Monrovia's New Christmas Tree Lighted

After a few words from Mayor Mary Ann Lutz, the lighting of Monrovia's new Christmas tree. The old one was blown over by the super wind storm. The new one was donated by Home Depot. It is at the southeast corner of Library Park.

  1. I'm glad that Home Depot stepped up - it makes me want to shop more there - Thank you Home Depot - the (lovely) small town of Monrovia needed a town christmas tree - Thank you. I will shop more there because you support this lovely little town.

  2. Being a Monrovian myself, I was happy to donate the tree on behalf of Home Depot. I remember driving around the city after the wind storm and seeing the devastation across the entire city, and then drove by library park and saw the old tree had fallen over. The original goal we had set at Home Depot, was to have the new tree delivered and planted before Christmas last year. I wish it would have been possible to match the size and the elegance of our previous 60+ year old tree, but I look forward to watching this new one grow and become just as spectacular.
