  1. This isn't adequate for a commuter shuttle. It seems this is only meant to benefit restaurants serving those coming into Monrovia for a weekend dinner, and hardly for Monrovians who want a convenient way to get to Station Square all day, every day.

  2. I made that suggestion today to Oliver Chi. This is a start, but to really support the rail commuting, the foothill communities could transit people in and out of the stations at key commute times. Having commuters simply "drive to the station" invites limitations. But somebody has to pay for this too. Many times fares are mere tokens of the costs, but leveraging marginal costs of Monrovia transit might allow some experimentation.

  3. Just to underscore the importance of a regular, reliable shuttle service to having the Gold Line making a positive impact on Monrovia, here's a review of the new stations which explicitly notes the lack of a shuttle being a big negative about the Monrovia stop.

I don't agree with everything he says, and am not so worried about the things I do agree with him about. But it's important to note the perception of people that it's difficult to get to Old Town from Station Square, especially weekdays.
