlled Substance – Suspect Arrested
January 31 at 2:27 p.m., a mother reported that her son battered her in the 400 block of E. Lemon. Officers arrived and conducted an investigation. The son was arrested for battery, and during the booking process, was found to be in possession of prescription medication that did not belong to him. Possession of a controlled substance was added to his charges.
Battery
February 1 at 8:28 a.m., an officer was dispatched on the report of a battery incident in the 300 block of W. Huntington. A male and female subject were arguing over parking in a business parking lot. The argument continued into a local business and the female swung her fist at the male. The male reacted by punching the female and knocking her down. Officers arrived and completed an investigation. The female subject was taken to a local hospital. A report was completed and sent to the District Attorney’s office.
Violation of Court Order/Resisting a Peace Officer – Suspect Arrested
February 1 at 10:38 a.m., an officer was on patrol in the area of California and Cypress when he saw a known male subject riding a bicycle. The subject was in violation of a restraining order that prohibits him from being at the location. The officer confirmed the restraining order and initiated a traffic stop. The subject refused to stop until Cypress and Ivy and was uncooperative with the officer throughout the encounter. He was arrested for violation of the restraining order and resisting an officer.
Warrant/Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspect Arrested
February 1 at 12:08 p.m., an officer was patrolling the 500 block of W. Colorado and saw a female subject commit a vehicle code violation at the intersection of Mayflower and Colorado. A traffic stop was conducted and the subject was found to have a warrant for her arrest. She was also found to be in possession of used syringes. She was arrested and taken into custody.
Grand Theft
February 1 at 2:24 p.m., a grand theft was reported in the 600 block of W. Duarte Road. The victim checked on the status of a phone delivery and discovered it was marked delivered to his residence. The victim said he never received the package. He called the delivery service and received conflicting statements as to what happened to his package. Investigation continuing.
Criminal Threats – Suspect Arrested
February 1 at 4:58 p.m., a resident in the 200 block of Highland called police to report his brother was intoxicated and had disabled the phone lines to the home. He also made threats inside the residence. Officers arrived and conducted an investigation. The brother was arrested for making criminal threats.
Special Traffic Enforcement
On February 1 during school hours, officers conducted special traffic enforcement at several schools. They issued both warnings and citations to drivers violating traffic laws in the school zone areas.
Warrant – Suspect Arrested
February 1 at 7:42 p.m., a caller reported a male subject climbing out of a donation bin in the 1600 block of S. Myrtle. Officers responded and made contact with the subject. The subject had multiple warrants for his arrest. He was arrested and taken into custody.
Hit & Run Traffic Collision
February 1 at 8:48 p.m., multiple callers reported a traffic collision involving two vehicles at the intersection of Royal Oaks and Mountain. One of the vehicles attempted to flee the scene of the accident and collided into a light pole down the street. Officers arrived and searched for the driver, but he was not found in the vehicle. Investigation continuing.
Robbery
February 1 at 10:52 p.m., a robbery was reported at a residence in the 300 block of W. Foothill. A group of female subjects were leaving a party and were confronted by a group of male subjects in a black Range Rover, who were also leaving the party. One of the females leaned into one of the vehicle windows and a male subject in the vehicle grabbed her phone. The vehicle was driven away and the victim sustained scrapes on her legs from falling on the asphalt. Officers arrived and searched for the suspect vehicle, but it was not located. The investigation is continuing.

February 2 at 2:08 a.m., a caller reported that a vehicle had collided into multiple parked cars and then pulled over and parked along the curb, near the intersection of Cypress and Magnolia. Officers arrived and checked the area. The driver was located a block away and was found to be intoxicated. Officers conducted an investigation, and the driver was arrested for DUI.

February 3 at 2:16 a.m., officers were patrolling the area of Peck and Live Oak when they saw a vehicle fail to stop at a red traffic signal. A traffic stop was conducted. The driver was intoxicated and an investigation for driving under the influence was conducted. The driver was arrested for DUI.
Domestic Violence – Suspect Arrested
February 3 at 3:21 a.m., a caller reported hearing a loud argument in the 700 block of W. Duarte. Officers arrived and made contact with a male and female subject who lived together. The female had scratched the male and left visible injuries. She was arrested and taken into custody.
Theft
February 3 at 7:18 a.m., a resident from the 800 block of E. Foothill reported that the mailboxes for his building were stolen sometime during the night. Officers arrived and began a theft report. Investigation continuing.
Traffic Collision – Vehicle vs. Pedestrian
February 3 at 9:35 a.m., a vehicle struck a pedestrian in the intersection of Fifth and Huntington. Officers arrived to investigate the collision and the pedestrian was transported to a hospital with injuries.
Hit & Run Traffic Collision/Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
February 4 at 1:07 p.m., a vehicle was reported near the area of Myrtle and Huntington being driven with two flat tires. A second caller reported being side-swiped by a vehicle that was not stopping. Officers arrived and located the vehicle near Myrtle and Palm. They initiated a traffic stop. A witness was able to positively identify the driver of the vehicle. An investigation was conducted and the driver was arrested for DUI.
Commercial Burglary
February 4 at 7:05 a.m., the owner of a business in the 400 block of W. Maple discovered someone had burglarized his business over the weekend. The suspect shattered a window to gain entry. Investigation continuing.
Phone Scam/Fraudulent Kidnapping Call
February 4 at 12:47 p.m., a female subject reported she had just received a call from an unknown number while in the 800 block of S. Mountain. A male subject told her he kidnapped her daughter and was holding her for ransom, unless she paid him money. Officers found the 15-year-old daughter at home, and she knew nothing about the call. The call was found to have originated in another country and was a fraudulent scam to extort money from the family.
Non-Injury Traffic Collision
February 4 at 7:19 hours, a vehicle was stopped on Mountain, waiting to make a left turn onto Wildrose, when a second vehicle lost control due to water on the roadway and collided into the first vehicle. Officers responded to investigate the collision. There were no injuries.
Vehicle Code Violations/Warrants – Suspect Arrested
February 4 at 10:39 p.m., an officer was on patrol in the area of Monterey and Huntington and saw a subject operating a motorcycle without license plates. The rider was also wearing a hard hat instead of a helmet. The officer initiated a traffic stop and discovered the rider did not have a motorcycle endorsement on his license and it was suspended. The rider also had multiple warrants for his arrest. He was arrested and taken into custody.

February 5 at 6:56 a.m., a caller reported a vehicle that was parked awkwardly for over an hour in the 900 block of E. Huntington. Officers arrived and discovered two female subjects in the vehicle. When contacted, they said a male subject who was no longer there drove them to the location. One of the female subjects had a warrant for her arrest. She was arrested and taken into custody.
Injury Traffic Collision
February 5 at 9:01 a.m., officers responded to the intersection of Fifth and Huntington for an injury traffic accident involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. As the pedestrian was walking across the sidewalk, he was struck by a vehicle turning left. The driver didn't see him. Officers arrived to investigate the collision and the pedestrian was transported to the hospital with injuries.
Mail Tampering
February 5 at 10:07 a.m., a resident in the 100 block of Peppertree Lane reported that mail was stolen from mailboxes on the street. When the officer arrived, it was discovered that there were numerous possible victims. A mail tampering report was taken and the investigation is continuing.
Non-Injury Traffic Collision
February 5 at 9:40 p.m., officers on patrol near the intersection of California and Evergreen came upon a single vehicle accident. The vehicle struck the center divider while making a turn and collided with a pole. There were no injuries.

February 6 at 7:41 a.m., a resident in the 700 block of W. Olive reported her senior complex mailbox was either left open or someone had opened it sometime during the night using a key. The community mailbox contains all of the private mailboxes of the residents. Mail had been removed and was on the ground. It is unknown if any mail was actually taken. This investigation is continuing.
Vehicle Burglary
February 6 at 8:59 a.m., a resident in the 600 block of W. Lemon walked outside his home and discovered someone had burglarized his vehicle sometime during the night. One of the windows had been shattered and the interior was ransacked. The resident did not know what had been taken. This investigation is continuing.
Possession of a Controlled Substance – Suspect Arrested
February 6 at 1:02 p.m., officers noticed a suspicious person in the 500 block of W. Colorado. They made contact with the subject, and a consent search revealed the subject was in possession of heroin. The subject was arrested possession of heroin.
Public Intoxication – Suspect Arrested
February 6 at 1:40 p.m., a caller reported a male subject was yelling at people in the 100 block of W. Foothill. Officers made contact with the subject and determined he was intoxicated and unable to care for himself. A computer check revealed he also had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The subject was arrested and taken into custody.
Vehicle Burglary
February 6 at 3:02 p.m., a vehicle burglary was reported in the 1600 block of S. Mountain. The victim parked and locked her vehicle, but forgot to take her purse. When she returned to her vehicle, the window was smashed and the purse was gone. This investigation is continuing.
Non-Injury Traffic Collision
February 6 at 5:02 p.m., a traffic collision was reported at Shamrock and Foothill. A white tractor trailer turned south on Shamrock from eastbound Foothill. As the trailer portion was completing the turn, it hit the light standard, knocking it down to the ground. The caller did not get a plate. It is unknown if the driver even knew what happened. Investigation continuing.

February 4 at 1:07 p.m., a vehicle was reported near the area of Myrtle and Huntington being driven with two flat tires. A second caller reported being side-swiped by a vehicle that was not stopping. Officers arrived and located the vehicle near Myrtle and Palm. They initiated a traffic stop. A witness was able to positively identify the driver of the vehicle. An investigation was conducted and the driver was arrested for DUI.

February 4 at 7:05 a.m., the owner of a business in the 400 block of W. Maple discovered someone had burglarized his business over the weekend. The suspect shattered a window to gain entry. Investigation continuing.
Phone Scam/Fraudulent Kidnapping Call
February 4 at 12:47 p.m., a female subject reported she had just received a call from an unknown number while in the 800 block of S. Mountain. A male subject told her he kidnapped her daughter and was holding her for ransom, unless she paid him money. Officers found the 15-year-old daughter at home, and she knew nothing about the call. The call was found to have originated in another country and was a fraudulent scam to extort money from the family.

February 4 at 7:19 hours, a vehicle was stopped on Mountain, waiting to make a left turn onto Wildrose, when a second vehicle lost control due to water on the roadway and collided into the first vehicle. Officers responded to investigate the collision. There were no injuries.

February 4 at 10:39 p.m., an officer was on patrol in the area of Monterey and Huntington and saw a subject operating a motorcycle without license plates. The rider was also wearing a hard hat instead of a helmet. The officer initiated a traffic stop and discovered the rider did not have a motorcycle endorsement on his license and it was suspended. The rider also had multiple warrants for his arrest. He was arrested and taken into custody.

February 5 at 6:56 a.m., a caller reported a vehicle that was parked awkwardly for over an hour in the 900 block of E. Huntington. Officers arrived and discovered two female subjects in the vehicle. When contacted, they said a male subject who was no longer there drove them to the location. One of the female subjects had a warrant for her arrest. She was arrested and taken into custody.
Injury Traffic Collision
February 5 at 9:01 a.m., officers responded to the intersection of Fifth and Huntington for an injury traffic accident involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. As the pedestrian was walking across the sidewalk, he was struck by a vehicle turning left. The driver didn't see him. Officers arrived to investigate the collision and the pedestrian was transported to the hospital with injuries.

February 5 at 10:07 a.m., a resident in the 100 block of Peppertree Lane reported that mail was stolen from mailboxes on the street. When the officer arrived, it was discovered that there were numerous possible victims. A mail tampering report was taken and the investigation is continuing.

February 5 at 9:40 p.m., officers on patrol near the intersection of California and Evergreen came upon a single vehicle accident. The vehicle struck the center divider while making a turn and collided with a pole. There were no injuries.

February 6 at 8:59 a.m., a resident in the 600 block of W. Lemon walked outside his home and discovered someone had burglarized his vehicle sometime during the night. One of the windows had been shattered and the interior was ransacked. The resident did not know what had been taken. This investigation is continuing.

February 6 at 1:02 p.m., officers noticed a suspicious person in the 500 block of W. Colorado. They made contact with the subject, and a consent search revealed the subject was in possession of heroin. The subject was arrested possession of heroin.

February 6 at 5:02 p.m., a traffic collision was reported at Shamrock and Foothill. A white tractor trailer turned south on Shamrock from eastbound Foothill. As the trailer portion was completing the turn, it hit the light standard, knocking it down to the ground. The caller did not get a plate. It is unknown if the driver even knew what happened. Officers arrived and spoke with a male and female subject, who are boyfriend and girlfriend. They were at local bar drinking with friends and they got into an argument. When they returned home, the argument escalated into a physical altercation and the female scratched the male subject’s face, causing physical injury. She was arrested for domestic violence.

Mountain called police to report a subject known for shoplifting at nearly a dozen other locations was in the store with an accomplice and hiding merchandise. Officers responded and coordinated a perimeter in the parking lot, and when the subjects tried to flee in a vehicle, they were detained safely. The known suspect was arrested for shoplifting.

The investigation revealed the wife came home intoxicated and started arguing with the husband. During the argument, the wife began hitting the husband and grabbed a kitchen knife. He ran into the bedroom and closed the door. The wife dropped the knife and the husband came out of the room. When the husband attempted to leave the house, the wife started pushing him and the mother-in-law intervened and started fighting with the wife. The wife was arrested for domestic battery and brandishing a knife.

The stop led to a search of the subject and the officer found methamphetamine, a methamphetamine smoking pipe and a throwing star in the subject’s possession. The subject was arrested and later released with a citation to appear in court on the charges.

The officers were able to confirm the subject had committed a burglary in Arcadia, where he stole the wallet containing the credit cards and the victim’s identification. Investigation continuing.
Vandalism / Possession of Narcotics for Sale – Suspects Arrested
January 19 at 9:20 p.m., a passerby saw four male subjects in front of a business in the 100 block of W. Duarte, and one of the subjects wrote graffiti on the wall with a green marker. The passerby called the police, who responded and located one of the possible subjects. No marker was found, but the subject was in possession of narcotics for sales and a replica gun. He was arrested without incident. Officers went back to the business and viewed video surveillance. Officers located a second subject who matched the subject in the video. He was also arrested and taken into custody.

After field sobriety tests were conducted, he was arrested for DUI.

January 22 at 11:06 a.m., an employee from a business in the 1600 block of S. Mountain called police to report a male Hispanic suspect who came into the store and selected a power drill. He made no attempt to pay for the item as he left the location. He ran to a vehicle and fled the location, heading east through the parking lot. The subject was arrested and later released with a citation to appear in court on the charges.

January 17 at 11:39 a.m., a traffic collision was reported in the 1500 block of S. Mayflower. Two motorists had collided into one another, which caused one of the vehicles to collide into two parked vehicles. Officers and paramedics arrived to treat the subjects with complaint of pain. January 19 at 9:20 p.m., a passerby saw four male subjects in front of a business in the 100 block of W. Duarte, and one of the subjects wrote graffiti on the wall with a green marker. The passerby called the police, who responded and located one of the possible subjects. No marker was found, but the subject was in possession of narcotics for sales and a replica gun. He was arrested without incident. Officers went back to the business and viewed video surveillance. Officers located a second subject who matched the subject in the video. He was also arrested and taken into custody.
Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
January 20 at 3:06 a.m., a resident in the 200 block of N. Myrtle called police to report a motorist that had crashed and the vehicle had rolled over. The motorist was driving north on Myrtle and clipped a parked vehicle, causing the vehicle to roll over. The driver was found to be intoxicated and had minor injuries. After field sobriety tests were conducted, he was arrested for DUI.

January 14 at 11:47 a.m., a male resident in the 500 block of W. Colorado called to report that his sister was at the location and was fighting with his mother. January 14 at 8:02 p.m., a theft from a vehicle was reported at a residence in the 800 block of E. Lime. The resident was unloading her vehicle in front of her residence and made several trips back and forth, leaving the vehicle unlocked. When she was finished, she noticed her laptop had been stolen from inside the vehicle. Investigation continuing.

January 15 at 12:33 p.m., a traffic collision involving three motorists was reported in the 1800 block of S. Duarte. Officers and Monrovia Paramedics arrived and found two of the parties were injured. They were taken to local hospitals for treatment. One of the vehicles was traveling west and the other was traveling south. They both claimed they had a green light. The third party advised they weren't paying attention and were struck by one of the other vehicles. The investigation is continuing.
Grand Theft Auto Recovery – Suspect Arrested
January 16 at 10:10 a.m., police dispatch received a report of a stolen vehicle that was traveling north on Myrtle in the downtown area. Officers located the vehicle with the help of the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department helicopter. The vehicle turned east onto Lime and parked near the Monrovia Police Department. Officers responded and detained the two occupants inside the vehicle, a female passenger and a male driver. The passenger was identified and released, and the driver was arrested. The stolen vehicle was returned to the owner.

January 4 at 2:27 a.m., officers responded to a burglary alarm activation at a business in the 100 block of E. Maple. When they arrived, they found the front door had been forced open. He was found to be heavily intoxicated and unable to care for his own safety, so he was arrested and taken into custody.

January 4 at 9:31 p.m., officers were patrolling in the area of 500 W. Huntington when they saw a vehicle commit a driving violation, so they stopped the vehicle. The vehicle was occupied by two subjects. The officers found both subjects to be in possession of methamphetamine and credit cards that did not belong to them. Officers were able to locate the owner of the credit cards, who said she has been defrauded out of thousands of dollars recently. Both suspects were arrested and taken into custody.

The subject in possession of the pipe was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia, and the other subject was issued a citation for the vehicle code violation.

January 5 at 3:02 a.m., an officer on patrol observed a vehicle in the 3000 block of S. Myrtle exceeding the speed limit by 25 miles per hour. He stopped the vehicle and approached the driver, who he found to be heavily intoxicated. After field sobriety tests were conducted, she was arrested for DUI. There was a passenger in the vehicle who was too intoxicated to care for his own safety, so he was arrested for public intoxication and taken into custody as well.

January 5 at 9:01 a.m., a resident in the 1200 block of Sherman called police to report her adult daughter was on the property, as she has a restraining order against her daughter. The suspect fled onto a nearby property when she saw officers arriving. Officers stayed in the area for an extended period of time, but the suspect was not located. The neighbors on the nearby property completed a No-Trespassing Form against the subject.

January 5 at 11:54 a.m., two victims came into the lobby to report a theft. They had hired a woman through WeChat to transport gifts of purses and clothing to their family in another country. The suspect told the victims she travels to and from that country often, and for $100 fee she would transport all of the items for the victims. The suspect provided the victims with a tracking number that she allegedly obtained from the postal service. When the victims discovered their family members never received the gifts, they called the postal service and discovered that the tracking number was not valid. Investigation continuing.

January 5 at 3:45 p.m., employees from a business in the 1600 block of S. Mountain reported a subject exiting the store without paying for merchandise. An employee saw the suspect in the parking lot and he was detained by officers. The items the subject took were recovered and the suspect was arrested. The suspect initially gave a false name to officers, but was eventually identified.

January 7 at 1:08 a.m., officers responded to a business in the 100 block of W. Lime regarding a burglary alarm activation. When they arrived, they heard a suspect inside the location. The suspect fled from the building on foot. As officers attempted to detain him, the suspect fought and punched one of the officers. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody. He was found to be in possession of burglary tools and had moved a safe inside the location.

January 7 at 7:54 a.m., a resident in the 600 block of Parkrose called to report someone broke into her vehicle. Her vehicle was parked in the complex overnight. The doors were locked and the windows were rolled up. She came outside the next morning and saw the rear, driver-side window was shattered. Her bag containing a computer was missing. January 7, at 4:17 p.m., a resident in the 400 block of Norumbega called police to report that he had been threatened. His grandchildren have been living with him and he claimed them on his taxes last year. The children’s biological father found out and became very upset. January 9 at 6:37 a.m., a female subject reported she had been battered the day prior at a park in the 300 block of S. Myrtle by a male subject. She stated that the subject approached her from behind while she was walking through the park and grabbed her by her hips. He attempted to start a conversation with her, but she ignored him. She described the subject as a male Black, 5’5”, normal build, with tight curled hair, and carrying a black backpack. The investigation is continuing.

January 9 at 11:32 a.m., a female subject who is homeless came to the police station with her four children to report her husband had hit her four times earlier in the morning. She received a phone call from an unknown phone number and the person on the other end claimed to be her grandson. The caller told her he needed money, which she sent via gift cards. The victim later learned the subject on the phone was not her grandson.
Traffic Collision
December 27 at 6:15 p.m., a vehicle collision was reported in the 800 block of E. Foothill. From a stop, one motorist moved forward and rear-ended the stopped vehicle in front of them. Information was exchanged and the motorist at fault was issued a citation.

December 29 at 9:08 a.m., several callers reported smoke coming from a building in the 800 block of S. Myrtle. Monrovia Fire Department and officers responded. The fire was coming from a make-shift fire pit inside a wheel barrow that was sitting on a piece of carpet on the property. As officers were arriving, two subjects started walking away from the property quickly. They were detained and, after further investigation, arrested for warrants and possession of smoking paraphernalia.
There were several other subjects hanging out on the property and sleeping in tents. Once on the property, officers observed spliced electrical wires laying on the ground that were coming from a power source and were next to a pool of water on the ground. Code Enforcement responded to the location and the entire property was red-tagged and deemed unsafe to occupy. Edison also responded and shut off the power to the property. The investigation is continuing.

Officers responded and contacted the subject. He was detained and also found to be in possession of methamphetamine. He was arrested for indecent exposure and possession of a controlled substance.

December 29 at 8:24 p.m., a resident in the 200 block of W. Cherry reported her ex-girlfriend was at her home in violation of a restraining order. Officers responded to the home, but the subject was gone. The resident reported the subject has violated the order several times since it was obtained a few weeks prior. December 29 at 8:28 p.m., a traffic collision was reported involving two motorists that had just collided in the 1500 block of S. Myrtle. Officers responded to investigate. One of the vehicles needed to be towed and the other was driven away. The driver who was found to be at fault was issued a citation.

December 29 at 9:23 p.m., a caller reported his 30-year-old brother was at their mother's home in the 100 block of W. Cypress and was under the influence of methamphetamine. Officers arrived and found the subject to be in need of medical care due to the narcotics. Paramedics responded and transported the subject to a nearby hospital for treatment.

December 29 at 11:47 p.m., an officer was patrolling the 700 block of E. Huntington when he saw a motorist commit a driving violation. He stopped the vehicle and contacted the driver, who was subsequently found to be in possession of methamphetamine. The driver was arrested and taken into custody.

December 30 at 11:13 a.m., a vehicle was reported stolen from the 300 block of W. Huntington. The victim parked his vehicle in front of a business at 6:00 a.m. and went into the business. He returned to his vehicle at 11:00 a.m. and discovered it was missing. The investigation is continuing.

The male subject fled prior to officers arriving. An Emergency Protective Order was obtained for the victim and the investigation is continuing.

January 2 at 4:26 p.m., a traffic collision was reported in the 200 block of W. Primrose. A motorist was traveling east on Colorado and stopped at the intersection of Primrose. A pedestrian was running south on Primrose and crossed the intersection at Colorado while outside the crosswalk. Neither the pedestrian nor the vehicle saw one another and both entered the intersection at the same time. The pedestrian was struck by the vehicle and suffered an abrasion to one of his arms. He was transported to a local hospital. Investigation continuing.

January 2 at 5:00 p.m., a motorist collided into two parked vehicles in the 200 block of E. Cypress. When officers arrived, the vehicle was in the middle of the intersection of Cypress and Sherman and the driver was located outside the vehicle on the ground, face down. He admitted to driving the vehicle. Numerous beer bottles were seen inside the vehicle. The driver was taken to a hospital for treatment. The investigation is continuing.

She received a phone call from an unknown phone number and the person on the other end claimed to be her grandson. The caller told her he needed money, which she sent via gift cards. The victim later learned the subject on the phone was not her grandson.

December 27 at 6:15 p.m., a vehicle collision was reported in the 800 block of E. Foothill. From a stop, one motorist moved forward and rear-ended the stopped vehicle in front of them. Information was exchanged and the motorist at fault was issued a citation.

December 27 at 9:02 p.m., an employee of a business in the 500 block of W. Huntington reported an adult female subject had taken clothes into the fitting room, concealed them, and then left the store without paying for the merchandise. Officers arrived on scene and detained the subject outside the store. The merchandise was returned and the subject was arrested for shoplifting. She was also found to be in possession of a pipe that had been used to smoke methamphetamine. She was arrested and taken into custody.

Both vehicles had been stopped for a red light, when the motorist in the back rolled forward and bumped the vehicle in front. A passenger in the front vehicle complained of neck pain and was transported to a nearby hospital.

December 28 at 1:54 a.m., an officer was on patrol in the 300 block of S. Myrtle when he saw a male subject he recognized from previous contacts. A computer check revealed the subject had a warrant for his arrest, so he was detained. During a search incident to arrest, the subject was also found to be in possession of methamphetamine. He was arrested and taken into custody.

December 20, at 11:03 p.m., a resident in the 500 block of Almond called to report a domestic violence incident. The victim’s ex-boyfriend came to her house to talk, they began arguing and an altercation ensued. During the altercation, the ex-boyfriend spit on her and then left the location. Officers were unable to locate the male. The investigation is continuing.

December 21, at 1:56 p.m., a resident called to report she was a victim of fraud. The caller purchased gift cards from a business in the 100 block of W. Foothill. She later called a phone number she believed to be Ticketmaster to return concert tickets. The person she spoke with on the phone convinced her to purchase google gift cards in the amount of $400 and then give him the numbers off the back of the gift cards in order to receive a refund for the concert tickets. She did not receive a refund and she was out $400. The investigation is continuing.

Huntington walked outside to their parked vehicles and discovered they had been burglarized sometime while they were dining. The suspects shattered several car windows and took holiday gifts that had been left in the cars. The investigation is continuing.

December 22, at 8:29 a.m., an officer was patrolling the 100 block of W. Foothill when he saw two subjects acting suspicious. The officer stopped and talked with the subjects and further investigation revealed one of the subjects was in possession of methamphetamine. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody.
Dog Rescue
December 22, at 11:36 a.m., officers responded to a residence in the 700 block of Genoa to assist an elderly woman who fell on the cement around her pool while attempting to rescue her dog from drowning. She yelled for help and a neighbor heard her and called the police. Officers located the female and rescued the dog from the pool. The dog's paw was entangled in a rope in the pool. The woman and the dog were treated on scene by Monrovia Paramedics.
Trespassing – Suspect Arrested
December 22, at 12:59 p.m., a property owner called to report his vacant house in the 300 block of Genoa was occupied by a male adult transient. Officers arrived and located the transient who was previously advised of the No Trespass order. The subject was arrested and issued a citation.
Petty Theft of Christmas Decorations
December 22, at 10:37 p.m., a resident in the 400 block of Hurstview reported a male subject had taken Christmas decorations from her front yard. After watching her home surveillance video, she saw a male subject take the decorations approximately two hours prior to discovering them missing. This investigation is continuing.

December 23, at 1:49 a.m., an officer was patrolling the 400 block of S. Myrtle west alley when he saw a male subject yelling at other subjects. He was attempting to fight the subjects and the officer stopped him. He was found to be heavily intoxicated and unable to care for his own safety. He was taken into custody and held for a sobering period.

December 23, at 1:56 p.m., a resident called to report a suspicious vehicle in the 1600 block of Pilgrim. Officers arrived and contacted a male and female who were sitting inside the vehicle. Both subjects were intoxicated and unable to care for their safety. Both subjects were arrested and brought to the Monrovia Police Department Jail for a sobering period.

December 23, at 2:52 p.m., a caller reported a disturbance at a residence between a male and female in the 200 block of W. Palm. Officers arrived and contacted the female at the residence. An investigation revealed the altercation was only verbal, however, there was a domestic violence restraining order against the male subject who left prior to the officers arriving. The investigation is continuing.

December 23, at 6:29 p.m., a vandalism was reported in the 1400 block of S. California. The owner of the rental home arrived at his vacant house and discovered someone had shattered the front window. It did not appear as if anyone could have gained entry into the home. This investigation is continuing.
Armed Robbery
December 23, at 8:09 p.m., an employee of a department store in the 500 block of W. Huntington reported the store had just been robbed. She reported the three adult male suspects entered the store and immediately starting loading merchandise into bags. After the suspects had the merchandise they wanted, they ran toward the exit doors but were stopped by store security. One of the suspects pointed a gun at the store security. The suspects left the store with the merchandise and fled in a vehicle. Officers searched the area for the suspects with the assistance of a police helicopter but were unable to locate them. This investigation is continuing.
Possession of Heroin - Suspects Arrested
December 23, at 9:06 p.m., a resident in the 800 block of E. Greystone reported a suspicious white van parked across the street from her house. She said the vehicle was occupied by two male subjects and a female subject she did not recognize and they were walking back and forth from the van to a neighbor's home. When officers arrived, all three subjects ran into the home. The owner of the home, who was on active probation, told his guests to not open the door. Officers left the home but soon thereafter stopped the vehicle for a violation. All three subjects were in the vehicle and had warrants for their arrest, and one was in possession of heroin. They were all taken into custody. LA County Probation issued a probation violation against the home owner for not complying with his conditions of probation.
Domestic Violence – Suspect Arrested
December 24, at 7:40 a.m., a female victim came into the Monrovia Police Department lobby to report a domestic violence incident that occurred in the 1700 block of Alamitas. The victim and her husband got into a verbal argument that became physical. The victim refused an Emergency Protective Order, did not want medical treatment, and did not want prosecution. Officers went to the residence to speak with the male half and he was subsequently arrested for domestic violence. December 24, at 11:15 p.m., a caller reported that a battery just occurred in the 600 block of E. Colorado. The victim and several witnesses were in the alley when a vehicle approached and tried to pass them, but couldn’t get through. The suspect exited the vehicle and began punching one of the subjects. The suspect fled in his vehicle prior to officers arriving. The investigation is continuing.
Resisting an Officer – Suspect Arrested
December 25, at 4:55 a.m., officers were dispatched to the parking lot of a hotel in the 900 block of S. Fifth regarding a male subject possibly breaking into a vehicle. Officers arrived and detained the subject who was in possession of a pry tool. When officers attempted to pat down the subject, he resisted and tried to break away. The subject tried spitting on officers as they took him into custody. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody.
Vehicle Burglary
December 25, at 6:39 a.m., a resident in the 1600 block of S. Mayflower called to report her vehicle was broken into while it was parked in her garage. The incident happened sometime during the night and her purse was taken. The investigation is continuing.
Commercial Burglary
December 26, at 8:50 a.m., an employee in the 800 block of W. Foothill called to report his business was broken into sometime during the past two days. The suspect removed a hide-a-key store box from the unit and accessed the building that way. The suspect also cut the alarm wires and deactivated the alarm. A computer, USB drive, documents, copper wire and a 65” television were taken. The investigation is continuing.
Shoplifting – Suspects Arrested
December 26, at 1:55 p.m., security for a business in the 500 block of W. Huntington called to report a shoplifter. A male entered the business to steal. Loss Prevention approached the subject outside and detained him until the police arrived. Officers arrived and took the subject into custody.

December 26, at 5:16 p.m., a victim in the 600 block of Linwood called to report a theft. Her unlocked vehicle, which was parked in front of her residence, was ransacked and items were missing. The investigation is continuing.

December 26, at 10:10 p.m., a resident in the 1100 block of Sesmas reported a motorist had just collided into his parked vehicle. The motorist turned off the headlights and fled the location. The investigation is continuing.

The driver was reversing out of a driveway when she lost control and struck a near-by wall. She complained of pain to her back, but refused to be transported to a local hospital.

December 20, at 6:21 p.m., an employee at a business in the 100 block of W. Foothill called to report they were detaining a male and a female for shoplifting. Loss Prevention approached the subjects outside and detained them until the police arrived. Officers arrived and after conducting an investigation, they arrested and took both subjects into custody.
Domestic Battery
December 20, at 11:03 p.m., a resident in the 500 block of Almond called to report a domestic violence incident. The victim’s ex-boyfriend came to her house to talk, they began arguing and an altercation ensued. During the altercation, the ex-boyfriend spit on her and then left the location. Officers were unable to locate the male. The investigation is continuing.

December 21, at 12:24 p.m., officers responded to a traffic collision in the 700 block of E. Foothill. A motorist failed to yield for a red traffic signal and collided into another vehicle. Both parties involved complained of pain and were treated on scene by Monrovia Paramedics.
Grand Theft Auto
December 21, at 1:02 p.m., a vehicle was reported stolen in the 3300 block of S. Peck. The victim parked his vehicle to the front of a business and went inside for approximately one hour. He returned to find his car missing. The investigation is continuing.
Fraud Report
December 21, at 1:56 p.m., a resident called to report she was a victim of fraud. The caller purchased gift cards from a business in the 100 block of W. Foothill. She later called a phone number she believed to be Ticketmaster to return concert tickets. The person she spoke with on the phone convinced her to purchase google gift cards in the amount of $400 and then give him the numbers off the back of the gift cards in order to receive a refund for the concert tickets. She did not receive a refund and she was out $400. The investigation is continuing.

December 21, at 6:02 p.m., officers were dispatched to a traffic collision in the 500 block of W. Colorado. A pedestrian was walking in a crosswalk when a motorist struck him. Monrovia Paramedics arrived on scene and treated the pedestrian. The pedestrian complained of pain to his legs, but refused to go to the hospital. The party at fault was issued a citation.

December 21, at 7:41 p.m., several customers of a restaurant in the 800 block of W. Huntington walked outside to their parked vehicles and discovered they had been burglarized sometime while they were dining. The suspects shattered several car windows and took holiday gifts that had been left in the cars. The investigation is continuing.
Possession of Methamphetamine - Suspect Arrested
December 22, at 8:29 a.m., an officer was patrolling the 100 block of W. Foothill when he saw two subjects acting suspicious. The officer stopped and talked with the subjects and further investigation revealed one of the subjects was in possession of methamphetamine. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody.
Dog Rescue
December 22, at 11:36 a.m., officers responded to a residence in the 700 block of Genoa to assist an elderly woman who fell on the cement around her pool while attempting to rescue her dog from drowning. She yelled for help and a neighbor heard her and called the police. Officers located the female and rescued the dog from the pool. The dog's paw was entangled in a rope in the pool. The woman and the dog were treated on scene by Monrovia Paramedics.
Trespassing – Suspect Arrested
December 22, at 12:59 p.m., a property owner called to report his vacant house in the 300 block of Genoa was occupied by a male adult transient. Officers arrived and located the transient who was previously advised of the No Trespass order. The subject was arrested and issued a citation.
Petty Theft of Christmas Decorations
December 22, at 10:37 p.m., a resident in the 400 block of Hurstview reported a male subject had taken Christmas decorations from her front yard. After watching her home surveillance video, she saw a male subject take the decorations approximately two hours prior to discovering them missing. This investigation is continuing.
Public Intoxication - Suspect Arrested
December 23, at 1:49 a.m., an officer was patrolling the 400 block of S. Myrtle west alley when he saw a male subject yelling at other subjects. He was attempting to fight the subjects and the officer stopped him. He was found to be heavily intoxicated and unable to care for his own safety. He was taken into custody and held for a sobering period.
Public Intoxication - Suspect Arrested
December 23, at 1:56 p.m., a resident called to report a suspicious vehicle in the 1600 block of Pilgrim. Officers arrived and contacted a male and female who were sitting inside the vehicle. Both subjects were intoxicated and unable to care for their safety. Both subjects were arrested and brought to the Monrovia Police Department Jail for a sobering period.
Violation of Domestic Violence Restraining Order
December 23, at 2:52 p.m., a caller reported a disturbance at a residence between a male and female in the 200 block of W. Palm. Officers arrived and contacted the female at the residence. An investigation revealed the altercation was only verbal, however, there was a domestic violence restraining order against the male subject who left prior to the officers arriving. The investigation is continuing.
Vandalism
December 23, at 6:29 p.m., a vandalism was reported in the 1400 block of S. California. The owner of the rental home arrived at his vacant house and discovered someone had shattered the front window. It did not appear as if anyone could have gained entry into the home. This investigation is continuing.
Armed Robbery
December 23, at 8:09 p.m., an employee of a department store in the 500 block of W. Huntington reported the store had just been robbed. She reported the three adult male suspects entered the store and immediately starting loading merchandise into bags. After the suspects had the merchandise they wanted, they ran toward the exit doors but were stopped by store security. One of the suspects pointed a gun at the store security. The suspects left the store with the merchandise and fled in a vehicle. Officers searched the area for the suspects with the assistance of a police helicopter but were unable to locate them. This investigation is continuing.
Possession of Heroin - Suspects Arrested
December 23, at 9:06 p.m., a resident in the 800 block of E. Greystone reported a suspicious white van parked across the street from her house. She said the vehicle was occupied by two male subjects and a female subject she did not recognize and they were walking back and forth from the van to a neighbor's home. When officers arrived, all three subjects ran into the home. The owner of the home, who was on active probation, told his guests to not open the door. Officers left the home but soon thereafter stopped the vehicle for a violation. All three subjects were in the vehicle and had warrants for their arrest, and one was in possession of heroin. They were all taken into custody. LA County Probation issued a probation violation against the home owner for not complying with his conditions of probation.
Domestic Violence – Suspect Arrested
December 24, at 7:40 a.m., a female victim came into the Monrovia Police Department lobby to report a domestic violence incident that occurred in the 1700 block of Alamitas. The victim and her husband got into a verbal argument that became physical. The victim refused an Emergency Protective Order, did not want medical treatment, and did not want prosecution. Officers went to the residence to speak with the male half and he was subsequently arrested for domestic violence. December 13, at 11:42 a.m., an employee who works at a business in the 200 block of E. Huntington called to report that he received a threatening email which stated an explosive device would detonate if a ransom was not received. Officers responded and evacuated the building. A search for any suspicious devices were conducted and no suspicious devices were located. It was determined that similar emails were sent nationwide and the FBI and LASD Bomb Squad were aware of the threats.

December 13, at 4:12 p.m., officers made contact with a subject in the 600 block of S. Canyon who was in violation of an active restraining order. The subject also had multiple warrants for his arrest. He was arrested and taken into custody.

An employee of a business arrived to work and discovered someone entered through the rear door of the business and cut the cash box drawer from the register. December 15, at 10:33 p.m., an employee of a business in the 400 block of E. Duarte reported a male subject sleeping inside of one of the company's unlocked trailers in the parking lot. Officers arrived and contacted the subject. The business refused to prosecute the subject for trespassing or tampering with their vehicle. The subject left the area.

December 15, at 10:59 p.m., a resident in the 500 block of Shady Oaks reported a motorist had just collided into a tree near her home. Officers responded to the scene but the driver had fled the area leaving the car behind. The vehicle had major damage, it was stored per the California Vehicle Code. This investigation is continuing.

December 16, at 12:15 a.m., an employee of a bar establishment in the 400 block of S. Myrtle reported two female subjects were fist fighting in the bar. When officers arrived the fight had ended and both subjects refused to prosecute one another for battery. The subjects did not need medical attention. The fight started over one subject spilling the other's drink.

December 16, at 12:24 a.m., an employee of a fast food restaurant in the 100 block of W. Huntington reported 20 to 30 subjects fist fighting in their parking lot. When officers arrived the fight had ended and all subjects were disbursing the area. Victims of battery could not be located. The subjects officers spoke with advised that none of the involved persons were from Monrovia.

December 16, at 1:40 p.m., an employee of a business in the 600 block of W. Huntington reported that a male subject entered the business and used a sledge hammer to break a display case and remove cell phones from it. The suspect fled on foot prior to officers arriving. December 15, at 8:58 p.m., officers responded to a burglary alarm at a business in the 3300 block of S. Peck. When officers arrived they located a male subject inside the gated yard of the business throwing car parts over the fence. The subject was taken into custody for trespassing and theft.
Trespassing
December 15, at 10:33 p.m., an employee of a business in the 400 block of E. Duarte reported a male subject sleeping inside of one of the company's unlocked trailers in the parking lot. Officers arrived and contacted the subject. The business refused to prosecute the subject for trespassing or tampering with their vehicle. The subject left the area.
Hit & Run Traffic Collision
December 15, at 10:59 p.m., a resident in the 500 block of Shady Oaks reported a motorist had just collided into a tree near her home. Officers responded to the scene but the driver had fled the area leaving the car behind. The vehicle had major damage, it was stored per the California Vehicle Code. This investigation is continuing.
Fight in Public
December 16, at 12:15 a.m., an employee of a bar establishment in the 400 block of S. Myrtle reported two female subjects were fist fighting in the bar. When officers arrived the fight had ended and both subjects refused to prosecute one another for battery. The subjects did not need medical attention. The fight started over one subject spilling the other's drink.
Fight in Public
December 16, at 12:24 a.m., an employee of a fast food restaurant in the 100 block of W. Huntington reported 20 to 30 subjects fist fighting in their parking lot. When officers arrived the fight had ended and all subjects were disbursing the area. Victims of battery could not be located. The subjects officers spoke with advised that none of the involved persons were from Monrovia.
Grand Theft
December 16, at 1:40 p.m., an employee of a business in the 600 block of W. Huntington reported that a male subject entered the business and used a sledge hammer to break a display case and remove cell phones from it. The suspect fled on foot prior to officers arriving. The investigation is continuing.
Public Intoxication – Suspect Arrested
December 16, at 2:35 p.m., a caller reported a male adult was walking into traffic and appeared to be intoxicated. Officers arrived and located the subject who was too intoxicated to care for his own safety. The subject was arrested and taken into custody.
Domestic Violence
December 16, at 5:20 p.m., a victim came into the lobby to report a domestic violence incident that had just occurred at her residence in the 200 block of W. Cypress. The victim said her boyfriend and her got into an argument that escalated to a physical altercation. The investigation is continuing.
Vehicle Burglary
December 17, at 2:00 p.m., a victim called to report he parked his vehicle near Canyon Park and went on a hike. When he returned to his vehicle he found the front passenger’s window was smashed and a lunch box was taken. The investigation is continuing.
Petty Theft
December 17, at 5:04 p.m., a resident in the 1500 block of S. Primrose called to report a theft. The resident reported she left her laptop inside her parked, unlocked vehicle and it was taken. The investigation is continuing.
Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
December 17, at 7:22 p.m., officers responded to a disturbance call from a business in the 700 block of W. Huntington. Officers arrived and contacted the subject. The subject displayed symptoms of being under the influence of a controlled substance. He was evaluated and officers determined the subject was under the influence of a controlled substance. He was arrested and taken into custody.
Injury Traffic Collision
December 18, at 4:40 p.m., a caller reported a traffic collision in the 400 block of W. Foothill. A vehicle traveling east struck multiple vehicles and a building. The driver may have been experiencing a medical emergency while driving. The driver was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The investigation is continuing.
Driving Under the Influence - Suspect Arrested
December 19, at 6:17 p.m., an officer was patrolling the 100 block of E. Huntington when he saw a motorist commit a driving violation. He stopped the vehicle and found the driver to be intoxicated. After field sobriety tests were conducted, the driver was arrested and taken into custody.
