Flu Clinic; Evensong; Monrovia Garden Club; Senior Halloween; Breathe

~ Senior Flu Clinic every first Tuesday and Wednesday of October at the Monrovia Community Center, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Free with Medicare; $32 non-Medicare. Information: Natalya Romo, 256-8246 x 3132 or nromo@ci.monrovia.ca.us.

~ Thirteenth annual Men's Evensong Invitational on Sunday, Oct. 16. at 4 p.m. at St. Luke Episcopal Church at California and Foothill Boulevard in Monrovia. The Rev. Neil Tadken will be the celebrant and cantor. The anthem will be Franz Biebl's Ave Maria, written in 1964. An offering will be taken. Wine and cheese reception will follow the performance.

~ The Monrovia Garden Club meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 25, 7 p.m. (social time with refreshments at 6:30 p.m.) at the First Presbyterian Church, northeast corner of Myrtle and Foothill in the Fellowship Hall downstairs. Speaker Tom Freeman will demonstrate how to make a redwood planter box. Kits available for purchase. The Garden Club will have a booth selling plants and providing gardening information at the "Celebrate the Arts" festival on Oct. 29 and 30. Visitors welcome.
