Pasadena Humane will hold its fourth annual Wildlife Day on Saturday, Oct. 17, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 361 S. Raymond Ave., Pasadena. The free, family-friendly event includes wildlife expert talks, ambassador animals, children's crafts, junior birding activities, DIY binoculars, conservation groups, and a marketplace with nature-inspired art, native plants and handmade gifts.
Talks cover wildlife rehabilitation at 11:15 a.m.; keeping pets and wildlife safe on walks at 11:40 a.m.; living with bears at 12:15 p.m.; Amazon parrot roosts at 1:15 p.m.; and environmental justice in community science and conservation at 2:15 p.m. Details and RSVP.

Miss Honey is a professional cuddler in the making! This 2-year-old pittie at Pasadena Humane likes to take her time checking out the world, pausing to observe the action before deciding it’s time for more of her favorite thing: pets. Once she warms up, she’ll lean right into you, paw gently for attention, and even try to climb into your lap for extra snuggles.
She may need a little encouragement when trying new things, but her sweet, people-loving nature is impossible to miss. Miss Honey’s idea of a perfect day? New adopters will receive a complimentary health-and-wellness exam from VCA Animal Hospitals, as well as a goody bag filled with information about how to care for your pet. Pets may not be available for adoption and cannot be held for potential adopters by phone calls or email.

The Monrovia Association of Fine Arts will offer a watercolor workshop with instructor Pete Morris Wednesday, Oct. 28, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Monrovia Community Center, 119 W. Palm. Monrovia High School students Brandon Chou, Hillary Leng and Aris He have been selected for the Los Angeles County Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council for 2026–27. Chou is in 11th grade; Leng and He are in 12th grade. They will share student perspectives on educational issues and connect with students from across the county.

Canyon Early Learning Center students celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month with a performance of traditional Mexican folklórico dances. The visiting dance group introduced students to Mexico’s music, colorful costumes and cultural traditions.

Monrovia Fire & Rescue will hold a Fire Prevention Week open house at Fire Station 101, 141 E. Lemon Ave., on Saturday, Oct. 10, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be games, fire demonstrations, station tours and fire safety tips built around this year's theme, "Charge Into Fire Safety," which focuses on charging batteries safely.
