Former Monrovia High School standout Ashley Sanchez was named National Women's Soccer League Player of the Week and August Player of the Month. Playing for the North Carolina Courage, Sanchez scored three goals against the Chicago Stars, bringing her season total to 18 goals — the most ever by an American player in a single NWSL season.
