Miracle on Myrtle

Miracle on Myrtle, at Monrovia's Library Park on Dec. 23, 5 p.m. The church, Fellowship Monrovia (which meets at the Community Center), is sponsoring live musical performances, and the world premiere of "Miracle on Myrtle," a new animation by Fellowship Productions. The church says it wants this to be an annual tradition. http://goo.gl/uAGMt

  1. I just returned from this event with my family and was quite disgusted. This was billed and advertised as a “holiday” event with snow, cookies, and Christmas carols but was in reality a bait-and-switch propaganda event for a local fundamentalist Christian church… on city property. We left when the music stopped and what appeared to be a pastor got on stage and started preaching. They wish to make this a yearly event. I will be certainly contacting a lawyer and civil liberties groups to protest this clear violation of church/state separation.

  2. Umm...Are you serious?

Amendment 1 of the Constitution: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances."

Seems like they were exercising their rights that "the Creator gave them" as the founding fathers would say.
