Monrovia Fire & Rescue is offering free emergency preparedness training for families on Aug. 22 and 29. The program features four-hour sessions in English (8 a.m. to noon) and Spanish (1 to 5 p.m.) covering hazard identification, evacuation planning, fire extinguisher use, disaster kits, and first aid. So the people instructing citizens are donating their time, will not get paid? Maybe so, maybe not.
