Dinner at The State

Dinner at The State, a new restaurant near the southeast corner of Myrtle and Lemon. Got the Happy Hour Spinach and Artichoke Grilled Cheese Sandwich for $10 and a craft beer for $8. Pleasant, sports bar-ish decor, but no television sets, so I guess it’s not really a sports bar. Sandwich was very nice.  Menus

Dinner at Chronic Taco

Dinner at Chronic Taco, on the west side of Myrtle just north of Palm. Got the two taco plate for $9.95 and a beer. To get a beer you need to first buy a card for $2 and then put money on it. I put $8 on it then touched the card on the tap to get the beer, so the beer cost $8… or less. Or, if you just use the card once I guess it cost $10. Anyway, it was all tasty.

Dinner at Dave’s Hot Chicken

Dinner at the new Dave’s Hot Chicken, on the south side of Huntington just west of Mayflower. Like Cane’s, you basically get to choose between chicken and chicken. Got the Dave’s Number 1 combo for $11.99 and a soft drink for $1.99. Okay, they’re not kidding about “hot.” I got the Hot spicyness level, which is actually just the third hotness, preceded by Reaper (hottest) and Extra Hot, but it was plenty hot - my nose is still running. Anyway, it was good and filling.

Dinner at Lin’s Club

Dinner at Lin’s Club, a little Chinese restaurant in the shopping center at the intersection of Duarte Road and 6th. I wasn’t brave enough to get the intestines, pigs ears, or bullfrog, so I got the Shredded Pork with Garlic Sauce for $11.99, rice for $1 and a Diet Pepsi for $2. Those noodles you see are not noodles, but bamboo. Very reasonably priced, as well. Spicy good.
