OCTOBER 1
Drug Activity – Suspect Arrested
At 1:27 a.m., an officer patrolling the 1500 block of S. Myrtle contacted a subject. A computer search revealed the subject had a warrant for his arrest. Further investigation revealed he was in possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arrested and taken into custody.
Drug Activity – Suspect Arrested
At 1:41 a.m., while patrolling the area of Huntington and California an officer saw a vehicle in violation of a vehicle code. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was contacted. An investigation revealed he was in possession of drug paraphernalia and a controlled substance. He was arrested and taken into custody.
Drug Activity / Court Order Violation – Suspects Arrested
At 2:11 p.m., a caller in the 1400 block of S. Myrtle reported two suspicious subjects sitting in a parked vehicle. Officers arrived and made contact with a male and female subject inside the vehicle. A computer search revealed there was an active court order protecting the female subject from the male subjects. An investigation revealed both subjects were in possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. They were both arrested and taken into custody.
OCTOBER 2
Grand Theft – Suspects Arrested
At 11:05 a.m., an employee from a business in the 700 block of E. Huntington a shoplifting incident. Officers arrived and located the suspects outside the store. They were arrested and taken into custody.
Battery
At 2:27 p.m., a resident walked into the MPD lobby to report that his juvenile daughter was struck in the head by a student. The involved student was located and issued a citation.
Resist / Delay Arrest – Suspect Arrested
At 7:40 p.m., officers patrolling the 100 block of W. Foothill attempted to stop a juvenile regarding a vehicle code violation. The juvenile fled and was apprehended a short distance away. The juvenile was arrested.
Drug Arrest – Suspect Arrested
At 8:59 p.m., a disturbance was reported in the 100 block of W. Foothill. Officers arrived and located the male subject causing the disturbance. He was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arrested and taken into custody.
Public Intoxication – Suspect Arrested
At 9:42 p.m., while patrolling the area of Mayflower and Diamond, an officer made contact with a subject. An investigation revealed the subject was too intoxicated to care for himself. He was arrested and transported to the MPD jail to be held for a sobering period.
OCTOBER 3
Resisting / Public Intoxication – Suspect Arrested
At 1:43 a.m., while patrolling the area of Magnolia and Walnut an officer saw a male subject who appeared to be intoxicated. The officer made contact with the subject. The subject became uncooperative and attempted to flee. The subject was apprehended, arrested and transported to the MPD jail to be held for a sobering period.
Battery – Suspects Arrested
At 11:21 a.m., a fight was reported in the 300 block of E. Lime. Officers arrived and made contact with the parties involved. An investigation revealed that a subject threw a rock at a moving vehicle. The driver stopped, exited the vehicle and punched the other subject. Both subjects were arrested and taken into custody.
Shoplifting – Suspects Arrested
At 3:39 p.m., an employee from a business in the 700 block of E. Huntington reported a shoplifting incident. Officers arrived and located the suspects outside the store. Both suspects were arrested and taken into custody.
OCTOBER 4
Battery
At 12:40 a.m., a disturbance was reported at a residence in the 1600 block of S. Mayflower. Officers arrived and made contact with the parties involved. An investigation revealed that a verbal altercation between two subjects had escalated into a physical confrontation. Two additional subjects attempted to intervene and were subsequently battered. All involved parties declined prosecution.
Grand Theft Auto
At 1:17 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 600 block of W. Olive regarding a stolen vehicle. This investigation is continuing.
Assault with a Deadly Weapon
At 5:14 p.m., a fight was reported at a park in the 600 block of S. Shamrock, where the injured party had fled the scene. Officers arrived and made contact with witnesses and determined that two individuals had engaged in a physical altercation. During the fight, one subject was struck in the head with a bat, causing bleeding. This investigation is continuing.
Grand Theft / False Identity – Suspects Arrested
At 8:31 p.m., a customer at a business in the 500 block of W. Huntington Drive reported her cellphone stolen and noted she was tracking its location to a nearby store. Officers responded to the area and tracked the phone to a moving vehicle. After conducting a traffic stop, officers contacted the driver, who provided false identifying information. The stolen cellphone was successfully recovered inside the vehicle, and the driver was arrested and taken into custody.
Grand Theft Auto
At 9:02 p.m., a caller in the 1100 block of Royal Oaks reported a stolen vehicle. Officers responded and with the assistance of Glendale Police Department’s Airship the stolen vehicle was located in Pasadena. The vehicle was recovered, but the suspect was gone prior to officers’ arrival. This investigation is continuing.
OCTOBER 5
Runaway Juvenile
At 9:44 a.m., a mother in the 200 block of S. Violet reported her juvenile daughter as a runaway. She was entered as a missing person. This investigation is continuing.
Shoplifting – Suspect Arrested
At 3:58 p.m., a loss prevention officer for a business in the 500 block of W. Huntington reported a male subject was concealing merchandise and left without paying. Officers arrived and located the suspect as he exited the store. The stolen property was recovered and returned. He was arrested and taken into custody.
Public Intoxication – Suspect Arrested
At 6:08 p.m., a resident in the 1100 block of S. Fifth reported a male subject was trying to get inside her residence. Officers arrived and located the subject nearby. An investigation revealed he was too intoxicated to know where he lived and to care for himself. He was arrested and transported to the MPD jail to be held for a sobering period.
OCTOBER 6
Public Intoxication – Suspect Arrested
At 12:12 a.m., a caller in the 400 block of E. Huntington reported a male subject passed out in front of a business. Officers arrived and made contact with the subject who was found to be too intoxicated to care for himself. He was arrested and transported to the MPD jail to be held for a sobering period.
Vandalism
At 3:58 a.m., a resident in the 700 block of S. Mayflower reported that someone tampered with and damaged the lock to his vehicle. This investigation is continuing.
Sex Offense
At 1:38 p.m., a caller in a business in the 1600 block of S. Mountain reported that he was using the restroom when he saw a male subject recording him from underneath the restroom stall. The investigation is ongoing.
Drug Offense – Suspect Arrested
At 3:26 p.m., officers patrolling near a park in the 1600 block of S. Myrtle saw a subject who was in possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arrested and taken into custody.
Robbery
At 11:14 p.m., a robbery was reported in the 800 block of W. Duarte. Officers arrived and determined that the victim was riding his bicycle when a vehicle with two occupants pulled over, a male subject exited the vehicle positioning his arms as if he were holding a weapon and demanded the victim’s money. The victim handed over money and the suspect fled in the vehicle. This investigation is continuing.
OCTOBER 7
Domestic Battery – Suspect Arrested
At 1:08 a.m., a caller requested a welfare check on his girlfriend at a hotel in the 900 block of W. Huntington. Officers arrived and located the caller in the lobby of the hotel and he appeared heavily intoxicated. An investigation revealed a verbal altercation between the caller and his girlfriend turned physical when he struck her face. He was arrested and taken into custody.
Domestic Violence
At 2:48 p.m., a resident in the 1000 block of Royal Oaks reported hearing yelling from an apartment unit nearby. Officers arrived and located a male subject running away from the complex. The victim confirmed it was a domestic violence incident. This investigation is continuing.
Public Intoxication – Suspect Arrested
At 7:14 p.m., officers responded to a store in the 400 block of W. Huntington regarding a disturbing male subject outside. Officers arrived and located the subject. An investigation revealed he was too intoxicated to care for himself. He was arrested and transported to MPD jail to be held for a sobering period.
