Dinner at Tacos Ensenada, on the north side of Huntington just a bit east of Monterey. Got the Caldo de Pescado (fish soup) for $14.99 and a soda for $2.49. Good and filling.

Dinner at Fillet Sushi

Dinner at Fillet Sushi, on the east side of Myrtle just north of Olive. Got the mustard albacore roll for $21 and a beer for the happy hour price of $7. Very tasty.

Dinner at Mimi‘s, at the corner of Huntington and Mayflower. Got the Hatch  Chicken Flautas for $16.99 and an iced tea for $3.99.

Dinner at La Adelita

Dinner at La Adelita, on the south side of Colorado about a half block east of Myrtle. Got the Tostada Compuesta with carnitas (no, it’s not a salad) for $13.95 and a soda for $3.95. Very nice.

Dinner at JB Burgers

Dinner at JB Burgers, at the southwest corner of Myrtle and Olive. Got a hamburger for $4.95 and a soda for $3.20. Ambiance? Uhh, no. But a great price and a very nice burger.

Lunch at Baja Mar, in the little shopping center at the corner of Foothill, and May. Got three hardshell tacos for $3.99 each and a soda for $3.99. Tasty!

Dinner at Casa Jimenez, on the Mountain side of the Home Depot complex. Got the Caldo Pescado (fish soup) for $17.95 and an iced tea for $3.95. Very good.

Had dinner at Lucious Dumplings, in the shopping center at Sixth and Duarte Road. Got the Mushroom and Pork Sauce over noodles, with broth, for $14.50, and a soda for $2.50. Very good.

Breakfast at Nano Cafe

Had breakfast recently at Nano Cafe, at the corner of Mayflower and Duarte Road. Got the avocado toast for $15.99 and a coffee for $4.49. Great toast and the fruit was really fresh.

Dinner at King’s Wok

Dinner at King's Wok, in the shopping center at the corner of Magnolia and Huntington. Got the Combo C and a drink for $13.88, chicken, shrimp, and noodles. Tasty, reasonably priced, and enough for a second meal.

Dinner at Chili’s

Had dinner at Chili’s tonight, in the Huntington Oaks Shopping Center. Got the Santa Fe Grilled Chicken Salad for $18.29, a cup of Chicken Enchilada Soup or $7.79 (I ate it so it’s not in the picture), and a beer for$7.09. Interestingly, the one thing they don’t serve is… chili. Anyway, it was very good.

Lunch at the new Viola’s Bistro

Lunch at Viola's Bistro, on the east side of Ivy just south of Lemon. Got the Bistro Omelette for $16 and a Mixed Berry Lemonade for $4. Very tasty. And elgant! I was underdressed in a T-shirt. The restaurant opens for dinner starting tomorrow, Friday, August 7, from 4-10 p.m.

Dinner at Ike’s Love & Sandwiches

Dinner at Ike‘s Love & Sandwiches, in the Huntington Oaks shopping center. Got the Hunter Pence sandwich (turkey, bacon, avocado, cheese, etc.) for $16.50 and a drink for $2.99. Delicious! And it even came with a sucker.

Dinner at Chick-fil-A

Dinner tonight at Chick-fil-A, on the south side of Huntington, just west of the freeway. It has great air-conditioning! Got a spicy Honey Pepper Pimento sandwich with fries and a soda for $14.05. Nice, and did I mention they have air-conditioning? Also, oddly, I noticed the restaurant has bingo every Tuesday night from 5 to 7 p.m. RSVP on Instagram: @cfamonrovia.

Dinner at Cafe Mundial

Dinner at Cafe Mundial, on the east side of Myrtle, just north of Colorado. Got the Bolognese pasta (ground beef, pork, and Pappardelle noodles in a marinara sauce) for $24, and a beer for $7. Very nice.

Dinner at Knight Cap, the Mexican-style restaurant on the east side of Myrtle just south of Lime. Got the Tacos for $13 and a beer for $8. Very tasty.

Dinner at Lin‘s Club

Dinner at the tiny Lin‘s Club, on the east side of the Mon-Arc shopping center at Duarte Road and Sixth. Got the Hot and Spicy Fish Fillet for $15.99, a dish of rice for $1, and a soda for $2. Very generous portion of fish! And when they say spicy, we’re talking eye watering, nose running spicy. I liked it, even if my nose didn’t.

Lunch at Le Roy's

Lunch at Le Roy's, on the north side of Huntington just west of Mayflower. Got the dieter's Cold Plate (I'm trying to lose a pound) for $16.75 and an iced tea for $4.25. The turkey was real sliced turkey, not cold cuts. The ham had a nice smoky flavor. And lots. I couldn't finish it all and had to take some home. Not sure I will lose any weight after all this, but very good!

Dinner at new Mayan Bar and Noodle restaurant

Had dinner at the new Szechuan style Chinese restaurant in the Aztec Hotel on Foothill. Got the spicy beef noodle bowl for $15. It was very good and there was a generous amount of beef in it. There's no sign out front yet, but I was told that the restaurant name will be Mayan Bar and Noodle. The "bar" part of the name has not yet fully kicked in as the restaurant still needs to get city approval.

Dinner at Café Mundial

Dinner at Café Mundial on the east side of Myrtle a half block north of Colorado.. Got the Seared Ahi for $26 and a beer for $7. Very nice!
