Monrovia Police Department is conducting extra patrols through New Year's Day as part of the national "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" effort, targeting drivers suspected of being under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Police say that if you plan to drink or take any performance inhibiting drugs, plan ahead to have a designated driver, use public transit, taxis, or ride-share services.
