Gentle Mika is a low-key senior German Shepherd who knows a good treat
Mika is a 12-year-old German Shepherd who is delightfully low-key and has an extra-special sense for a good treat! This senior girl is happiest taking a slow, sniff-filled stroll, getting brushed, or simply hanging out with her people. She’s incredibly gentle, too—taking treats carefully from your hand, walking beautifully on leash, and, according to her foster, never barking. She’s also perfectly content around other dogs and has the kind of calm, unassuming presence that makes her very easy to love.
If your idea of the perfect companion is a calm, sweet soul who’s happy to take life at an easy pace, Mika may just be your girl. Meet her today at Pasadena Humane. The adoption fee for dogs is $150. All dog adoptions include spay or neuter, microchip, and age-appropriate vaccines.
Walk-in adoptions are available every day from 9:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. View photos of adoptable pets at pasadenahumane.org.
New adopters will receive a complimentary health-and-wellness exam from VCA Animal Hospitals, as well as a goody bag filled with information about how to care for your pet. Pets may not be available for adoption and cannot be held for potential adopters by phone calls or email.

Council to consider state measures on housing, increasing approval threshold for local tax measures
~ Taking positions on two statewide propositions:
Staff recommends supporting Proposition 1, which would authorize $11.25 billion in bonds for affordable housing construction and preservation, veterans’ home loans, supportive housing for people experiencing homelessness, and home-buyer assistance.
Staff recommends taking no position on Proposition 43, which would raise the approval threshold for citizen-initiated local special taxes from a simple majority to two-thirds and prohibit local property taxes beyond those constitutionally authorized.
