  1. I have been looking but cannot find out the candidates stances. With the overwhelming disagreement about building more apartment buildings I am wondering about each candidate's position.

    1. How about holding the city manager and police accountable for addressing the crime and homelessness too? It’s gotten worse and they does nothing. Kids wildin at the street fair every Friday too. Also how about less chicken joints? Seems like all we have now.

    2. It's sad to share that I actually made a huge error when voting Spicee for council. Very poor choices have been brought about under his control every year. Obvious Jimenez is his puppet. And Odd Jimenez was elected w less votes....hmm fraud

    3. Not quite, When Becky Shevlin was elected Mayor her City Council seat came vacant and the City Council voted to appoint Sergio Jimenez to fill her seat and unexpired term, The same scenario will play out again if Larry Spicer is elected Mayor.

  2. Vote for Becky. Spicy just does whatever Tom Adams and Rob Hammond want him to. At least she’s independent of the good old boys network that runs the city.

    1. Shevlin has made No Impact in the City of Monrovia. She actually believes there's no racism in the Monrovia Police Dept ??? The MPD is a racist lazy police department that needs to be shut down and replaced by the LA Sheriffs - like Duarte.
LARRY SOICER WILL DO A BETTER JOB AS MAYOR OF MONROVIA.

Shevlin actually believes that Monrovia Police Dept are Not Racist - the MPD are a lazy, Racist police department that needs to be Shut Down and replaced by the LA Sheriffs dept - Duarte contracts with the Sheriff's department with good success . LARRY SPICER WILL DO A BETTER JOB AS MAYOR OF MONROVIA. IT'S TIME FOR A POSITIVE CHANGE.

  6. I heard one of the guys who's running for council, Edward Belden, almost got arrested for interfering during a ride-along with the MPD the other day. Has anyone heard about this? I thought council members can't be anti-police?

    1. Really? That’s wild. I wonder if that is gonna come up on Wednesday 2/7 during their debate or when they do Q & A. Not sure where that will be but I definitely know it’s on Wednesday. If it happened around the cops then I’m sure their body cams caught it.

  7. To think Spicer would do better on racism is to let the fox guard the chicken coop. Spicer was called out several times for his racist terms towards Latinos. He was even confronted during a city council meeting. Yes, he apologized but a leopard can’t change his stripes

  8. Officer Jesus Rojas would be a refreshing change for our City Council. Imagine the value of having a councilmember who is also an experienced police officer. The insight he would provide for the safety and security of our community could in effect be life saving. He has my vote!!

    2. Rojas is employed by El Monte PD and killed a 37 year old schizophrenic man in 2012. We do not want a killer on your city council!!!!!

    3. Note: According to the San Gabriel Valley Tribune, Rojas and one other officer were involved in the death of a schizophrenic man in 2012. Both officers were cleared of any wrongdoing by the District Attorney's Office.
