Petty Theft From a Vehicle
December 5 at 7:23 a.m., a resident in the 400 block of W. Colorado called police to report items had been taken from his unlocked vehicle sometime during the night. The victim parked his vehicle in front of his residence. The next morning he found the vehicle ransacked and a small amount of cash left in the vehicle was missing. The investigation is continuing.

Non-Injury Traffic Collision
December 5 at 7:00 p.m., a caller reported two vehicles had just collided into one another at the intersection of Huntington and Primrose, causing one vehicle to overturn. Officers arrived with Paramedics, however, no one was found to be injured. A collision investigation was conducted, and the driver at fault was issued a citation for failure to yield at a stop sign.

Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
December 5 at 7:00 p.m., a motorist went around a police barricade on Maple at Primrose that was set up for the holiday parade. A parking enforcement officer stopped and contacted the driver, who was believed to be intoxicated. When the parking officer called for a police officer to assist, the driver fled the area, heading south on Primrose. Officers stopped the driver two blocks away. After field sobriety tests were conducted, the driver was arrested for DUI and held for a sobering period.

Vandalism
December 5 at 8:26 p.m., a resident in the 400 block of Monrovista reported someone just shot a BB through one of the windows of his home, completely shattering it. Officers responded, but no suspects were located. This investigation is continuing.

Residential Burglary
December 6 at 7:44 a.m., a burglary was reported at an apartment complex in the 700 block of W. Foothill. Unknown Suspects broke the frame around the complex laundry room door to gain entry. Four washing machines were broken into and coins were taken. Investigation continuing.

Commercial Burglary
December 6 at 7:50 a.m., an employee from a business in the 200 block of W. Duarte reported a burglary that occurred sometime overnight. A suspect entered through a previously broken window and stole an old skateboard from an office. No other items were taken. The investigation is continuing.

Injury Traffic Collision
December 6 at 6:18 p.m., a traffic collision was reported at the intersection of Huntington and Shamrock. Officers responded and found a passenger in one of the vehicles complained of neck pain. Paramedics responded, but medical treatment was refused. Both drivers had been approaching a red light. One of the drivers admitted to following too closely and was not able to stop in time, colliding into the vehicle in front of him.

Vandalism In Progress – Suspect Arrested
December 6 at 7:21 p.m., a caller reported a male subject spray painting on the public sidewalk in the 300 block of W. Huntington. Officers located the subject with the spray paint can next to him and fresh spray paint residue on his hands. The suspect admitted to writing graffiti on the sidewalk. After the witness positively identified the suspect, he was arrested and taken into custody.

Vehicle Burglary
December 7 at 2:24 a.m., a resident in the 800 block of W. Olive called police to report his vehicle had been burglarized two nights prior. He parked his car on the street in front of his house and locked all the doors. There was no sign of forced entry, but several tools were taken from the vehicle. This investigation is continuing.

Grand Theft Auto
December 7 at 7:06 a.m., a vehicle was reported stolen from the 1000 block of S. Mountain. The victim left his keys on a patio table outside. In the morning, he discovered his vehicle was missing. The vehicle taken was a maroon Honda Accord.

Attempt Mail Theft / Warrants / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspect Arrested
December 7 at 6:27 p.m., a resident in the 2100 block of S. Myrtle called police to report a male subject took a gift package from her neighbor’s home, but when he saw the witness, he dropped the package and fled the area on a bike. Officers responded to the area, but could not locate the suspect. An hour later, an officer patrolling the area found a male subject matching the description. The witness could not be located to identify him. The suspect was found to be in possession of a methamphetamine pipe and he had two warrants for his arrest. He was arrested and taken into custody.

Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
December 7 at 10:35 p.m., an officer was patrolling the 900 block of W. Huntington, when he saw a motorist commit a driving violation. He stopped the vehicle and found the driver to be intoxicated. After field sobriety tests were conducted, the driver was arrested and held for a sobering period.

Vehicle Vandalism
December 9 at 7:52 a.m., a resident in the 400 block of E. Duarte walked outside his home to go to work and discovered someone had shattered one of his car windows. Nothing was taken from inside his vehicle. This investigation is continuing.

Grand Theft Bicycle
December 9 at 8:42 a.m., a guest at a hotel in the 900 block of S. Fifth reported their bicycle worth $2,000 was stolen from the hotel property. The guest had locked their bike to the hotel's barbeque by the outside patio earlier that morning. This investigation is continuing.

Vehicle Burglary
December 9 at 11:05 a.m., a resident in the 1800 block of S. Mayflower discovered his vehicle had been burglarized sometime during the night. The suspect broke the door lock and took a set golf clubs, an apple watch and several other items that he had left on the front seat. This investigation is continuing.

Petty Theft
December 9 at 1:45 p.m., a gardener doing work in the 200 block of N. Canyon reported the tools from the bed of his truck had just been stolen by two male suspects. The suspects fled the area in a vehicle. Officers responded to the area, but could not locate the suspects. This investigation is continuing.

Hit and Run, Non-injury Traffic Collision
December 9 at 5:27 p.m., a motorist reported she was just in a collision with three other motorists in the 600 block of W. Duarte. While officers were responding, one of the drivers fled the scene. Officers searched for the hit and run suspect, but were unable to locate him. This investigation is continuing.

Package Theft
December 10 at 9:05 a.m., a resident in the 100 block of N. Myrtle reported she never received her gift packages from Amazon, but was advised they were delivered to her front porch the night before. She reviewed her video and saw a male suspect taking her packages, which contained Christmas gifts. Investigation continuing.

Vehicle Burglary
December 10 at 10:04 a.m., a vehicle burglary was reported in the 300 block of Genoa. The victim walked outside his apartment and discovered someone had burglarized his parked car sometime during the night. It is unknown how the suspect overcame the locking device for the vehicle. Several personal items were taken, including the victim's wallet. This investigation is continuing.

Injury Traffic Collision
December 10 at 11:31 a.m., a motorist was involved in a collision with another motorist at the intersection of Olive and California, and had pain, but no visible injuries. Officers and paramedics responded. After investigation, the driver who caused the collision was issued a citation.

Grand Theft
December 10 at 2:42 p.m., an employee of a clothing store in the 1600 block of S. Mountain reported two male suspects left the store four hours earlier with a large dollar amount of merchandise and did not pay for the items. This investigation is continuing.

Hit & Run Traffic Collision
December 10 at 10:23 p.m., a hit and run traffic collision was reported in the 700 block of E. Huntington. The victim called to report he just saw a driver hit his parked vehicle and drive away. The employee wrote down the license plate, which returned to an address in Arcadia. Officers went to the location, but the vehicle was not there. The investigation is continuing.

Grand Theft Auto
December 11 at 5:40 a.m., a resident in the 600 block of E. Lime called police to report his 2002 Chevy van, which had a large quantity of tools inside, was stolen from the front of his residence. The investigation is continuing.

Public Intoxication – Suspect Arrested
December 11 at 11:35 a.m., officers were patrolling the Station Square Park in the 1600 block S. Primrose when they located a male subject who was heavily intoxicated and carrying an open alcohol container. The subject was yelling at people and was determined to be too intoxicated to care for his own safety or the safety of others. He was arrested and held for a sobering period.

Petty Theft
December 11 at 2:43 p.m., a petty theft was reported at a business in the 1600 block of S. Mountain. A 93-year-old customer reported to officers that a female suspect stole the items he had just purchased out of his shopping cart. His bag of merchandise also included his wallet, identification, credit cards and money. He was unable to chase after her, but yelled for help. Employees ran to assist him, but the female suspect was already gone. Officers responded and were unable to locate the suspect. This investigation is continuing.

Public Intoxication / Warrant – Suspect Arrested
November 27 at 12:05 a.m., officers responded to a residence in the 500 block of Almond regarding a family disturbance. An investigation revealed one of the involved subjects had multiple warrants for his arrest and was heavily intoxicated. The suspect was arrested and held for a sobering period.

Residential Burglary
November 27 at 3:09 p.m., a resident in the 700 block of E. Greystone arrived home and noticed items were missing from the home. Officers arrived and conducted an investigation. There was no sign of forced entry and it was determined the location might have been left unlocked. This investigation is continuing.

Theft
November 27 at 5:41 p.m., a theft of a package was reported in the 500 block of W. Maple. The caller reported a package was taken from the front porch of his neighbor’s residence ten minutes prior. Officers responded and conducted a check of the area, but the subject was not located. This investigation is continuing.

Injury Traffic Collision
November 27 at 7:03 p.m., two vehicles traveling near the intersection of Foothill and Canyon collided into each other. Both parties complained of pain and were treated by paramedics from the Monrovia Fire Department. Officers conducted an investigation and the party at fault was issued a citation for failing to stop at a red light.

Theft / Warrant – Suspects Arrested
November 28 at 4:27 a.m., officers responded to the 600 block of W. Duarte regarding a possible burglary in progress. Two suspects were detained at a nearby location. The investigation revealed one of the suspects stole a catalytic converter from a vehicle. He was arrested for grand theft. The second suspect was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

Non-Injury Traffic Collision
November 28 at 1:37 p.m., officers responded to the intersection of Huntington and Magnolia regarding two vehicles that collided. A vehicle was driving north on Magnolia and entered the intersection on a red light. The vehicle collided with another vehicle driving east on Huntington and slid into the traffic signal, knocking the light pole over. Public works responded to repair the light pole. There were no injuries.

Vandalism
November 28 at 8:19 p.m., a resident in the 400 block of W. Lime reported his brother had just arrived at the home, shattered the car window on his vehicle, and then fled the area. Officers searched for the suspect, but were unable to locate him. The investigation into this family dispute is continuing.

Restraining Order Violation – Suspect Arrested
November 29 at 12:35 a.m., a resident in the 700 block of Mountain View reported her ex-boyfriend was at her house banging on the front door. She told the officers she had an active domestic violence restraining order which prohibited him from being within 100 yards of her home. Officers arrived and apprehended the subject as he attempted to drive away. After the order was confirmed, he was arrested and taken into custody.

Warrant / Possession of a Controlled Substance for Sale / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspects Arrested
November 29 at 2:45 a.m., an officer was on patrol in the 900 block of W. Huntington, when he initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for a vehicle code violation. An investigation revealed the passenger was wanted out of Texas for narcotics sales. The driver had a suspended license and a warrant for possession of a controlled substance. The driver was taken into custody and, during a search incident to arrest, was found to be in possession of heroin, a scale, cash, and small baggies. Both suspects were arrested and taken into custody.

Theft / Warrants – Suspect Arrested
November 29 at 1:27 p.m., a resident in the 400 block of E. Colorado called to report a package stolen from her porch. The victim left a present on her porch for a friend and discovered it was taken when she received a Ring activation message on her phone. When she reviewed her Ring video, it showed a male adult suspect taking the present. Officers conducted an area check and saw the suspect from the Ring video, still holding the package. Officers detained the suspect, and further investigation revealed he had several warrants for his arrest. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody.

Hit and Run Traffic Collision / Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
November 29 at 6:41 p.m., a motorist reported another driver just collided into her vehicle at Foothill and Shamrock, then fled the scene without stopping. A witness who saw the collision provided the suspect's license plate, which led officers to his residence. His vehicle was located and had matching collision damage. The suspect was contacted in his apartment and was found to be heavily intoxicated. He was positively identified by the victim, and after refusing all tests, he was arrested and taken into custody.

Theft
November 29 at 7:13 p.m., a theft was reported in the 400 block of S. Violet. The resident reported she heard something hit her house window, and when she looked outside, she discovered her car door was open. No one was around the vehicle, but the inside had been ransacked and items were missing. Officers arrived and searched the area for possible suspects, but did not locate anyone. This investigation is continuing.

Public Intoxication – Suspect Arrested
November 29 at 8:21 p.m., a male and female subject were reported yelling at one another next to an apartment complex in the 100 block of Montana. Officers arrived and contacted the two subjects near the street. The male subject was heavily intoxicated and was too drunk to care for himself or his own safety. He was arrested and held for a sobering period.

Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
November 30 at 12:12 a.m., an officer was patrolling the 1500 block of S. Myrtle, when he saw a vehicle stopped in a no parking zone occupied by a male driver. The officer contacted the driver, who appeared to be intoxicated. Field sobriety tests were conducted and the driver was arrested for DUI. He was held for a sobering period.

Injury Traffic Collision
November 30 at 8:46 p.m., a traffic collision was reported at the intersection of Lime and Heliotrope. The two motorists exchanged information and one driver left the scene prior to police being called. The caller discovered the other party’s insurance had expired, and he was suffering from back and neck pain. Officers responded with paramedics from the Monrovia Fire Department, but the caller refused medical assistance.

Driving Under the Influence / Warrants – Suspects Arrested
December 1 at 1:32 a.m., an officer observed a motorist traveling on the wrong side of the road in the 100 block of W. Foothill. He stopped the vehicle, which was occupied by several subjects, and the driver was found to be heavily intoxicated. Field sobriety tests were conducted and he was arrested for DUI. Further investigation revealed he also had a warrant for driving on a suspended license. A passenger in the vehicle was found to have an outstanding warrant and was also arrested.

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia / Warrants – Suspect Arrested
December 1 at 1:43 a.m., an officer was patrolling the 1800 block of S. Myrtle, when he saw a bicyclist commit a vehicle code violation. He stopped the subject, who was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. An investigation revealed he also had multiple outstanding warrants for his arrest. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody.

Felony Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
December 2 at 3:13 a.m., a male subject was reported slumped over in his vehicle, which was stopped in the intersection of Monterey and Huntington with the engine running. Officers responded and found the driver heavily intoxicated. After field sobriety tests were conducted, he was arrested for DUI. During the booking process, the suspect was found to have three prior convictions for DUI, so he was charged with felony DUI.

Injury Traffic Collision
December 2 at 3:45 p.m., a bicyclist was traveling south across Huntington from Shamrock when he was struck by a vehicle turning east onto Huntington from northbound Shamrock. Officers responded with paramedics from the Monrovia Fire Department. The bicyclist suffered pain and redness to his leg and was transported to a hospital for further treatment.

December 2 at 8:40 p.m., officers responded the intersection of Duarte and Encino regarding the report of a suspicious vehicle with a subject inside. Officers arrived and contacted the subject. An investigation revealed he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. He was arrested for the warrant and taken into custody.

December 3 at 3:44 p.m., officers responded to a business in the 400 block of W. Foothill regarding a disturbance. The victim called police to report he had just been slapped by a male subject. Officers checked the area and located a subject matching the given description. He was contacted and after further investigation, the suspect was arrested for battery and taken into custody.

Fraud
December 3 at 6:21 p.m., a victim in the 300 block of W. Huntington advised she tried to cash a check at the location, but was told the check had already been cashed fraudulently. Officers arrived and conducted an investigation. The investigation is continuing.

Warrant – Suspect Arrested
December 4 at 8:16 a.m., a caller reported a suspicious male loitering in the 100 block of E. Colorado. Officers arrived and recognized the subject from past encounters. An investigation revealed the subject had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. He was arrested for the warrant and taken into custody.

Injury Traffic Collision
December 4 at 6:43 p.m., two vehicles collided into each other at the intersection of Huntington and Mayflower. One of the involved parties complained of pain. Officers responded with paramedics from the Monrovia Fire Department. An investigation was completed and the responsible party was cited for unsafe speed.

Injury Traffic Collision
November 21 at 7:26 a.m., officers responded to the intersection of California and Los Angeles regarding a traffic collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. A vehicle was attempting to enter traffic on California from Los Angeles, when two pedestrians entered the crosswalk. The vehicle continued forward and drove over the foot of one of the pedestrians. The pedestrian was checked by paramedics from the Monrovia Fire Department, and the driver was cited for failing to yield to a pedestrian.

Warrant – Suspect Arrested
November 21 at 7:47 p.m., an officer was on patrol near the intersection of Duarte and Alamitas, when he saw a male subject lean into the open window of a parked vehicle. The officer then noticed two other vehicles parked nearby with the doors open. The officer contacted the subject and the investigation revealed he was the owner of the vehicles, but he was found to have a warrant for his arrest. The subject was arrested for the warrant.

Suspended Driver’s License / Warrants – Suspect Arrested
November 22 at 10:40 a.m., an officer was working traffic enforcement near the intersection of Colorado and Shamrock, when he saw a vehicle speed through a stop sign. The officer initiated a traffic stop, and the investigation revealed the driver had a suspended license and numerous warrants for his arrest. The driver was arrested and taken into custody.

Residential Burglary
November 22 at 2:02 p.m., officers responded a residence in the 300 block of Prospect regarding the report of a burglary. The residence had been broken into sometime during the day. The suspect entered the home through a bathroom window and electronics items were taken. This investigation is continuing.

Grand Theft Auto
November 22 at 5:33 p.m., a male subject came to the Monrovia Police Department lobby to report a stolen motorcycle. The motorcycle was parked in the 100 block of Los Angeles and had been taken sometime during the night. This investigation is continuing.

Trespassing / Possession of a Controlled Substance / Possession of a Replica Gun – Suspects Arrested
November 22 at 6:37 p.m., a resident in the 100 block of E. El Norte reported the lights turning on and off in his neighbor's vacant house. Officers responded and found the front door unlocked and open. A female subject who did not live in the house was found inside. The female subject was arrested for trespassing and taken into custody. Officers notified the owner they would extra patrol the location because it could not be secured. At 8:37 p.m., an officer drove by the location on extra patrol and saw a male subject exiting the same house. He contacted the subject, who did not have permission to be inside the home. The male subject said he went inside to meet with the female subject who was arrested earlier. He was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and a toy gun he painted black and removed the red tip from, which appeared to be an actual handgun. He was arrested and taken into custody.

Injury Traffic Collision
November 22 at 6:40 p.m., a caller reported a pedestrian was struck by a slow moving vehicle on private property at a car dealership in the 700 block of E. Central. The pedestrian did not have any visible injuries, but complained of pain and was transported to a nearby hospital.

Wanted Person – Suspect Arrested
November 22 at 10:46 p.m., an employee at a business in the 300 block of W. Huntington called police to report a female subject who arrived to pick up an order purchased online with a stolen credit card. Officers arrived and contacted the subject, who said she was picking up the order for a friend. Further investigation revealed she was wanted by Burbank Police Department for fraud. She was arrested and taken into custody.

Warrant – Suspect Arrested
November 23 at 2:42 a.m., an officer was on patrol in the 1600 block of S. Shamrock when he saw a male subject exiting a closed car dealership. Investigation revealed he had a warrant for his arrest. There were no signs any crime had occurred at the dealership. The subject was arrested for the warrant and taken into custody.

Mail Theft
November 23 at 11:01 a.m., a resident who lives in an apartment complex in the 200 block of S. Fifth reported that sometime during the night, the mailboxes at the complex had been pried open. Officers responded and conducted an investigation. A camera system in the area recorded a possible suspect. This investigation is continuing.

Vandalism
November 23 at 3:59 p.m., officers responded to the Gold Line pedestrian walkway in the 1600 block of S. Primrose regarding a suspect vandalizing the mosaic tiles. Officers conducted an area check, but were unable to locate the suspect. This investigation is continuing.

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia / Warrant – Suspect Arrested
November 23 at 9:01 p.m., an officer was patrolling the 300 block of E. Duarte when he saw a male bicyclist commit a Vehicle Code violation. He stopped the bicyclist, who was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. Further investigation revealed he also had a warrant for his arrest. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody.

In Closed Park After Hours / Possession of a Controlled Substance / Warrant – Suspect Arrested
November 23 at 11:26 p.m., an officer was patrolling Station Square Park in the 1600 block of S. Myrtle, which was closed to the public. He saw a male subject loitering in the closed park and contacted him. The subject was found to be in possession of a controlled substance and had a warrant for his arrest. He was arrested and taken into custody.

Drunk in Public – Suspect Arrested
November 25 at 2:57 a.m., an officer was dispatched to the 800 block of S. Mayflower regarding an adult female banging on a resident’s door. The resident did not know the female subject. The officer determined the female subject was too intoxicated to care for herself or her own safety. She was arrested for public intoxication and held for a sobering period.

Vehicle Burglary
November 25 at 10:09 a.m., a vehicle burglary was reported in the 400 block of E. Colorado. Officers responded and conducted an investigation. It was unknown if anything was taken. This investigation is continuing.

Commercial Burglary
November 25 at 12:56 p.m., officers responded to the report of a burglary at a storage unit in the 2100 block of S. Myrtle. Upon arrival, the officers found that the lock had been cut off. This investigation is continuing.

Theft – Suspect Arrested
November 25 at 4:39 p.m., a female subject entered a grocery store in the 100 block of W. Foothill and took two bottles of alcohol. She then exited the store without any attempt to pay for the items. She was detained by loss prevention until officers arrived. After investigation, the subject was arrested for shoplifting and released on a citation to appear in court on the charge.

Theft – Suspect Arrested
November 25 at 8:40 p.m., a female subject entered a business in the 100 block of W. Foothill and concealed approximately $300 worth of medication on her person. She then walked out of the store without making any attempt to pay for the merchandise. She was detained by loss prevention until officers arrived. After investigation, the subject was arrested for shoplifting and was released on a citation to appear in court on the charge.

Vandalism
November 25 at 11:09 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 700 block of Ocean View regarding a report of a gunshot being heard. Only one call was received reporting the gunshot. Further investigation revealed an unknown suspect threw a ball bearing through the front window of a residence. No one was injured. This investigation is continuing.

Theft
November 26 at 9:31 a.m., the owner of a business in the 700 block of W. Huntington called to report a theft that had occurred the day before. Officers arrived and found that approximately $300 worth of lottery tickets had been stolen. This investigation is continuing.

Theft
November 26 at 12:35 p.m., the owner of a business in the 900 block of W. Duarte called to report a theft of lottery tickets from the previous Friday. Officers arrived and found that approximately $100 worth of lottery tickets had been stolen. This investigation is continuing.

Lost Hikers Located
November 26 at 2:47 p.m., a hiker on Clam Shell Road, just north of Monrovia, called to report he and another hiker were lost. The Monrovia Fire Department was notified to also respond. The Foothill Air Support Team helicopter was able to locate the hikers and hoisted both subjects out of the canyon. There were no injuries.

November 7 at 8:29 a.m., a resident in the 400 block of Norumbega called to report several personal items were stolen from his unlocked vehicle overnight. Hand tools worth over one thousand dollars were taken. Investigation continuing.

Grand Theft Auto / Possession of Shaved Keys – Suspect Arrested
November 7 at 10:13 a.m., an officer was on patrol in the 800 block of S. Myrtle when a license plate reader detected a stolen vehicle traveling north on Myrtle. The officer located the vehicle, conducted a traffic stop and the driver was detained without incident. The driver was found to be in possession of shaved keys, which he used to operate the vehicle. He was arrested and taken into custody.

Injury Traffic Collision
November 7 at 6:38 p.m., a motorist was traveling in the 600 block of Court Street when they struck a parked vehicle, causing their vehicle to roll over. The driver sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene by Monrovia Paramedics. The owner of the parked vehicle was notified.

Non-Injury Traffic Collision
November 7 at 7:04 p.m., a motorist was traveling south in the 1500 block of S. Myrtle and proceeded to make a left turn onto eastbound Pomona, failing to yield to oncoming traffic. Another motorist was traveling north on Myrtle and the two vehicles struck each other. The party at fault was issued a citation.

Warrant Arrest – Suspect Arrested
November 8 at 1:11 a.m., an officer was patrolling the 2000 block of S. Myrtle when he saw a bicyclist commit a vehicle code violation. The officer stopped the bicyclist and explained the reason for the stop. A computer check revealed the bicyclist had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. He was arrested per the authority of the warrant.

Injury Traffic Collision
November 8 at 2:53 p.m., a traffic collision was reported in the 800 block of S. Mayflower. Officers arrived and checked on the drivers. One of the drivers had a large laceration on her foot and was bleeding heavily. The officer used his tourniquet on her leg to stop the bleeding. Monrovia Paramedics arrived and treated the driver for her injuries. She was transported to a local hospital for further treatment. Investigation continuing.

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspect Arrested
November 8 at 6:25 a.m., employees of a bank in the 200 block of S. Myrtle reported a suspicious male subject sitting in his car most of the day, parked in the bank's parking lot and he was refusing to leave. Officers arrived and contacted the subject, who appeared to be under the influence of narcotics. The subject was also found to be in possession of illegal hydrocodone pills and a hypodermic syringe. He was arrested and taken into custody.

Warrant – Suspect Arrested
November 8 at 8:44 p.m., an officer was on patrol in the 3300 block of S. Peck when he saw a motorhome illegally parked. A computer check of the license plate revealed there was a warrant for the registered owner. The officer saw a male subject standing next to the motorhome who identified himself as the registered owner. His identity was confirmed and he was arrested for the warrant.

Petty Theft
November 8 at 11:13 p.m., a customer of a grocery store in the 100 block of W. Foothill left his backpack on a table in front of the store, then walked away for about five minutes. When he returned, his backpack had been stolen. The backpack contained an iPhone, a speaker, and his wallet with his identification and cash. This investigation is continuing.

Injury Traffic Collision
November 9 at 7:33 a.m., a caller reported a traffic collision at the intersection of Eighth and Duarte. An officer responded and checked on the welfare of both drivers. One driver complained of pain. Paramedics arrived on scene and treated the injured party. The driver at fault was issued a citation.

Vandalism
November 9 at 3:19 p.m., a vandalism incident was reported at a business parking lot in the 400 block of S. Myrtle. The victim parked his vehicle behind the business and went into work. Sometime between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. his vehicle was spray painted with graffiti. Investigation continuing.

Injury Traffic Collision
November 9 at 4:02 p.m., a traffic collision was reported at the intersection of Mountain and Huntington. An officer responded and checked on the welfare of both drivers. One of the drivers complained of pain to her chest. Paramedics arrived and treated the injured party and she was transported to a local hospital for further treatment. Investigation continuing.

Possession of a Controlled Substance – Suspect Issued Citation
November 9 at 9:42 p.m., an officer was patrolling the 900 block of E. Huntington when he saw a bicyclist commit a vehicle code violation. The officer stopped the bicyclist, who admitted to being in possession of a methamphetamine pipe. The officer recovered the pipe and the subject was issued a citation to appear in court on the charges.

Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance / Possession of a Controlled Substance – Suspects Arrested
November 10 at 11:21 a.m., a caller reported a possible drunk driver in the 900 block of W. Duarte. Officers responded to the location and saw the vehicle parked in a parking lot of a business. There were two occupants inside the vehicle. After investigation, both subjects were determined to be under the influence and in possession of narcotics. They were arrested and taken into custody.

Grand Theft Auto
November 10 at 7:30 p.m., a resident from the 1500 block of S. Mayflower called police to report his vehicle had been stolen from the front of his residence. The vehicle is a red, 1997, Nissan pickup with Arizona plates. The investigation is continuing.

Possession of a Controlled Substance – Suspect Issued Citation
November 11 at 1:52 a.m., an officer was patrolling the 1600 block of S. Primrose when he saw a bicyclist commit a vehicle code violation. He was stopped and found to be in possession of heroin. He was issued a citation to appear in court on the charges and released.

Petty Theft of Package
November 11 at 8:45 p.m., a resident in the 900 block of California called to report a package was taken off his porch without his permission. Investigation continuing.

Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
November 11 at 10:26 p.m., an officer observed a vehicle make a left turn from the wrong lane in the 900 block of E. Evergreen. The driver displayed signs of being under the influence of alcohol. A DUI investigation was conducted and it was determined the driver was driving under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested and held for a sobering period.

Falsifying Vehicle Registration – Suspect Arrested
November 12 at 3:34 a.m., an officer was on patrol in the 800 block of E. Olive when he saw a vehicle with two different license plates attached to it, neither matched the actual vehicle. There was one occupant in the vehicle. Further investigation revealed the subject put two different license plates on the vehicle because the vehicle registration was expired. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody.

Theft / Fraud
November 12 at 2:42 p.m., a caller reported her wallet was taken while she was shopping at a business in the 600 block of W. Huntington. She said a female subject distracted her while she was looking at items. When she went to the checkout stand to pay for her  merchandise, she noticed her wallet was missing. Shortly after, she called her bank to report her credit card stolen and was advised it had already been used at two locations. Investigation continuing.

Shoplifting
November 13 at 2:22 p.m., an employee from a business in the 500 block of W. Huntington called to report a known female from previous shoplifting incidents had returned to the store. The subject concealed several items in a bag she brought in with her. She exited the store with the concealed merchandise without paying. Officers checked the area, but did not locate the subject. Investigation continuing.

October 31 at 12:35 a.m., a victim called to report his vehicle was just stolen from the 1300 block of S. Alta Vista. The victim said he saw a suspicious person riding a bicycle in the area before his vehicle was taken. Officers arrived and searched the area for the vehicle but did not locate it. The investigation is continuing.

Drug Activity – Suspect Arrested
October 31 at 8:15 a.m., a resident in the 200 block of W. Cherry reported two people possibly living in their vehicle in front of her house. Officers arrived and located the two subjects. Both subjects lived on nearby streets and had fallen asleep in their vehicle the night before due to being under the influence of a controlled substance. One subject was still in possession of a controlled substance he was arrested and taken into custody.

October 31 at 2:15 p.m., the manager of a non-profit business in the 700 block of W. Chestnut reported one of their vans was stolen from their parking lot. The video surveillance shows it was stolen at 4:00 a.m. Officers arrived and searched the area for the vehicle but did not locate it. The investigation is continuing.

Shoplifting
October 31 at 6:53 p.m., officers were dispatched to a business in the 200 block of E. Foothill regarding a shoplifting report. The employee told the officers a female subject in her twenties entered the store, grabbed a large bottle of Vodka and ran out of the store. The subject then entered a gray vehicle and drove away without paying. The investigation is continuing.

Vehicle Burglary
November 1 at 3:18 a.m., a victim reported his locked vehicle had been burglarized while parked in the 600 block of W. Huntington. The vehicle’s window had been shattered to gain entry and several items inside were stolen. The investigation is continuing.

Commercial Burglary
November 1 at 2:19 p.m., officers responded to a business in the 300 block of W. Huntington on the report of a burglary. The rear door of the business was pried open sometime during the night. The front of the business was ransacked and money was taken. The investigation is continuing.

Vehicle Burglary
November 1 at 7:19 p.m., a resident in the 800 block of W. Olive reported her vehicle had been burglarized over the past two days. Personal items were stolen from inside her vehicle. The investigation is continuing.

Bicycle Pursuit / Warrants – Suspect Arrested
November 2 at 1:09 a.m., officers on patrol stopped a bicyclist for a vehicle code violation at the intersection of Myrtle and Spanner. The suspect fled from officers, knowing he had warrants for his arrest. While fleeing, the suspect collided on his bicycle with the patrol vehicle of another responding officer. The suspect then fled on foot before he was apprehended. The suspect was treated for a complaint of pain to his arm at a local hospital, however, he had no visible injuries. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody.

November 2 at 3:55 p.m., an officer was on patrol near the intersection of Lime and Ivy and conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a vehicle code violation. A computer check revealed the driver had multiple warrants for his arrest. The driver was arrested per the authority of the warrants. During the arrest the driver displayed signs and symptoms of being under the influence. Further investigation revealed the driver to be driving under the influence of alcohol. The driver was arrested and taken into custody.

Possession of a Controlled Substance / Warrant – Suspect Arrested
November 2 at 8:32 p.m., officers responded to a call of a possible shoplifting in a business in the 1300 block of S. Mayflower. The officers contacted a female subject. An investigation was conducted and it was determined no shoplifting had occurred, however, a computer check revealed she had a warrant for her arrest. She was also found to be in possession of a syringe and a controlled substance hidden in her clothing. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody.

Theft
November 2 at 10:29 p.m., officers were dispatched to a business in the 400 block of W. Huntington on the report of a theft. The caller reported the theft occurred earlier that night. A male subject took approximately $1,200 worth of vitamins and supplements and hid them in a plastic bag. The theft was not discovered until later in the evening. This investigation is ongoing.

November 2 at 10:39 p.m., officers in the 1300 block of Orange conducted a traffic stop on a bicyclist for a vehicle code violation. A computer check revealed the subject had a warrant for his arrest. The subject was arrested per the authority of the warrant and issued a citation.

Residential Burglary
November 2 at 10:59 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 1100 block of Carmelita. The victim reported he had been away from his residence most of the day. He returned home in the evening and found his house had been ransacked. The point of entry appears to be a rear bedroom window that was left open. The investigation is continuing.

November 3 at 10:44 p.m., a victim reported his vehicle had been broken into while parked in the 600 block of E. Huntington. Officers arrived and confirmed that one of the vehicle’s windows was smashed and a burglary had occurred. The investigation is continuing.

November 4 at 4:11 p.m., officers responded to a traffic collision at the intersection of Mountain and Royal Oaks. Two vehicles collided into each other. One of the driver’s complained of pain, she was treated by paramedics from the Monrovia Fire Department.

November 4 at 10:26 p.m., a vehicle burglary was reported in the 800 block of E. Olive. The victim reported his vehicle was broken into. Officers responded and discovered that items from inside the vehicle’s trunk had been taken. The investigation is continuing.

November 5 at 12:39 p.m., a victim reported her vehicle was burglarized while parked in the 1100 block of S. Fifth. Officers arrived and saw that a window to her vehicle had been smashed and items were missing from inside. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate any suspects. November 5 at 8:42 p.m., a theft was reported in the 1400 block of Alamitas. The victim reported tools were taken from his unlocked vehicle while parked. The investigation is continuing.

November 6 at 9:07 a.m., officers were on patrol in the 800 block of E. Huntington when they heard a vehicle collide into the entrance of a nearby building. The driver had mistakenly accelerated forward instead of backing up. The driver complained of pain and was taken to the hospital.

October 24 at 8:17 a.m., a resident in the 1700 block of S. Fifth called to report his vehicle had been stolen. The victim parked his vehicle in front of his residence in the evening and returned the following day to discover it missing. The vehicle is a gray, 1997 Honda Civic. Later that day at 2:26 p.m., an officer was on patrol near Fifth and Duarte when he saw the stolen vehicle in the street with the engine running. The vehicle was unoccupied. The officer recovered the vehicle and it was returned to the owner. The investigation is continuing.

October 24 at 8:09 a.m., a resident in the 600 block of Parker called police to report his vehicle had been burglarized. The victim’s vehicle was locked inside his open garage and someone pried the rubber around the window to gain entry. A pair of sunglasses was taken. Investigation continuing.

October 24 at 10:31 a.m., a vehicle was reported stolen from the 300 block of W. Duarte. The victim parked his vehicle in front of his residence at 5:00 a.m. and made sure it was locked. The vehicle is a blue, 1996 Honda Civic. The victim returned to his vehicle at 10:00 a.m., discovered his vehicle missing and called police. Investigation continuing.

Grand Theft Auto – Suspects Arrested
October 24 at 4:02 p.m., an employee from a business in the 100 block of W. Foothill called police to report a male and female for shoplifting. The female entered the passenger seat of a vehicle in the parking lot. The male exited the store and walked west through the parking lot. Officers arrived and observed the two subjects and the vehicle, but as they were arriving, the female moved into the driver's seat and drove away. A license plate check on the vehicle revealed the vehicle was reported stolen vehicle out of Pomona. Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and the female was arrested for driving a stolen vehicle. A computer check revealed the male subject had an outstanding warrant for his arrest and he was taken into custody. The vehicle was returned to its rightful owner.

Being in a Park After Closing Hours – Suspect Cited
October 24 at 10:43 p.m., officers were walking through Library Park in the 300 S. Myrtle after closing time when they came across a female subject. She said she knew of the posted park hour signs and knew she should not be there. She was issued a citation for being in the park after closing hours.

Warrants – Suspect Arrested
October 24 at 11:43 p.m., officers were patrolling the area of Alta Vista and Duarte when they saw a suspicious male subject loitering next to a home that was unoccupied. They stopped to talk to the subject and a computer check revealed he had five drug related warrants for his arrest. He was arrested and taken into custody.

Warrant / Possession of a Methamphetamine / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspect Arrested
October 25 at 2:17 a.m., officers were patrolling the 700 block of W. Huntington when they saw a suspicious male subject on a bicycle. During a consensual stop, it was discovered that the subject had a warrant for his arrest. He was arrested and taken into custody. During a search incident to arrest, he was found to be in possession of a pipe that had been used to smoke methamphetamine.

Public Intoxication – Suspect Arrested
October 25 at 2:49 a.m., an officer was extra patrolling Station Square in the 1600 block of S. Myrtle when he saw a female subject sitting on a bench with her head bobbing back and forth. He contacted the subject and found she was heavily intoxicated. The officer determined she was too intoxicated to care for her own safety and she was arrested and taken into custody. She was held for a sobering period.

Hit & Run Traffic Collision
October 25 at 3:29 a.m., a resident in the 100 block of W. Cypress reported a motorist had just collided into a parked car on their street and fled the scene. Officers responded to the area, but were unable to locate the suspect vehicle. This investigation is continuing.

Vehicle Vandalism / Warrant – Suspect Arrested
October 25 at 9:56 p.m., a resident in the 600 block of W. Palm reported she just saw a male subject throw a rock at her parked car, shattering the glass, then he fled the area. Officers responded and located the subject on Violet. After the victim positively identified the suspect, he was arrested for the vandalism. A computer check revealed he also had a warrant for his arrest.

Grand Theft Auto / Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
October 25 at 11:13 p.m., a Lyft driver called the police to report his vehicle had just been stolen in the 500 block of N. Canyon. The driver was transporting two subjects that were heavily intoxicated home to a Monrovia residence when they began touching his leg and making him uncomfortable. The driver stopped his car and exited the vehicle, then ordered the two subjects to get out, which they did. One of them then jumped into vehicle and drove away without permission. The other subject ran from the area.

An officer responded, located the vehicle and stopped it. After field sobriety tests were conducted, the suspect was arrested for DUI and grand theft auto. The vehicle was returned to the Lyft driver.

Public Intoxication – Suspect Arrested
October 26 at 10:49 a.m., a resident in the area of Huntington and California called to report a male adult walking into traffic. Officers arrived and located the subject. He displayed signs of intoxication. It was determined he was too intoxicated to care for himself or his own safety. He was arrested and held for a sobering period.

Wanted Person / Warrant / Trespassing / Assaulting Officers – Suspect Arrested
October 27 at 12:25 a.m., a sergeant was on patrol in the 1900 of S. Peck when he saw a known subject wanted by Arcadia Police Detectives to question as a possible suspect in a rape investigation. A computer check revealed he also had a warrant for his arrest and is on supervised parole for robbery. The subject refused to stop for the sergeant and fled the area.

Approximately ten minutes later, a female resident in the 100 block of E. Evergreen called to report a male subject entered her home through an unlocked door and was refusing to leave. He eventually left the residence and was located by officers on the roof of a home. The suspect was jumping from roof to roof on homes. The suspect fell as he attempted to jump across to another rooftop, causing injury to his ankle and side, but he climbed back up. The Foothill Air Support Team helicopter and additional officers from neighboring agencies responded to assist. The suspect ignored officers telling him to get down, but eventually jumped off one roof and was grabbed by an officer. He fought and kicked the officer several times, but was eventually taken into custody.

Vandalism / Possession of a Controlled Substance / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspect Arrested
October 28 at 2:18 a.m., an officer was patrolling the 800 block of E. Olive when he saw a suspicious vehicle parked in the parking lot of Recreation Park. He contacted the occupant and saw her hands had fresh green paint on them. He searched the area and discovered recent Halloween graffiti in green paint. The suspect admitted to the vandalism. The officer obtained consent to search her vehicle and discovered methamphetamine and a pipe for smoking methamphetamine. The subject was arrested and taken into custody.

Theft of Mail Incidents
October 29 at 9:17 a.m., a resident in the 500 block of W. Duarte called to report ten mailboxes were vandalized at an apartment complex. At 11:05 a.m., a resident in the 800 block of W. Foothill called to report eight more mailboxes had been vandalized. In both incidents the community mailboxes had been pried open. The US Postal Service was notified of the thefts and will be taking over the investigations.

No-bail Warrant / Fraud / Possession of Controlled Substance – Suspects Arrested
October 29 at 7:43 p.m., an officer observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation and he conducted a traffic stop. Investigation revealed the front passenger had a no-bail warrant and was in possession of a controlled substance. A search of the vehicle revealed hundreds of copies of driver's licenses/identification cards and credit card information pertaining to other persons. The passenger was arrested for the warrant and being in possession of a controlled substance. The driver was arrested for identity theft.

Receiving Stolen Property / Possession of a Controlled Substance – Suspects Arrested
October 30 at 2:21 a.m., a resident in the 700 block of W. Lemon called to report a suspicious vehicle driving in the area. Officers responded and eventually located the vehicle in the 800 block of W. Olive, traveling very slowly. The officer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. There were four occupants in the vehicle. The investigation revealed the front passenger was in possession of a controlled substance. A search of the vehicle revealed property belonging to a residence nearby. All four subjects were arrested for receiving stolen property and one was also arrested for possession of a controlled substance.

Petty Theft
October 30 at 12:02 p.m., a victim called to report her vehicle was broken into at Canyon Park while she was hiking. The victim and her friend put their purses in the trunk and went for a hike. When they came back, they drove down to a coffee shop and found their purses were missing when they went to retrieve them. The officer looked at the vehicle and did not see any signs of forced entry. The investigation is continuing.

Petty Theft
October 18 at 8:17 a.m., a resident in the 200 block of N. Canyon called police to report tools were taken from his vehicle. The vehicle was left unlocked and sometime during the night, someone entered the vehicle and removed the tools. Investigation continuing.

October 18 at 8:27 a.m., a resident in the 800 block of W. Walnut called police to report his vehicle had been stolen. The victim parked and locked his red, 2016 Kia Sol in his apartment carport the night before. When he returned to his vehicle in the morning, it was missing. Officers conducted an investigation and located the vehicle in the 800 block of W. Chestnut. The investigation is continuing.

October 18 at 2:04 p.m., an employee from a business in the 400 block of W. Huntington called to report a theft of electronics. A witness told the employee a female and male subject entered the store and removed electronic toothbrushes from a shelf. Both subjects exited the store without paying for the merchandise. They fled in a vehicle prior to law enforcement being notified. Investigation continuing.

Residential Burglary
October 18 at 6:01 p.m., a resident in the 100 block of N. Madison called police to report a neighbor’s home was being burglarized by four male, African American suspects wearing hoodies and masks. The witness saw the suspects attempting to break into the home and confronted them. The suspects ran from the location and fled the area in a white Hyundai. The investigation is continuing.

October 18 at 10:00 p.m., an officer was patrolling the area of Duarte and Alta Vista when he saw a bicyclist riding at night without a bicycle light. He stopped the cyclist, and a computer check revealed he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody for the warrant.

Public Intoxication – Suspect Arrested
October 18 at 10:38 p.m., an officer was on patrol at Station Square when he saw a male subject who appeared in need of assistance. After contacting the subject, he was found to be too intoxicated to care for his own safety. He was arrested and held for a sobering period.

Hit & Run Traffic Collision
October 19 at 12:49 a.m., a caller reported a motorist that collided into a parked car in the 800 block of E. Foothill and fled the scene. Officers searched for the suspect, but were unable to locate him. This investigation is continuing.

Public Intoxication / Medical Assist
October 19 at 2:00 a.m., an officer was on patrol near the 400 block of S. Myrtle when he saw a male subject lying face down in the alley. The subject was found to be extremely intoxicated and paramedics were called. He was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.

Driving Under the Influence / Traffic Collision
October 19 at 10:37 a.m., Monrovia Fire personnel called police to report a solo traffic collision in the 3300 block of S. Peck. When officers arrived, paramedics had the unconscious driver out of the vehicle. The driver smelled of alcohol and there were two empty liquor bottles in the vehicle. A witness said the vehicle was parked along the west curb of peck and slowly drove over the center divider into the wash fence on the east side of Peck. The driver was transported to a hospital, where blood was drawn. A complaint will be filed with the District Attorney’s Office.

Public Intoxication / Delaying Officers – Suspects Arrested
October 19 at 11:59 p.m., two officers were conducting a check at a bar in the 400 block of S. Myrtle. They discovered several male subjects yelling at one another in the street about to fight. Half of the group fled when they saw the officers and others stayed behind. Two of these subjects were too intoxicated to care for their own safety or the safety of others and they were taken into custody. One of these subjects resisted arrest and delayed officers. The suspects were arrested and held for a sobering period.

Public Intoxication – Suspect Arrested
October 20 at 4:14 a.m., a resident in the 100 block of Fowler reported a male subject with no shirt, wearing a joker mask and attempting to open her locked front door. As officers were responding, the resident advised the subject gave up on opening the door and was lying on her front porch. Officers arrived and found the subject was heavily intoxicated. He thought he was at his family's house. He was arrested for public intoxication and held for a sobering period.

Injury Traffic Collision
October 20 at 11:20 a.m., a caller reported an injury traffic collision in the area of Magnolia and Olive. Officers responded and spoke with both drivers. A vehicle was traveling north on Magnolia and was struck by a vehicle traveling west on Olive that failed to yield at the stop sign. One of the drivers complained of pain, but refused medical treatment. The driver at fault was issued a citation.

Warrant / Possession of a Controlled Substance – Suspect Arrested
October 20 at 11:58 a.m., an officer stopped a bicyclist for a traffic violation at Chestnut and Monterey. During the stop, he learned the subject had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. He was arrested and found to be in possession of a small amount of methamphetamine, which was hidden in his socks.

Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
October 21 at 12:32 a.m., an officer was patrolling the area of Huntington and Mayflower when he saw a motorist drive through a solid red light. He stopped the vehicle and found the driver to be intoxicated. After field sobriety tests were conducted, the driver was arrested for DUI. He was taken into custody and held for a sobering period.

Grand Theft Auto – Suspect Arrested
October 21 at 12:07 p.m., an officer on patrol in the 2000 block of S. Myrtle observed a suspicious vehicle. A computer check on the vehicle revealed it was a felony vehicle stolen during an armed robbery in the Los Angeles Police Department's jurisdiction. The vehicle was stopped and the driver matched the suspect description. She surrendered without incident. The suspect was also found to have a no-bail warrant out of Burbank Police Department. She was arrested and taken into custody.

Grand Theft Auto
October 23 at 10:09 a.m., a resident in the 100 block of S. Mayflower called to report his vehicle had been stolen. The victim parked his vehicle in front of his residence the day before and when he returned, his vehicle was gone. The vehicle was entered into the stolen vehicle system. The investigation is continuing.

Illegal Indoor Marijuana Cultivation
October 23 at 6:02 p.m., a caller reported a strong odor of marijuana in the 400 block of Norumbega. Officers arrived and were able to see equipment consistent with marijuana cultivation through a garage window. The tenant stepped out of the residence to speak with the officers and admitted to having a marijuana grow inside the home. She gave officers permission to enter the home. Officers entered and located numerous plants and cultivation equipment. The Fire Department, HAZMAT, and a building inspector responded to the location. The building inspector red-tagged the house due to illegal and unpermitted wiring. The investigation is continuing.

Hit & Run Traffic Collision
October 10 at 4:09 p.m., a caller reported a traffic collision at the intersection of Fifth and Huntington. An officer arrived on scene and conducted an investigation. One of the drivers fled the scene on foot. A witness was able to identify the driver who fled. The investigation is continuing.

Rollover Non-Injury Traffic Collision
October 11 at 6:19 a.m., a rollover traffic collision involving a single vehicle was reported at Fifth and Huntington. Officers responded and located the vehicle, but the driver was not inside. Officers checked the area and found the driver walking away from the scene. He admitted to being the driver of the vehicle, but he left the scene because his license was suspended. He said he spilled hot coffee on himself and jerked the steering wheel, causing the vehicle to hit the center divider. The appropriate action was taken against the driver.

Fraudulent DMV Registration Tabs – Suspect Arrested
October 11 at 9:54 p.m., an officer was patrolling the 100 block of W. Pomona when he located an illegally parked vehicle occupied by one male subject. The vehicle had homemade DMV registration tabs attached to the license plate. The owner admitted to affixing the false tabs to the plate. He was arrested and later released with a citation.

Wanted Person / Weapon Offense – Suspect Arrested
October 12 at 12:34 a.m., a caller reported a suspicious vehicle parked in the 200 block of Kruse that was occupied by a male and female subject. Officers arrived and contacted the occupants. A computer check revealed the male subject was wanted by Los Angeles County Probation. He was also in possession of a dagger, which is a dangerous prohibited weapon in California. He was arrested and taken into custody.

Public Intoxication – Suspect Arrested
October 12 at 2:32 a.m., an officer was on patrol in the 1200 block of S. Myrtle when he saw a male subject stumbling in the street. He stopped the subject and found he was heavily intoxicated and unable to care for his own safety. He was arrested and held for a sobering period.

Theft of Mail/Packages – Suspect Arrested
October 12 at 4:52 p.m., a caller reported a female subject wearing a green hoodie that stole packages from a residence in the 100 block of W. Colorado. The witness contacted the owner, who confirmed the packages were stolen. Officers arrived and detained a female matching the description and the property was recovered. The suspect was positively identified. She was arrested and taken into custody.

Shoplifting – Suspect Arrested
October 12 at 8:53 p.m., an employee from a business in the 500 block of W. Huntington called police to report a female subject that concealed clothing items inside her purse and exited without paying for them. Officers arrived and located the female as she was leaving. The employee placed the female under private person’s arrest. The subject was arrested for shoplifting.

Public Intoxication – Suspect Arrested
October 12 at 10:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to a business in the 900 block of E. Huntington regarding an intoxicated subject inside. Officers arrived and located the subject. The subject was too intoxicated to care for himself and he was arrested for public intoxication. He was held for a sobering period.

Driving Under the Influence / Traffic Collision – Suspect Arrested
October 12 at 11:36 p.m., multiple witnesses reported a hit and run traffic collision at the intersection of Greystone and Canyon. The suspect vehicle fled the scene of the collision. Officers arrived and located the vehicle at Greystone and Myrtle, which had damage and was still occupied by the driver. The driver displayed symptoms of intoxication. After field sobriety tests were conducted, the driver was arrested for DUI and held for a sobering period.

October 13 at 7:22 p.m., a caller reported a male and female subject yelling at one another in the street at Hillcrest and Stedman. Officers responded and found the female had driven away and the male subject stayed behind. While officers were still in the area, the female subject returned. She was found to be heavily intoxicated while driving. After field sobriety tests were conducted, she was arrested for DUI. She was taken into custody and held for a sobering period.

Illegal Indoor Marijuana Cultivation for Sales
October 13 at 9:30 p.m., a caller reported seeing an open door to a building in the 300 block of W. Chestnut. Officers responded and found a large, multi-room marijuana grow and processing center with all stages of growth and processing. The Fire Department, building inspector, and detectives responded. The building was red-tagged due to illegal and dangerous unpermitted wiring and watering systems indoors. This investigation is continuing.

Grand Theft Auto / Stolen Vehicle Recovered – Suspect Arrested
October 14 at 10:05 a.m., an officer was patrolling the 700 block of W. Huntington when he saw a suspicious vehicle. A check on the license plate revealed it was reported stolen out of San Jose. There was a male subject sleeping in the vehicle. The subject was detained and an investigation was conducted. The occupant was the suspect listed on the original stolen vehicle report. The suspect was arrested and the vehicle was recovered.

Shoplifting – Suspect Arrested
October 14 at 10:08 a.m., an employee from a business in the 1600 block of S. Mountain called to report a subject who was in the store concealing merchandise. As he exited the business, a loss prevention employee stopped him. Officers arrived and accepted a private person’s arrest on behalf of the loss prevention employee. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody.

Residential Burglary
October 14 at 11:37 a.m., a resident in the 100 block of James Town called to report their home had been burglarized. Officers arrived and checked the interior of the residence. The master bedroom exit door was shattered. The home was ransacked and items were missing. The investigation is continuing.

Injury Traffic Collision
October 15 at 2:31 p.m., a witness called to report an injury traffic collision at the intersection of California and Evergreen. One motorist failed to stop at a red light and collided into another motorist. One of the parties had a complaint of pain and was treated by Monrovia paramedics at the scene. The driver at fault was issued a citation.

Domestic Violence – Suspect Arrested
October 15 at 5:12 p.m., a caller reported a male and female subject arguing in the 1800 block of Encino. Officers arrived and located the two subjects outside a residence. The investigation revealed they are in a dating relationship and live together. The female complained of pain to hear neck and head. She was treated at the scene by Monrovia paramedics. Officers determined the male was the aggressor and he was arrested for domestic violence and false imprisonment.

Injury Traffic Collision
October 16 at 11:40 a.m., a caller reported an injury traffic collision at the intersection of Myrtle and Walnut. Officers arrived and saw a vehicle that had driven into an open trench, but just the front tires were in the trench. The driver was still in the vehicle and he complained of pain to his knees. Monrovia Fire Department personnel arrived and were able to get the driver out of the vehicle. He was treated at the scene for his injuries. The vehicle was removed from the trench.

Domestic Violence – Suspect Arrested
October 16 at 9:25 p.m., a caller reported a couple arguing inside a residence in the 300 block of Prospect. During a verbal altercation, the girlfriend tore the boyfriend's t-shirt and as she did, she scratched his back. The boyfriend sustained lacerations to his back. He was medically treated at the scene. The girlfriend was arrested for domestic violence and taken into custody.

Monrovia Police Get Money for Traffic Enforcement

The Monrovia Police Department received a $55,000 grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety for a one-year enforcement and education program. The money will fund various activities intended to reduce deaths and injuries on California roads.

"We are committed to keeping everyone safe on the road. We believe through the enforcement of driving and DUI laws, we will reduce injury traffic collisions in Monrovia," said Lt. Daniel Verna.

The grant-related activities are for the 2020 federal fiscal year, which runs from Oct. 1, to Sept. 30, 2020.

Funding from the Office of Traffic Safety will be used for numerous programs, including:

• DUI/driver's license checkpoints.
• Patrols specifically looking for suspected alcohol and/or drug-impaired drivers.
• Patrols targeting violations of California's hands-free cell phone law and vehicle code violations by drivers, motorcyclists, bicyclists and pedestrians that put other roadway users at risk.
• Patrols targeting the primary causes of crashes in Monrovia - speeding, unsafe turning, and right-of-way failure to yield violations.
• Patrols specifically looking for seat belt and child safety seat violations.
• Traffic safety education presentations for youth and community members on distracted and impaired driving, bicycle and pedestrian safety.  DUI Logo
• Serving warrants to multiple DUI offenders.
• Creating "Hot Sheets" identifying repeat DUI offenders.
• Officer training to identify suspected impaired drivers and conduct sobriety tests. 

"Getting in a vehicle remains one of the most dangerous things we do," OTS director Barbara Rooney said. "We must continue to work with our partners in law enforcement to shift that realization and make traveling on our roads safer."

Vandalism / Public Intoxication – Suspect Arrested
October 3 at 10:01 p.m., a citizen called police to report a female subject in the 100 block of W. Palm that had just damaged a light on the exterior of the Monrovia Community Center and was banging her fists on parked cars. Officers responded and located the female subject, who was found to be heavily intoxicated. The witness positively identified the female suspect as the one who caused the damage. She was arrested and taken into custody, where she was held for a sobering period.

Receiving Stolen Property – Suspect Arrested
October 4 at 11:07 a.m., a victim of theft called to report their vehicle was broken into that morning, but they had not reported it to police. As they were driving in the area of Violet and Palm, they saw a male subject with their stolen makeup bag that had been taken from their vehicle. Officers responded and detained the suspect. A search of his person revealed he was also in possession of a credit card and checks that were taken out of another vehicle. The suspect was arrested.

October 4 at 11:30 p.m., an officer on patrol in area of Peck and Duarte stopped a vehicle for unsafe speed and observed symptoms the driver was under the influence. After field sobriety tests were conducted, the subject was arrested for DUI and held for a sobering period.

Warrant / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspect Arrested
October 5 at 1:03 p.m., officers were dispatched to a 9-1-1 Hang up call in the 800 block of W. Duarte. When they contacted the female resident, she claimed she didn't mean to call 911, she only intended to make her boyfriend think she was, and that he'd left the location already. Officers entered the apartment to check on the welfare of the occupants and found a male subject passed out on a couch. When they contacted him, he provided a false name in order to avoid arrest for a warrant. They also found a methamphetamine pipe in his pocket. The subject was arrested.

Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
October 5 at 4:34 a.m., officers were clearing a call near Foothill and Mountain when they observed a vehicle run through the stop sign at the intersection. An officer responded and conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. When he contacted the driver, he observed symptoms of intoxication. After field sobriety tests were conducted, the driver was arrested for DUI and held for a sobering period.

Grand Theft
October 5 at 11:47 a.m., officers responded to a business in the 600 block of W. Huntington regarding a theft of electronics. The suspect fled on foot, heading west on Huntington. Employees described the suspects as two male Hispanics in their late 20's, both wearing hoodies. They grabbed an iPhone and three iPhone watches, and then fled on foot through the parking lot. Officers responded and searched the area, but were unable to find the suspects. The investigation is continuing.

Petty Theft – Suspect Arrested
October 5 at 4:28 p.m., officers responded to a business in the 500 block of W. Huntington regarding a suspect cutting security sensors off clothing. The suspect exited the store with the stolen clothing and was detained by officers. The suspect was arrested for petty theft and released on a citation to appear in court on the charges.

Wanted Person – Suspect Arrested
October 5 at 9:11 p.m., an officer on patrol conducted a traffic stop in the 1400 block of S. Mountain for an equipment violation. A computer check on the driver showed he was a wanted person out of Mississippi for a rape charge. They advised they would extradite. The subject was arrested and taken into custody.

Receiving Stolen Property / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspect Arrested
October 5 at 11:24 p.m., an officer on patrol stopped a bicyclist at Myrtle and Duarte for an equipment violation. The bicyclist was carrying a large box containing an unopened computer. The subject was not able to give a good accounting for how he was in possession of the computer. The box had Walmart stickers on it, so the officer went to Walmart to inquire if it had been stolen. The investigation revealed the computer had been stolen from Walmart, probably minutes before the traffic stop. The subject was arrested for receiving stolen property. During the search incident to arrest, a methamphetamine pipe was found in his pocket. The subject was arrested and taken into custody.

Public Intoxication / Warrants – Suspect Arrested
October 6 at 1:28 a.m., officers were dispatched to a call reporting an intoxicated person knocking on an acquaintance's door. Officers located the subject and determined he was too intoxicated to care for his own safety. He was arrested for public intoxication and provided a false name to officers in the field. It was later discovered that he had two no- bail warrants under his true name, which were added to his charges.

Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
October 6 at 2:26 p.m., an officer on patrol observed a vehicle parked in a no-parking zone in the 400 block of W. Huntington with the driver standing in the number two lane of traffic. The driver entered the vehicle and headed west on Huntington. The officer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and found the driver showed symptoms of intoxication. After field sobriety tests were conducted, the driver was arrested for DUI. She was taken into custody and held for a sobering period.

Vehicle Burglary
October 6 at 9:46 a.m., a vehicle burglary was reported in the 700 block of N. Canyon. The victim parked her vehicle and went hiking in Canyon Park. When the victim returned to her vehicle a couple hours later, she found the passenger-side window had been shattered and her purse, which she had left in the vehicle, was missing. The investigation is continuing.

Vehicle Burglary
October 6 at 5:16 p.m., a vehicle burglary was reported in the 600 block of N. Canyon. The vehicle was parked on the street. When the victim returned a short time later, the front passenger window had been shattered and items left in the vehicle were missing. The investigation is continuing.

Theft
October 6 at 7:29 p.m., a theft was report at Julian Fisher Park in the 900 block of California. The victim fell asleep while lying down in the park, and when he awoke, he noticed his cell phone had been stolen. The investigation is continuing.

Commercial Burglaries
October 7 at 5:31 a.m., officers responded to a business in the 900 block of W. Huntington regarding an alarm activation. Upon arrival, they found one of the windows to the business had been smashed. No suspects were located. As the officers canvassed the area, they located five other businesses along W. Huntington where the windows had been smashed and the businesses where burglarized. The businesses where in the 500, 600 and 900 blocks of Huntington. At two of the locations, the suspects attempted to gain entry to the safes, but were not successful. The investigations are continuing.

Commercial Burglary
October 7 at 12:04 p.m., an additional commercial burglary was reported at a business in the 500 block of W. Huntington. The reporting party came into work and discovered a window on the west side of the business had been smashed. When he looked around to see if anything was missing, he noticed a desk and a bookcase in the back of the store had been ransacked. He was missing an envelope from the desk that contained cash. The investigation is continuing.

Residential Burglary
October 7 at 3:18 p.m., a residential burglary was reported in the 1900 block of S. Peck. The victim parked her vehicle in her attached garage and closed the garage door. The victim left her purse in the vehicle. When she came out the next morning, the purse was missing. The garage door was still closed, but the pedestrian door was unlocked. The investigation is continuing.

Injury Traffic Collision
October 7 at 8:09 p.m., a motorcyclist was traveling west on Longden when the driver of a vehicle made a left turn in front of him and they collided in the intersection of Longden and Peck. The motorcyclist sustained minor scratches to his elbow and had complaint of pain to his wrist. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The driver of the vehicle was given a citation for the traffic violation.

Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance – Suspect Arrested
October 7 at 8:32 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Shamrock and Huntington regarding a male subject waving a knife at people passing by him. Officers located the subject and he was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance. The subject was arrested and held for a sobering period. He was then released on a citation to appear in court on the charges.

Grand Theft Auto / Stolen Vehicle Recovered
October 8 at 2:18 a.m., a vehicle was reported stolen from a parking lot in the 100 block of E. Colorado. The officer took a report and the vehicle was entered into the law enforcement stolen vehicle system. A short time later, the officer located the vehicle in a parking lot in the 100 block of W. Lime. The vehicle was recovered and removed from the stolen vehicle system. Investigation continuing.

Stolen Vehicle Recovered
October 8 at 8:25 a.m., a caller reported a vehicle near Shamrock and Maple that had been parked at the location for several days. An officer arrived, ran the license plate and found that the vehicle had been reported stolen to the Walnut Sheriff’s Department. The vehicle was recovered and removed from the stolen vehicle system. The Walnut Sheriff’s Department was notified.

Robbery
October 8 at 8:07 p.m., officers responded to the 1600 block of S. Mountain regarding an assault in progress. Officers stopped the suspect vehicle as it was fleeing from the scene. The investigation revealed the involved subjects met at the location for a drug transaction. When the suspect refused to pay, a verbal altercation ensued and the argument escalated into a fight. During the fight, one of the suspects produced what looked like a firearm, but ended up being a replica. One of the suspect's friends was returning from a nearby business and saw the fight. He also engaged in the fight. One adult suspect was arrested for robbery and one juvenile suspect was arrested for battery.

Domestic Battery – Suspect Arrested
October 9 at 10:43 p.m., officers responded to the area regarding a domestic violence incident. The investigation revealed that a husband and wife were in a verbal argument that escalated, and the husband punched the wife in the chest. The husband was arrested for domestic battery and taken into custody.

Here are a few questions you can ask yourself to improve your safety as a pedestrian and as a driver:

Do I always pay attention? As a walker, do I always stay on the alert for vehicles around me? As a driver, do I allow distractions to take attention from my primary responsibility of watching the road?

Do I assume too much? Do I think a crosswalk automatically protects me as a walker, or do I look all ways carefully and make eye contact with approaching drivers before crossing? When I’m driving, do I assume that a traffic signal will prevent pedestrians from crossing into my path?

Am I visible? As a pedestrian, am I careful to cross the street only where I’m visible to drivers, and to wear reflective clothing or use a flashlight when it’s dark? As a driver, do I use my headlights in bad weather, early morning and evening?

Do I look for signs of danger? As a walker, am I aware of busy and potentially dangerous intersections, and do I avoid those intersections if possible? As a driver, do I watch for children along the sidewalk and playgrounds, and do I slow down when children are present?

Petty Theft / Jail Escapee – Suspect Arrested
September 26 at 2:38 p.m., officers responded to a business in the 500 block of W. Huntington regarding a subject leaving without paying for merchandise. The subject was stopped by officers and, after investigation, was arrested for theft. The subject was taken into custody and a fingerprint match revealed the subject was a jail escapee from the State of Washington. 

Residential Burglary
September 26 at 6:31 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 400 block of N. Canyon regarding several subjects seen through a surveillance camera entering a back yard. Officers secured the area, but were unable to locate the subjects. The investigation revealed the subjects had entered the residence through a back window and burglarized the location. This investigation is continuing. 

Possession of a Controlled Substance – Suspect Arrested
September 26 at 10:03 p.m., officers on patrol near the intersection of Violet and Colorado saw a suspicious subject. The subject was contacted and found to be in possession of a controlled substance. She was arrested and issued a citation in the field to appear in court on the charges.

September 27 at 12:01 a.m., officers were on patrol in the 500 block of W. Huntington when they saw a subject loitering near a closed business. The subject was contacted and found to be under the influence of a controlled substance. After further investigation, the subject was arrested and held for a sobering period. 

Resisting – Suspect Arrested
September 27 at 12:15 a.m., officers patrolling the 1600 block of S. Myrtle saw a subject in the park after posted hours. The subject was contacted and issued a citation for violation of a Monrovia Municipal Code. The subject refused to sign his citation and was subsequently arrested and taken into custody for his refusal. 

Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance – Suspect Arrested
September 27 at 3:53 a.m., officers were on patrol in the 700 block of W. Huntington when they saw a female subject lying on the ground. She was contacted and found to be under the influence of a controlled substance. After further investigation, she was arrested and held for a sobering period. 

Grand Theft Auto
September 27 at 3:44 p.m., a vehicle was reported stolen from a business parking lot in the 100 block of E. Colorado. Officers responded and conducted an investigation. The vehicle was a gold, 2011, Dodge Ram pickup and was owned by the victim’s company. This investigation is continuing. 

DMV Fraud – Suspect Arrested
September 27 at 8:57 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle code violation near the intersection of Ivy and Foothill. It was discovered the vehicle was displaying false tags on the license plate. Further investigation revealed the DMV paperwork presented by the driver was fraudulent. The driver was arrested for displaying false registration and defrauding the DMV. 

Possession of a Controlled Substance / Warrant – Suspect Arrested
September 28 at 12:39 a.m., an officer was on patrol in the 700 block of W. Huntington when he saw a subject loitering near a closed business. The subject was contacted and displayed signs of being under the influence of a controlled substance. After further investigation, she was also found to be in possession of multiple controlled substances and had multiple warrants for her arrest. The subject was arrested and taken into custody. 

Public Intoxication – Suspect Arrested
September 28 at 2:58 a.m., officers responded to a residence in the 100 block of Acacia regarding an unknown male subject knocking on doors. Officers found a subject matching the description in the area. The subject was found to be too intoxicated to care for his own safety. The subject was arrested for public intoxication and held for a sobering period. 

Vehicle Burglary
September 28 at 1:00 p.m., a vehicle burglary was reported in the 500 block of W. Duarte. The vehicle was broken into sometime during the night and had been ransacked. A laptop computer was stolen from inside the vehicle. This investigation is continuing. 

Residential Burglary
September 28 at 3:20 p.m., a resident in the 300 block of W. Lime called police to report his home had been burglarized sometime during the day. Officers arrived and secured the residence. An investigation revealed the suspects entered through an open bathroom window and fled out the backdoor. The victim reported that money and firearms were among the items missing. This investigation is continuing. 

Theft
September 28 at 6:38 p.m., a theft from a vehicle was reported in the 1200 block of S. Alta Vista. The victim reported items were missing from his parked vehicle. The vehicle had been left unsecured and the interior was ransacked. This investigation is continuing. 

Public Intoxication – Suspect Arrested
September 29 at 3:44 a.m., an officer was on patrol near the intersection of Primrose and Cypress and observed a subject lying in the street, displaying signs of intoxication. The officer made contact with the subject and determined she was too intoxicated to care for her own safety. The subject was arrested and held for a sobering period. 

Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
September 29 at 7:11 p.m., officers responded to the 200 block of Poinsettia regarding a suspicious vehicle. The driver was asleep behind the wheel with the ignition running. An investigation revealed the driver was intoxicated and had been driving while under the influence of alcohol. The driver was arrested for DUI and held for a sobering period. 

Vehicle Burglary
September 29 at 11:01 p.m., officers responded to the 700 block of W. Huntington regarding a vehicle burglary. A window had been smashed and multiple items were taken from inside. This investigation is continuing. 

Vehicle Burglary
September 29 at 11:55 p.m., officers responded to the 100 block of W. Cypress regarding a vehicle burglary. The rear, driver-side window had been smashed sometime during the evening and a bag was taken from inside. This investigation is continuing. 

Warrant / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspect Arrested
September 30 at 2:18 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle code violation near the intersection of Royal Oaks and Sierra Terrace. The investigation revealed the passenger had a warrant for her arrest. She was also found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. The passenger was arrested and taken into custody. 

Medical Assist / Felon in Possession of a Firearm – Suspect Arrested
September 30 at 7:21 a.m., officers responded to a residence in the 900 block of E. Huntington regarding an unresponsive male subject. Upon arrival, they learned the subject had overdosed on a controlled substance. Officers administered Naloxone and the subject began breathing and regained consciousness. The subject was then treated by Monrovia Fire Paramedics and transported to the hospital. While in the residence, officers observed and located a loaded firearm. They saw a second occupant flee the location on foot. When he returned for his vehicle, he was 

detained. The investigation revealed he was a felon in possession of a firearm. He was arrested and taken into custody. 

Theft From a Vehicle
September 30 at 8:44 a.m., a theft from a vehicle was reported in the 800 block of Wildrose. The victim reported that an unknown suspect had stolen his wallet from his vehicle. The suspect’s vehicle was described as a white pickup truck. This investigation is continuing. 

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspect Arrested
October 1 at 7:05 a.m., a caller reported a subject had checked the door lock on his neighbor’s vehicle, which was parked in the 700 block of W. Lemon. Officers located the suspect in the area and a consensual search revealed he was in possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arrested and issued a citation in the field to appear in court on the charges. 

Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance – Suspect Arrested
October 1 at 10:39 p.m., an officer was patrolling in the 100 block of W. Palm when he saw a subject he recognized from previous encounters, who appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance. After further investigation, the subject was arrested and taken into custody. 

Battery
October 2 at 11:56 a.m., a male subject called police to report his brother hit him and scratched his neck while at a residence located on the 800 block of W. Foothill. Officers and paramedics from the Monrovia Fire Department responded. The victim was transported to a hospital for treatment. This investigation is continuing. 

Theft – Suspects Arrested
October 2 at 4:37 p.m., an officer conducting a follow up investigation at a business in the 500 block of W. Huntington was told by employees there were two suspicious subjects inside the store. The subjects were both concealing unpaid merchandise inside their clothing. They were contacted by the officer and arrested for shoplifting. Both subjects were issued a citation in the field to appear in court on the charges. 

Theft – Suspect Arrested
October 2 at 9:21 p.m., officers responded to a business in the 100 block of W. Foothill regarding a suspect leaving the store without paying for merchandise. Officers located the subject and conducted an investigation for shoplifting. After investigation, the subject was arrested and issued a citation in the field to appear in court on the charges.
