Online meeting scheduled for Safe Streets and Road plan, March 25

The City of Monrovia has released the Draft Comprehensive Safety Action Plan and Draft Bicycle Master Plan Update for public review. A Zoom community meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, Mar. 25, at 6 p.m. Register here to participate. Comments or questions can be submitted to ssousa@monroviaca.gov.

  1. Has something changed in the utilization of bike lanes? For all the time I lived in Monrovia the bike lanes were consistently empty except for homeless people moving their belongings and Tour de France poseurs traveling en masse, pretty much only on weekends.

    The hippy dippy idea of riding "my bike" to work or shopping never took, it appears, not just for me but about everyone else in the town.

    So now there is a "Bicycle Master Plan"?? West Hillcrest Drive was a favorite of the latter group and had no "bike lane".

    Will there be mandatory days when the eco-sin of an IC engine is forbidden?
