Grand Theft Auto / Possession of a Controlled Substance / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspect Arrested
February 13 at 12:37 p.m., the OnStar Company notified Monrovia dispatch of a stolen vehicle parked in the 900 block of S. Fifth. Officers responded and located the vehicle. A male suspect was seen entering the vehicle. Officers initiated a traffic stop and conducted an investigation. The suspect was found to be in possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. He was arrested and taken into custody.

Residential Burglary
February 13 at 1:40 p.m., a resident in the 300 block of N. Primrose called police to report her home had been burglarized. She had left the home at 10:30 a.m. that day and returned at approximately 1:00 p.m. Officers responded and conducted an investigation. It appears the suspects entered the residence through a dog entrance in the rear door. This investigation is continuing.

Grand Theft
February 13 at 6:38 p.m., a grand theft was reported at a business in the 600 block of W. Huntington. A male suspect entered the store with the hood of his sweatshirt wrapped around his face. The suspect broke a display case and took two cell phones, then ran out of the store. Officers arrived and checked the area, but were unable to locate the suspect. This investigation is continuing.

Grand Theft Auto
February 13 at 9:06 p.m., a vehicle was reported stolen from the 900 block of W. Duarte. Officers arrived and obtained surveillance footage showing the suspect. The victim’s purse had been stolen previously while she was in a local business, and the suspect then used the keys to take the vehicle. This investigation is continuing.

Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
February 14 at 1:12 a.m., a caller reported multiple subjects in the 300 block of Meadow Lane, possibly looking into vehicles. Officers arrived and found the subjects were standing around a damaged vehicle. After investigation, it was determined the driver of the vehicle had driven into the curb. The driver was insistent he did not hit anything, and that the airbags deployed on their own. He was given a field sobriety test and it was determined he was driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol. He was arrested and transported to a hospital, where he provided a blood sample.

Grand Theft
February 14 at 3:43 p.m., a grand theft of a spare tire was reported in the 600 block of W. Huntington. The full-sized spare tire was taken from the back of the victim’s vehicle while parked in a business parking lot. The victim was shopping in a business. This investigation is continuing.

Hit & Run Traffic Collision
February 14 at 5:54 p.m., a female driver parked her vehicle in the 700 block of W. Foothill and was taking her child out of the vehicle. A second vehicle was passing by and hit her open passenger door. The second vehicle did not stop. Officers arrived and searched the area for the suspect vehicle, but were not able to locate it. This investigation is continuing.

Illegal Cultivation of Marijuana
February 14 at 9:13 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 400 block of Genoa regarding a report of possible prowlers in the area. A neighbor had seen two subjects running and jumping over a fence near the wash. During a search of the property for the subjects, an illegal indoor marijuana grow operation was discovered in a vacant house. This investigation is continuing.

Grand Theft Auto
February 15 at 8:49 a.m., a vehicle was reported stolen from an apartment complex in the 600 block of E. Olive. The vehicle had been taken sometime during the night. This investigation is continuing.

Mail Tampering
February 15 at 9:25 a.m., a subject called police to report finding mail on the street from addresses on El Dorado, Diamond, and Encino. Officers responded and collected the mail, which will be returned to the correct addresses. This investigation is continuing.

Injury Traffic Collision
February 15 at 2:33 p.m., two vehicles collided at the intersection of California and Huntington. Officers arrived and conducted an investigation. One of the vehicles was traveling west on Huntington and failed to stop for the red traffic signal. One of the drivers was transported to the hospital for a complaint of pain.

Grand Theft
February 15 at 3:38 p.m., a grand theft incident was reported in the 700 block of Ocean View. The victim reported that he left his drone inside his unlocked vehicle overnight. When he returned to his vehicle, he found the drone had been taken from inside. This investigation is continuing.

Shoplifting/Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspect Arrested
February 15 at 3:49 p.m., a caller from a business in the 900 block of W. Foothill reported a shoplifting incident that had just occurred. Officers arrived and located the suspect, who was also found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. The suspect was arrested and issued a citation to appear in court on the charges.

Warrant / Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
February 15 at 3:53 p.m., an officer on patrol observed a suspicious vehicle traveling through the intersection of Alta Vista and Hillcrest. A computer check revealed there was a no-bail warrant attached to the license plate. A traffic stop was made, and the driver exhibited symptoms of being under the influence. Field sobriety tests were conducted. The driver was arrested for DUI and held for a sobering period.

Attempted Burglary
February 15 at 4:46 p.m., a caller from a business in the 400 block of E. Duarte reported that a bolt had been cut to gain access to the business sometime during the night. Officers arrived and determined the suspects were not successful in gaining entry. This investigation is continuing.

Fatal Traffic Collision
February 16 at 4:42 a.m., officers responded to the 210 Freeway regarding an injury traffic collision involving a wrong-way driver. Officers arrived and found the two vehicles had been involved in a head-on collision. There was smoke coming from the vehicles and one of them was overturned. When officers checked for occupants, they found one of the drivers was deceased. The other driver was trapped inside the overturned vehicle. The officers were able to break a window and extract him. He was conscious and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. California Highway Patrol arrived on scene and assumed control of the investigation.

Vehicle Burglary
February 16 at 1:53 p.m., a member of a church in the 900 block of S. Shamrock walked outside the church and discovered someone had shattered her car window and taken her purse from the front seat while she was inside the service. Officers arrived and collected video surveillance of the suspects. This investigation is continuing.

Grand Theft Auto Recovered / Warrant – Suspect Arrested
February 16 at 8:02 p.m., police received a call reporting a suspicious unoccupied vehicle parked in the 500 block W. Colorado. The vehicle appeared to be an old black and white police car with no lights or license plates. The investigation revealed the vehicle was not a police vehicle, but it had been reported stolen out of Santa Ana. While officers were there, a subject approached and told them it was his car. He claimed he purchased the vehicle from a friend for $1,000, but hadn't finished paying for it. The subject was found to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest. He was arrested for the warrant and the vehicle was recovered.

Shoplifting – Suspect Arrested
February 17 at 1:59 p.m., officers were dispatched to a business in the 1600 block of S. Mountain regarding a shoplifting incident in progress. They arrived as the suspect was fleeing from loss prevention employees. The suspect saw the officers, stopped running, and complied. The property was recovered and the suspect was arrested. He was issued a citation to appear in court on the charges.

Commercial Burglary – Suspects Arrested
February 18 at 12:23 a.m., a caller reported seeing two male suspects breaking into a business located in the 2600 block of S. Myrtle. Officers responded and set up containment of the area with support from neighboring agencies. The two suspects exited the building with stolen items, but then ran back inside the building when they saw police. The two suspects were eventually located hiding within the building, away from one another. Both suspects were arrested. An injured suspect was taken to a nearby hospital, treated, and later released back into the custody of Monrovia Police Department. Both suspects were charged with commercial burglary and are currently being held pending their court appearance.

Theft
February 19 at 11:27 a.m., a theft from an unlocked vehicle was reported at a business parking lot in the 700 block of W. Huntington. The victim walked outside the store he was shopping in and discovered someone had entered his unlocked truck. The suspect took several tools, then fled the area. Officers searched for the suspect, but did not locate anyone. This investigation is continuing.

Vehicle Burglary
February 19 at 4:16 p.m., a vehicle burglary was reported at a business parking lot in the 1600 block of S. Mountain. The victim returned to his vehicle from shopping and discovered someone had forced entry into it. The suspect took tools from inside the vehicle. Officers searched for the suspect, but were unable to locate anyone. This investigation is continuing.

Wrong-Way Driver Causes Major Accident, Death, on 210 in Monrovia

February 6 at 1:44 p.m., a caller reported three vehicles collided into one another at the intersection of Colorado and Ivy. Officers responded and found no one was injured and the vehicles sustained minor damage. All parties chose to exchange information.

Grand Theft Auto
February 6 at 1:48 p.m., officers were dispatched to a residence in the 700 block of W. Foothill regarding a stolen vehicle report. The resident walked outside her home and discovered someone had stolen her 2010 white Mercedes. The resident told officers it was taken sometime in the morning. The vehicle was entered into the DMV stolen vehicle system. This investigation is continuing.

Non-injury Traffic Collisions
February 6 at 6:12 p.m., a caller reported two motorists collided into one another in the intersection of California and Fig. Officers responded and contacted the drivers. Information was exchanged. No injuries were reported

February 6 at 8:12 p.m., a resident in the 100 block of S. Violet called to report a suspicious person in the area. Officers arrived and located a subject matching the description provided. The subject had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. He was taken into custody per the authority of the warrant.

Grand Theft Auto – Suspect Arrested
February 7 at 5:20 a.m., an officer was patrolling the 900 block of S. Myrtle when he was alerted of a stolen vehicle in the area. The officer located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. After an investigation the driver was arrested and taken into custody.

Warrant Arrest – Suspect Arrested
February 7 at 9:24 p.m., a caller reported a suspicious person in the 400 block of W. Foothill. Officers responded and located a subject matching the description provided to Monrovia Dispatch. The subject had several outstanding warrants for his arrest. The subject was arrested per the authority of the warrant and taken to the Monrovia Police Department Jail for booking.

Warrant Arrest – Suspect Arrested
February 8 at 2:05 a.m., an officer was patrolling the 700 block of S. Myrtle when he saw a bicyclist make a traffic violation. He stopped the bicyclist and discovered he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The subject was arrested and taken into custody.

Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol – Suspect Arrested
February 8 at 2:35 a.m., a caller reported a traffic collision in the 900 block of S. Shamrock. Officers responded and discovered a vehicle had crashed into a fence off of an alley. The driver was contacted and he displayed symptoms of being under the influence of alcohol. An investigation was conducted and it was determined the driver was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. The driver was arrested and taken into custody.

Grand Theft
February 8 at 9:25 a.m., officers were dispatched to a residence in the 600 block of Ranchito regarding a vehicle theft. The resident called to report that items were taken from his unlocked vehicle. His vehicle was parked in front of his residence and sometime during the night someone entered the vehicle and took several valuable items. This investigation is continuing.

Residential Burglary
February 8 at 7:30 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 500 block of E. Walnut regarding a residential burglary. The resident reported that someone had burglarized his home while he was gone. Officers arrived and checked the interior of the house. It was discovered that the suspect(s) gained entry by forcing the back door open. A couple of rooms were ransacked but it was unknown exactly what was taken at the time. One of the residents reported her car was missing. This investigation is continuing.

Shoplifting – Suspect Arrested
February 9 at 6:33 p.m., an employee from the 300 block of W. Huntington called to report that a security guard was detaining a male subject to the front of the business for shoplifting. The store employee told the officers the subject entered the store, concealed items, and left without paying for them. An employee attempted to stop the subject but the subject pulled away. The two struggled over the backpack until a security guard assisted in detaining the subject until the police arrived. The subject was arrested and taken into custody.

Public Intoxication – Suspect Arrested
February 9 at 6:49 p.m., an employee from a business in the 400 block of W. Huntington called to report that a male subject was drinking a bottle of Smirnoff Vodka inside the establishment. Officers contacted the subject and determined he was too intoxicated to care for his own safety. He was arrested taken into custody.

Petty Theft
February 10 at 12:27 p.m., an employee at a business in the 600 block of W. Huntington called to report a theft. The employee was doing construction work at the location and sometime during the day his tools were stolen. This investigation is continuing.

Vandalism
February 10 at 8:22 p.m., officers responded to a report of a vandalism in the intersection of Magnolia and Duarte. A driver reported that while she was stopped at a red light at the intersection, a male adult suddenly appeared from the sidewalk and punched the side of her vehicle causing a minor dent. The subject yelled profanities at her and then got onto a public bus. The victim does not know the subject or why he punched her vehicle. This investigation is continuing.

Non-injury Traffic Collision
February 11 at 9:56 a.m., a caller reported two vehicles collided into one another at the intersection of Foothill and Encinitas. Officers responded to the location, there was minor damage to the vehicles and no one was injured. All parties chose to exchange information only.

Non-injury Hit & Run Traffic Collision
February 11 at 2:58 p.m., a business in the 500 block of W. Huntington called to report a Hit & Run incident. One of their customers collided into another customer’s vehicle in their parking lot and left without stopping to exchange information. Officers responded and found no one was injured. This investigation is continuing.

Weapons Offense – Suspect Arrested
February 11 at 11:54 p.m., several residents in the 500 block of Royal Oaks called to report a man in the street waving a handgun. Officers arrived and located a subject matching the description provided. The subject was detained and a loaded handgun was found on his person. It was determined no shots had been fired and the handgun was unregistered. The subject was arrested and taken into custody for the possession of a loaded unregistered handgun.

Probation Violation
February 12 at 8:05 a.m., an officer was patrolling the 300 block of S. Primrose when she saw a female subject at Library Park whom she knew was ordered by a judge to stay out of the park per her conditions of probation. The officer contacted the subject and told her that probation would be notified of the violation and had her leave the park.

Grand Theft
February 12 at 8:07 a.m., a caller reported a theft in the 900 block of W. Huntington. The owner of a vehicle parked in a hotel's private parking lot and when he walked outside his hotel room, he discovered someone had taken his vehicle's catalytic converter sometime during the night. This investigation is continuing.

Petty Theft
February 12 at 12:36 p.m., a resident in the 700 block of Bonita called to report a theft. The resident walked outside her home and discovered someone had entered her unlocked vehicle and took miscellaneous documents. This investigation is continuing.

Grand Theft
February 12 at 4:24 p.m., an employee of a business in the 600 block of W. Huntington called to report a theft. A crew of two males and a female entered the store and took several curling irons then ran out of the store without paying. The subjects got into a getaway vehicle then fled the scene. Officers responded and searched for the suspects but did not locate them. This investigation is continuing.

Public Intoxication – Suspect Arrested
January 30 at 1:39 a.m., a resident in the 100 block of W. Olive called police to report someone was attempting to open her front door. Officers arrived and found an extremely intoxicated male standing near the front door. It was learned that the male subject used to live at the location and was only rattling the door knob. Monrovia Fire responded to the scene, but the subject refused to go to the hospital. The subject was too intoxicated to care for himself and was arrested for public intoxication. He was held for a sobering period.

Burglary
January 30 at 8:38 a.m., a burglary was reported at an apartment complex in the 1000 block of E. Royal Oaks. The suspect cut a hole in the window screen and entered an unlocked window. The suspect drilled the locks on the washing machines and took a small dollar amount of quarters from the machines. Investigation continuing.

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspect Arrested
January 30 at 8:39 p.m., a male subject called police to report that another male subject threw a stick at his vehicle while he was at a business in the 200 block of E. Huntington. Officers arrived and located a subject who matched the description provided. A consent search of the subject revealed he had a glass pipe in his possession which is used to smoke methamphetamine. There was no damage to the reporting person’s vehicle. The male subject was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and issued a citation to appear in court on the charges.

Warrants – Suspect Arrested
January 31 at 9:20 a.m., a resident in the 500 block of N. Alta Vista called police to report a suspicious vehicle in the area, possibly casing homes in the neighborhood. Officers arrived and located the vehicle. A computer check revealed one of the occupants had outstanding warrants for his arrest. He was arrested and taken into custody.

Attempt Grand Theft
January 31 at 10:14 a.m., an employee from a business in the 1600 block of S. Magnolia called police to report someone had attempted to remove two catalytic converters sometime during the night from vehicles parked in their lot. They did not get the catalytic converters off, but the vehicles sustained a significant amount of damage. The investigation is continuing.

Grand Theft
January 31 at 1:56 p.m., a grand theft incident was reported in the 500 block of W. Huntington. While the victim was eating at a restaurant, someone stole the full-sized tire that was attached to the rear of her vehicle, along with the tire cover. Investigation continuing.

Injury Traffic Collision
January 31 at 4:31 p.m., a motorist was traveling east on Foothill, waiting to make a left turn onto Canyon. Once traffic was clear, the motorist proceeded to make a left turn, but did not see a pedestrian who was crossing in the crosswalk. The pedestrian was struck by the vehicle at approximately 5 miles per hour. The pedestrian complained of pain and had minor visible injuries.

Residential Burglary
January 31 at 6:49 p.m., a residential burglary was reported in the 1600 block of Venice. The resident left the house at around 2:15 p.m. When she returned home at approximately 6:45 p.m., she discovered the rear door to her home had been forced open. Officers arrived and searched inside the home. While searching the residence, officers could see the residence had been ransacked. Investigation continuing.

Grand Theft
January 31 at 10:27 p.m., a caller reported a grand theft that occurred in the 100 block of W. Foothill. The victim was sitting at a table outside a business, when three suspects ran up and took his Louis Vuitton handbag and wallet, and then fled the area. He provided the officer with a description. An area check was conducted, but no suspects were located. Investigation continuing.

Vehicle Burglary
February 1 at 12:31 a.m., an officer responded to the report of a vehicle burglary in the 700 block of W. Duarte. The victim parked his vehicle on the street at 7:45 p.m. When he returned to his vehicle at 12:30 a.m., he noticed the rear passenger window was completely smashed. The suspect took two tool bags containing miscellaneous tools and one duffle bag containing clothes. The investigation is continuing.

Warrant – Suspect Arrested
February 1 at 7:40 p.m., an officer was patrolling the area of Myrtle and Foothill when he saw a motorist commit a traffic violation. A traffic stop was conducted by the officer and the driver was contacted. A computer check revealed the driver had two outstanding warrants for his arrest. He was arrested for the warrants and taken into custody.

Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
February 2 at 1:58 a.m., an officer was patrolling the 2000 block of S. Myrtle when he saw a motorist commit a traffic violation. A traffic stop was made and the driver was contacted. The driver displayed symptoms of being under the influence of alcohol. A DUI investigation was conducted and it was determined that the driver was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested and held for a sobering period.

Grand Theft Auto
February 2 at 6:51 a.m., a vehicle was reported stolen from the 900 block of S. Fifth Avenue. The victim reported he was staying at a hotel and sometime during the night his vehicle was taken without his permission. The vehicle was entered into the stolen vehicle system. Investigation continuing.

Shoplifting – Suspect Cited
February 2 at 8:21 a.m., an employee from a business in the 1600 block of S. Mountain called police to report a male subject entered the business and concealed merchandise on his person. He then exited the store without paying for the items. He was detained by lost prevention employees. An officer arrived and conducted an investigation. The stolen items were recovered and returned to the store. The subject was arrested and issued a citation to appear in court on the charge.

Grand Theft Auto – Suspects Arrested
February 2 at 5:57 p.m., an officer was on patrol in the area of Myrtle and Chestnut when he received notification of a stolen vehicle in the area. The officer located the vehicle and attempted a high risk traffic stop. The driver stopped and a female passenger ran from the vehicle. The driver then drove away in an attempt to evade officers and crashed into a building in the 200 block of W. Foothill. The driver fled on foot, but the Foothill Air Support Team helicopter was able to locate him and he was taken into custody. The female passenger was also located and taken into custody a short time later. The female was found to be wanted for another grand theft auto incident out of Covina. Both suspects were arrested.

Commercial Burglary
February 3 at 8:12 a.m., the owner of a business in the 200 block of W. Maple arrived to work and discovered the building had been burglarized sometime over the weekend. Officers responded to investigate and found the suspects had broken a window to gain entry. They took merchandise from the business and fled the building. The same type of burglary occurred at this business previously on December 21. This investigation is continuing.

Attempt Grand Theft
February 3 at 2:03 p.m., the manager of a truck dealership in the 1600 block of S. Magnolia reported that someone had attempted to take the catalytic converter off one of the trucks. The suspect cut half way through the converter, but wasn't successful in removing it. The attempt theft was discovered when the manager started the truck.

Annoying and Threatening Telephone Call
February 3 at 5:36 p.m., a female subject at a retirement home in the 300 block of Norumbega called police to report a threatening phone call. A male subject called the home and threatened to kill her. The victim did not recognize the voice and does not know who the caller is. The victim said the home has never received a call like this before, and it is possible it was a wrong number. This investigation is continuing.

Grand Theft
February 4 at 8:11 a.m., a resident in the 100 block of W. Central walked outside his home and discovered someone had stolen the catalytic converter off his truck sometime during the night. He called police to report the incident. This investigation is continuing.

Violation of Parole / Parole Hold – Suspect Arrested
February 4 at 11:20 a.m., while officers were handling a family argument in the 800 block of W. Walnut, a parole officer arrived to check on a parolee. She found the parolee to be in violation of parole and a parole hold was issued. Monrovia officers arrested the subject for the violation.

Residential Burglary – Suspect Arrested
February 5 at 8:31 a.m., a resident in the 1800 block of S. Peck called police to report she had just arrived home and heard noises in her backyard. She said it sounded like someone was breaking into her storage shed. Officers arrived and saw the suspect jump the backyard fence and run onto another property. He opened the front door to a neighbor's house and was confronted by the homeowner inside the house. He ran and was eventually apprehended by police. He was found to be in possession of items stolen from the shed. He had concealed other items near the shed so he could return and collect them later, including a rifle. He was arrested and the stolen property was returned to the owner.

Grand Theft
February 5 at 2:01 p.m., the owner of a business in the 100 block of E. Chestnut called police to report a grand theft. The catalytic converter was stolen off of his company’s truck a week prior. Initially, he did not report it until he discovered the cost. This investigation is continuing.

Grand Theft From an Unlocked Vehicle
January 23 at 10:07 a.m., a resident in the 700 block of W. Lemon called police to report a theft from her vehicle. Sometime between 2:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., someone entered her unlocked vehicle and took her wallet, which contained U.S. currency and two cashier's checks. Investigation continuing.

Battery
January 23 at 10:58 a.m., a resident in the 300 block of W. Colorado called police to report a battery incident. She said was involved in a physical altercation with another female adult. The reporting party suffered minor injuries, but declined to be treated by Monrovia paramedics. The other female fled the scene prior to officers arriving. Investigation continuing.

Stolen Vehicle Recovered
January 23 at 11:54 a.m., an employee from a business in the 3000 block of S. Peck called police to report the business had purchased a vehicle they now believed to be stolen. An officer responded and confirmed the vehicle was, in fact, reported stolen. The business had already sold various parts off the vehicle before discovering it was stolen. The vehicle was recovered and the investigation is continuing.

Vandalism
January 24 at 7:15 a.m., a vandalism incident was reported in the 300 block of Jasmine. A resident called to report that sometime between January 22 and January 24, the driver-side front window of his vehicle was shattered. Nothing was taken from the vehicle. Investigation continuing.

Warrant / Drug Paraphernalia – Suspect Arrested
January 24 at 12:24 p.m., an officer was patrolling the 500 block of W. Huntington when he saw a subject he knew had outstanding warrants for his arrest. The officer detained the subject and confirmed the warrants. The subject was arrested for the warrants, and a search incident to arrest revealed the subject was also in possession of drug paraphernalia.

Battery – Suspect Arrested
January 24 at 12:40 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the 200 block of Melrose regarding a battery incident. A male subject called police and reported he had been punched in the face. The victim is a gardener for a resident in the area. The resident accused him of stealing her avocados. The victim said he threw the avocados away because a rodent had eaten a portion of them. A friend of the resident overheard the conversation, approached the victim and punched him in the face. The victim desired a citizen's arrest and the suspect was arrested.

Injury Traffic Collision
January 24 at 1:09 p.m., a traffic collision was reported at the intersection of Primrose and Huntington. A motorist was traveling south on Primrose and entered the intersection without yielding to oncoming traffic, colliding into a motorist traveling east on Huntington. One of the drivers complained of pain to her neck and was treated at the scene by Monrovia Paramedics. The party at fault was issued a citation.

Residential Burglary
January 24 at 9:28 p.m., police dispatch received a call from and alarm company reporting an alarm activation at a residence in the 700 block of Valley View. Officers responded and discovered the rear, sliding glass door had been shattered and the front door was open. Additional officers arrived, and the Foothill Air Support Team helicopter responded to the area to assist. A check of the interior revealed the suspects had gone through some drawers in the upstairs master bedroom, but no suspects were located. The victim was notified and the investigation is continuing.

Warrant / Possession of a Controlled Substance – Suspect Arrested
January 25 at 3:54 a.m., a resident in the 100 block of W. Colorado called police to report he could smell marijuana, but he was not sure where it was coming from. He thought possibly the top of a parking structure. Officers responded and located a male subject inside a vehicle at the top of the parking structure. A computer check revealed the subject had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The subject was arrested for the warrant, and a search incident to arrest revealed methamphetamine inside the vehicle.

Vandalism
January 25 at 9:27 a.m., a vandalism incident was reported in the 200 block of W. Palm. The victim reported that sometime during the night or early morning hours, someone threw a rock through his front bedroom window. Investigation continuing.

Warrant / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspect Arrested
January 25 at 9:31 a.m., a resident in the 500 block of Norumbega called police to report a suspicious subject in the area. The resident said he appeared to be casing the neighborhood. Officers arrived and located the subject, and a computer check revealed he had multiple warrants for his arrest. He was arrested for the warrants, and a search incident to arrest revealed the subject was in possession of a pipe used to smoke methamphetamine.

Grand Theft
January 25 at 12:40 p.m., an employee from a business in the 700 block of E. Huntington called police to report a large amount of high-end perfumes had been stolen from the store the previous day. An officer was dispatched to take a report and the investigation is continuing.

Grand Theft From Unlocked Vehicle
January 26 at 8:52 a.m., a resident walked outside his home in the 100 block of N. Ivy and found his unlocked vehicle had been ransacked and items were stolen. This investigation is continuing.

Suspicious Person / Warrant – Suspect Arrested
January 26 at 10:29 a.m., a caller reported a suspicious female subject banging on the glass window to the historical train station in the 1600 block of S. Primrose. Officers responded and found she had not caused any damage. A computer check revealed she had four warrants for her arrest. She was arrested and taken into custody.

Hit & Run Traffic Collision
January 26 at 5:01 p.m., a resident in the 100 block of N. Alta Vista found minor damage to their vehicle that was parked on the street. Officers responded and determined the parked vehicle had been hit by another vehicle, which failed to stop. This investigation is continuing.

Domestic Battery / Violation of Restraining Order – Suspect Arrested
January 27 at 9:30 a.m., a resident in the 800 block of Encino called police to report her ex-boyfriend was at her home in violation of a restraining order. He had initiated an argument with her and then battered her. Officers arrived and, after investigation, arrested the suspect for violating the restraining order and domestic battery.

Injury Hit & Run Traffic Collision
January 27 at 1:55 p.m., an officer was on patrol in the 100 block of N. Mayflower when she saw a skateboarder limping along the sidewalk. The officer stopped to see if he needed assistance. The subject said he was skateboarding and a car hit him, causing him to fall. He said the car then fled the area. Paramedics transported him to a nearby hospital for minor injuries. This investigation is continuing.

Injury Traffic Collision
January 28 at 8:25 a.m., a traffic collision was reported in the 100 block of W. Colorado. A caller reported a motorist had just collided with a pedestrian. Officers responded and took a report. The involved pedestrian was not seriously injured.

Assault
January 29 at 2:32 p.m., a resident in the 300 block of S. California called police to report an assault incident. She said a family member was visiting her home when he became angry. He began to strangle her and then pushed her into a metal railing, causing visible injuries. A couple neighbors saw what was happening and came to the victim’s rescue. The suspect fled the area. Officers searched the area, but were not able to locate him. This investigation is continuing.

Missing Person Located
January 29 at 4:02 p.m., an elderly man was reported missing in the 200 block of S. Myrtle. He was in the car with his wife, when she went into a bank for about 15 minutes, leaving him in the car. When she returned, he was gone. She worried he was lost because he suffers from memory loss, so she called police. Officers immediately searched the area and located missing subject nearby. He was returned to his wife.

Vehicle Burglary
January 16 at 11:58 a.m., a vehicle burglary was reported in the 800 block of W. Foothill. There was video surveillance that showed a white Cadillac Escalade pulled up next to the victim’s parked vehicle and a passenger exited and smashed two of the vehicle windows. Two iPads were stolen from inside the vehicle. Investigation continuing.

Warrant / Violation of Restraining Order – Suspect Arrested
January 17 at 12:21 a.m., an officer was patrolling the area of Mayflower and Fano when he saw two subjects he recognized from prior contacts. A computer check revealed one of the subjects had two outstanding warrants. There was also a restraining order protecting the other subject from the subject with the warrants. The subject was arrested and taken into custody for the warrants and violating the restraining order.

Injury Traffic Collision
January 17 at 7:08 a.m., a caller reported an injury traffic collision near the intersection of Duarte and Myrtle. A motorist was stopped at the railroad tracks, facing south, and another motorist rear-ended the stopped vehicle. One of the drivers complained of pain and was treated at the scene by Monrovia Paramedics.

Grand Theft Auto / Pursuit – Suspect Arrested
January 17 at 8:44 a.m., an officer was patrolling the 1800 block of S. Myrtle, when he was notified of a stolen vehicle in the area. The officer located the vehicle traveling north on Myrtle and attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver did not yield. A pursuit ensued until the vehicle went down a dead-end driveway and had to stop. A high-risk felony stop was conducted, and the solo occupant was arrested for grand theft auto and taken into custody.

Shoplifting – Suspect Arrested
January 18 at 2:52 p.m., an employee from a business in the 500 block of W. Huntington called to report a female subject had concealed merchandise in her purse and exited the store without purchasing the items. She was detained by loss prevention and the property was recovered. Officers arrived, conducted an investigation and the female was arrested for shoplifting.

Injury Traffic Collision
January 18 at 4:09 p.m., a motorist was traveling north on Peck, approaching Longden, and another vehicle was traveling west on Longden, approaching Peck. The motorist traveling north failed to stop at the stop sign and collided into the other motorist. One of the drivers complained of pain to his leg and was transported to a local hospital. The driver at fault was issued a citation for the traffic violation.

Drug Activity / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspect Cited
January 18 at 7:34 p.m., a resident in the 2600 block of California called to report a male and female subject that were possibly selling drugs from a parked vehicle. They reported people were approaching the vehicle and it appeared drug transactions were being made. Officers arrived and located the male and female. The female had syringes on her person and in her belongings. She also had other drug paraphernalia in her possession. The male didn't have any contraband. The female was issued a citation to appear in court on the charges.

Public Intoxication – Suspect Arrested
January 19 at 12:51 a.m., an officer was patrolling the area of Lime and Myrtle when he saw a male subject lying on the sidewalk. The officers checked the subject’s well-being and discovered he was too intoxicated to care for his own safety. He was arrested for public intoxication and held for a sobering period.

Providing False Information to a Police Officer / Warrants – Suspect Arrested
January 20 at 7:56 a.m., an officer was patrolling the area of Mountain and Lime when she saw a motorist commit a traffic violation. The officer stopped the motorist for the traffic violation. The driver did not have any form of identification and there was no DMV record of him having a driver’s license. He was arrested and taken into custody in order to obtain his identify. He was eventually identified by his fingerprints. It was then discovered he had provided false information to the officer and had four outstanding warrants for his arrest.

Commercial Burglary
January 21 at 1:58 a.m., officers responded to a business in the 500 block of S. Myrtle on an alarm activation and found the front window to the business was shattered. An interior check was conducted, but no one was found inside. A review of the video surveillance showed two suspects wearing dark clothing and hoodies shattered the front window to gain entry. One suspect entered the store, while the second suspect waited outside as a lookout. The suspect took gold jewelry and diamond rings from the display cases. The suspects were inside the store for 60 seconds. Investigation continuing.

Grand Theft Auto
January 22 at 6:51 a.m., a vehicle was reported stolen from the 900 block of S. Fifth. The victim reported his vehicle was parked in a hotel parking lot and sometime during the night, his vehicle was taken. The vehicle was entered into the computer system as stolen and the investigation is continuing.

Shoplifting – Suspect Arrested
January 22 at 8:21 a.m., an employee from a business in the 1600 block of S. Mountain called to report a male subject entered the business, concealed items on his person and exited the store without paying for the items. He was detained by employees and was cooperative. An officer arrived and conducted an investigation. The suspect was issued a citation to appear in court on the charges. The items were recovered and returned to the store.

Grand Theft Auto – Suspects Arrested
January 22 at 5:57 p.m., an officer was patrolling the 1800 block of S. Myrtle when he received a stolen vehicle alert from his vehicle’s monitoring device. The officer stopped the vehicle and performed a felony high-risk stop. A female passenger exited the vehicle and ran. The vehicle then sped off, attempting to evade officers and crashed into a building in the 200 block of W. Foothill. At that time, the male driver exited the vehicle and fled on foot. The Foothill Air Support Team helicopter assisted and was able to locate the suspect. Officers set up a perimeter, and both the driver and passenger were located and taken into custody. The suspects were arrested for grand theft auto, felony evading, and felony hit and run.

Police Trying to Find Arcadia Resident

The Arcadia Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in locating Charles Henry Washington, a 70-year-old Arcadia resident.

On Sunday Jan. 19, at approximately 8 a.m., Washington checked out of a local hospital against medical advice. Washington returned to his home, in the 800 block of West Duarte Road. At approximately 6:30 p.m., Washington was last seen walking eastbound in the 800 block of West Duarte Road. Washington requires daily medication. Neighboring law enforcement agencies and hospitals were contacted; however, Washington has not yet been located.

Washington is described as a male, Black, 6'01" tall, 250 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Washington was last seen wearing a blue and green colored button-down shirt, blue jeans, and white shoes.

The male subject was arrested for domestic violence and taken into custody.

Wanted Person / Resisting Arrest – Suspect Arrested
January 9 at 1:54 p.m., a resident in the 500 block of W. Colorado called police to report seeing possible drug activity. When the officer arrived, he saw a vehicle matching the description provided by the caller. A traffic stop was conducted, and the investigation revealed one of the occupants in the vehicle was a wanted person. The subject initially resisted arrest, but was eventually arrested and taken into custody.

January 10 at 12:14 p.m., a resident in the 500 block of Court called police to report that items were taken from his unlocked vehicle. One of the items taken was a credit card, and it had already been used at a Home Depot and Walmart that same day. Investigation continuing.

January 10 at 3:12 p.m., an employee from a business in the 3000 block of S. Peck called police to report the theft of a trailer. A male suspect in an older-model, Ford truck drove into the business parking lot at approximately 12:45 p.m. He attached a trailer that did not belong to him to his truck and left the property. Investigation continuing.

Critical Missing Person – Located
January 11 at 1:12 p.m., a resident in the 700 block of W. Foothill called to report that his elderly relative, who has medical issues, was missing for approximately two hours. Officers arrived and set up a search team. The elderly individual was located a short time later and was returned home safely.

Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
January 12 at 1:36 a.m., an officer was on patrol in the 100 block of W. Central, when he saw a vehicle commit several traffic violations. A traffic stop was conducted and the officer spoke with the driver. After field sobriety tests were conducted, the driver was arrested for DUI. He was taken into custody and held for a sobering period.

Weapon Offense
January 12 at 11:44 a.m., a female subject came into the police department lobby to report a suspect that brandished a weapon in the 1400 block of S. Magnolia. The victim reported that when she was getting into her vehicle to go to work at 4:30 a.m., a female Hispanic subject approached her from the residence across the street and said, "right here, right now." The victim does not know the woman. The woman then brandished an object that appeared to be a handgun. The victim immediately started her vehicle and drove to work. She said she did not report the incident immediately because she needed to get to work. Investigation continuing.

Weapon Offense / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspect Arrested
January 12 at 2:45 p.m., a family disturbance was reported at a residence in the 300 block of E. Olive. Officers arrived and contacted two adult brothers, who were involved a verbal argument. One of the brothers alleged that during the argument, his brother brandished a pocket knife. The brother who brandished the knife was also found to be in possession of a pipe used for smoking narcotics. He was arrested and taken into custody.

Driving Under the Influence / Non-Injury Traffic Collision – Suspect Arrested
January 13 at 4:46 p.m., a caller reported a non-injury traffic collision in the 100 block of Fig. A vehicle had backed into another vehicle, and one of the drivers had to be restrained to prevent her from leaving. Officers arrived and determined the driver being restrained was too intoxicated to operate a vehicle safely. She was arrested for DUI and held for a sobering period.

Vandalism
January 14 at 11:48 p.m., an officer was patrolling the area of Mountain and Evergreen, when he was flagged down by a female subject. The woman stated her vehicle had been broken into while parked in front of a business in the 1600 block of S. Mountain. The suspect gained entry by breaking a window, but no items were taken. Investigation continuing.

Shoplifting – Suspect Arrested
January 15 at 12:29 p.m., an employee from a business in the 1600 block of S. Mountain called police to report a male suspect just left the location without paying for items he had taken. Officers arrived, located the subject and detained him. The stolen items were recovered and the subject was arrested for shoplifting.

Trespassing / Open Container of Alcohol – Suspect Arrested
January 15 at 2:49 p.m., a subject was inside a business in the 400 block of W. Huntington causing a disturbance. He was asked to leave by an employee, but he refused. The employee called police and reported the situation. Officers arrived and spoke with the subject. The subject still refused to leave and he was in possession of an open container of alcohol. He was arrested for trespassing and being in possession of an open container of alcohol in public.

Warrant – Suspect Arrested
January 15 at 8:02 p.m., an officer was patrolling the area of Mountain and Oceanview, when he saw a driver commit a traffic violation. He conducted a traffic stop and spoke with the driver. A computer check revealed the driver had several outstanding warrants for his arrest. He was arrested and taken into custody.

January 2 at 10:01 p.m., an officer was patrolling the area of Duarte and Myrtle when he saw a bicyclist commit a traffic violation. He stopped the bicyclist and spoke with him. A consent to search was given and the officer located a small amount of illegal drugs and some drug paraphernalia on the subject’s person. He was arrested and taken into custody.

January 3 at 2:19 p.m., an employee from a business in the 500 block of W. Huntington called to report a male subject that selected a pair of shoes and exited the store without paying for them. He fled the area prior to the police being called. Video footage was obtained. Investigation continuing.

January 6 at 8:18 a.m., a resident in the 200 block of Madeline reported someone had opened bank accounts using his name without his permission. He received notices from these banks, but did not know who opened them. This investigation is continuing.

January 6 at 3:03 p.m., a resident in the 100 block of E. Hillcrest arrived home and found her house had been burglarized. One of the back windows was shattered and several items were taken. She had only been gone for a couple hours. This investigation is continuing.

January 6 at 4:36 p.m., security for a clothing store in the 500 block of W. Huntington reported a female subject left the store with merchandise without paying. She was stopped outside the store and found to be in possession of a pipe that had been used for smoking methamphetamine. She was found to be on probation for shoplifting and had a warrant for her arrest. She was arrested and taken into custody.

January 7 at 7:19 a.m., an officer was patrolling the 200 block of Montana when he saw a vehicle belonging to a subject he knew was on parole and was wanted for domestic violence. The vehicle was parked in the garage of a home. He obtained consent to search the home and located the suspect hiding in the home. The suspect was in possession of heroin and a used syringe. He was arrested and taken into custody.

January 7 at 4:19 p.m., a caller reported two motorists collided into one another in the 2000 block of S. Myrtle. As officers were responding, one of the drivers fled the area and could not be located. No one was injured. This investigation is continuing.

January 7 at 5:30 p.m., a caller reported someone had entered his vehicle and stole property from inside. The vehicle was parked in the 1600 block of S. Mountain. The owner was adamant he locked his vehicle, but there were no signs of forced entry. A small amount of change and a pair of sunglasses were taken. Investigation continuing.

Possession of a Controlled Substance / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspects Arrested
January 7 at 11:55 p.m., an officer was on patrol in the area of Myrtle and Cherry when he observed two subjects riding bicycles without proper lighting requirements. The subjects were stopped for the equipment violations and it was discovered both are on probation. The subjects were found to be in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Both subjects were arrested, issued a citation to appear in court on the charges.

Theft From a Vehicle
January 8 at 11:52 a.m., a resident walked outside his home in the 400 block of N. Ivy and discovered his pickup truck had been ransacked and several items were taken. The resident had a Ring device at his home which captured the theft occurring. This investigation is continuing.

Graffiti Vandalism
January 8 at 1:30 p.m., a caller reported fresh graffiti written with green paint in the bathroom at Station Square Park in the 1600 of S. Myrtle. Officers responded but could not identify what the graffiti said. Graffiti removal was called and extra patrol requested.

Trespassing – Suspect Arrested
January 8 at 2:22 p.m., employees of a restaurant in the 100 block of W. Foothill reported a female subject inside the restaurant who was yelling and refusing to leave. Employees of the restaurant had previously told her not to return and had a no trespass authorization signed. Officers arrived and the subject still refused to leave. She was arrested and taken into custody for trespassing.

Domestic Violence – Suspect Arrested
January 8 at 10:27 p.m., police dispatch received a call from a male subject who stated he had been hit over the head with a large ceramic plate by his girlfriend, causing injury. Officers arrived at the residence in the 400 block of W. Lime and found the male victim in his front yard bleeding from his head. The female was detained and Monrovia Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene. The investigation revealed the couple lives together and was involved in an argument over their relationship. The male subject began yelling at the female and, during the argument, the female struck him over the head with a large ceramic dinner plate, causing a laceration to his head. The male subject was taken to a local hospital for medical treatment and the female was arrested for domestic violence.

December 26, at 2:21 p.m., an officer was patrolling the 800 block of W. Chestnut when he saw two subjects he recognized from past encounters walking in the area. An investigation revealed both subjects had warrants for their arrest and one suspect has an active restraining order against the other. Both subjects were contacted and arrested per the authority of the warrants. They were taken to the Monrovia Police Department for booking.

Residential Burglary
December 26, at 1:06 p.m., officers responded to a report of a residential burglary in the 400 block of Highland. An investigation revealed the residents went out of town in September and did not return until several days ago. This investigation is continuing.

December 26, at 3:18 p.m., an officer was patrolling the 200 block of W. Foothill when he noticed a subject carrying an open container of alcohol. The subject was contacted and an investigation revealed he had multiple outstanding warrants for his arrest. The subject was arrested and taken into custody.

December 26, at 4:35 p.m., a business owner in the 100 block of E. Lemon reported there was a male subject refusing to leave the restroom. Officers arrived and contacted the subject. An investigation revealed he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. He was arrested per the authority of the warrant and transported to the Monrovia Police Department for booking.

Weapon Offense – Suspect Arrested
December 26, at 8:16 p.m., a caller reported seeing two subjects inside the fenced area of his business located in the 1300 block of S. Myrtle. Officers arrived and found two subjects matching the given description. An investigation revealed one of the subjects was in possession of a weapon.

Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol – Suspect Arrested
December 26, at 9:06 p.m., an officer stopped a vehicle for a vehicle code violation near the intersection of Ivy and Huntington. The driver had a difficult time putting the vehicle in park and was exhibiting signs of being under the influence of alcohol. An investigation was conducted and the driver was subsequently arrested and taken into custody for Driving Under the Influence.

December 26, at 11:40 p.m., an officer was patrolling the intersection of Genoa and Magnolia when he saw a subject he recognized from previous encounters. December 27, at 12:36 a.m., an officer was patrolling the intersection of Kruse and Myrtle when he noticed a parked vehicle occupied by one subject. The subject consented to a search of his vehicle and the officer located a weapon. The subject was arrested.

Hit & Run Traffic Collision
December 27, at 3:25 a.m., a caller reported seeing a vehicle on the curb near the intersection of Mayflower and Huntington. Officers arrived and spoke with the male subject near the vehicle. He said there was a female driver who had crashed the vehicle before running away on foot. This investigation is continuing.

December 27, at 8:17 p.m., an officer patrolling the intersection of Myrtle and Brisbane saw a subject walking in the area. The officer made contact with the subject and an investigation revealed the subject had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. He was arrested per the authority of the warrant and transported to the Monrovia Police Department for booking.

December 27, at 9:07 p.m., an officer was patrolling the 200 block of W. Huntington when he saw a subject loitering outside a closed business. December 28, at 12:30 a.m., an officer stopped a vehicle for a vehicle code violation near the intersection of Primrose and Brisbane. The driver displayed symptoms of being under the influence of alcohol. An investigation revealed the driver had been driving while under the influence. He was arrested and taken into custody.

December 29, at 3:22 a.m., an officer patrolling the intersection of Violet and Lime contacted two subjects in a parked vehicle. An investigation revealed one of the subjects was on probation and had an outstanding warrant for her arrest. The subject was found to be in possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. She was arrested and taken to the Monrovia Police Department for booking.

Vehicle Burglary
December 29, at 7:39 a.m., a caller reported seeing a van parked in the 1300 block of S. Myrtle with its windows shattered and glass on the street. Officers responded and did not locate anyone in or around the vehicle. The registered owner was contacted and it was confirmed the van had been burglarized sometime during the night. This investigation is continuing.

Theft
December 29, at 8:43 a.m., a resident in the 400 block of Holly walked outside her home and discovered someone had ransacked the inside of her vehicle sometime during the night. Officers responded and discovered the owner of the vehicle had left her car doors unlocked. The officer found two other vehicles parked next to the first one had also been ransacked and the doors left unlocked. Miscellaneous items were stolen from inside the cars. This investigation is continuing.

Drunk in Public
December 30, at 12:26 a.m., an officer responded to a report of a suspicious person in the 1600 block of Venice. A female subject was contacted and an investigation revealed she was intoxicated and unable to care for herself. She was arrested and taken to the Monrovia Police Department Jail for a sobering period.

Theft
December 30, at 8:19 a.m., a caller reported his wallet was stolen from his unlocked vehicle in the 500 block of Hacienda. Officers responded and an investigation revealed the victim’s credit card was used at a local gas station. This investigation is continuing.

Fraud
December 30, at 10:10 a.m., officers responded to a residence in the 400 block of Parkrose regarding a fraud. The resident reported that a utility account had been opened out of state using his information. This investigation is continuing.

Injury Traffic Collision
December 30, at 2:23 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 900 block of S. Monterey regarding a traffic collision. A vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign and collided into another vehicle. One party complained of pain and was treated by paramedics from the Monrovia Fire Department. The party at fault was issued a citation.

Grand Theft from Unlocked Vehicle
December 31, at 12:37 p.m., a resident in the 200 block of E. Hillcrest walked outside his home and discovered the inside of his unlocked vehicle had been ransacked. His cellphone and jacket were missing from inside the car. This investigation is continuing.

Petty Theft
December 31, at 1:07 p.m., a customer of a hardware store in the 1600 block of S. Mountain left his wallet in his shopping cart then left the store. An employee found the wallet and placed it in their lost and found, $700 cash from inside the wallet was missing. This investigation is continuing.

House Fire
December 31, at 1:55 p.m., residents in the 200 block of E. Pomona reported a house on their street was on fire. Officers and the Monrovia Fire Department responded. Officers made sure the house on fire and surrounding homes were evacuated, while the Fire Dept. extinguished the flames. The fire was caused by one of the resident's children doing a science experiment which sparked flames at him and the curtains in his bedroom. The child's eyebrows were singed, but the family refused medical care.

Non-Injury Traffic Collision
December 31, at 2:14 p.m., callers reported two motorists collided into one another in the 1100 block of E. Huntington. Officers responded and found no one was injured. The driver who was found to have caused the collision was issued a citation for the driving violation.

December 31, at 3:57 p.m., a motorist reported he just collided into another motorist in the intersection of Greystone and May. Officers responded and found no one was injured. Both parties did not desire a police report, but only exchanged information.

December 31, at 5:11 p.m., an employee of a hardware store in the 1600 block of S. Mountain reported a male subject had stolen tools then fled in a vehicle. Officers responded to the area but could not locate the suspect. This investigation is continuing.

December 19 at 11:58 a.m., two vehicles were involved in a collision near the intersection of Mountain and Central. One of the parties involved complained of pain and was treated by paramedics from the Monrovia Fire Department. Officers arrived and completed an investigation.

Grand Theft Auto
December 19 at 1:18 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 400 block of N. Ivy. The victim reported his vehicle was stolen between 11:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. while he was doing yard work. Officers arrived and searched the area. This investigation is continuing.

December 19 at 3:35 p.m., officers were dispatched to a business in the 100 block of W. Foothill. A female subject exited the business without making any attempt to pay for the merchandise. The subject was detained outside the business by officers, an investigation revealed she had outstanding warrants for her arrest. The subject was arrested for the theft and per the authority of the warrants and taken into custody.

December 19 at 7:54 p.m., a caller reported a vehicle had struck a motorcyclist near the intersection of Evergreen and Mountain. Officers responded with paramedics from the Monrovia Fire Department. An investigation found the motorcyclist had failed to stop at a posted stop sign. He was transported to the hospital for treatment.

December 19 at 10:02 p.m., an officer stopped a bicyclist for a vehicle code violation near the intersection of Lime and Mayflower. An investigation revealed the subject was in possession of drug paraphernalia and a controlled substance. The subject was arrested and taken into custody.

December 20 at 10:36 a.m., officers responded to a residence in the 900 block of E. Huntington, the caller reported he was hiding in his room because gang members were trying to kill him. Officers found the subject and an investigation revealed the subject was under the influence of a controlled substance. He was arrested and taken into custody for a sobering period.

Vandalism
December 20 at 8:16 p.m., officers responded to the 100 block of W. Walnut regarding a vehicle vandalism. The rear passenger window of the vehicle was shattered. An investigation revealed the window had a small hole in the center and no entry to the vehicle had been made. This investigation is continuing.

Domestic Violence
December 20 at 8:32 p.m., officers responded to a domestic dispute at a residence in the 200 block of Montana. The male subject had left the location prior to officers’ arrival. The victim said she was involved in an argument with the subject when he physically assaulted her. The subject is on parole and his Parole Officer was contacted. Charges are pending.

December 21 at 2:43 p.m., two vehicles were involved in a collision near the intersection of Olive and California. One of the parties involved complained of pain and was treated by paramedics from the Monrovia Fire Department. Officers arrived and completed an investigation. Shoplifting – Suspect Arrested
December 21 at 4:00 p.m., officers were dispatched to a business in the 100 block of W. Foothill regarding a shoplifting. The store’s Loss Prevention Officers had detained a female subject for concealing items and exiting the store without any attempt to pay. Officers arrived and an investigation was conducted, the female subject was arrested for shoplifting.

December 21 at 5:12 p.m., officers were dispatched to a business in the 100 block of W. Foothill regarding a shoplifting incident. When officers arrived the subject had been detained by the store’s Loss Prevention Officers. The subject refused to provide his name and did not have any identification. The subject was arrested for shoplifting.

December 22 at 1:10 a.m., an officer on patrol in the 600 block of W. Huntington stopped a vehicle for a vehicle code violation. The driver displayed symptoms of being intoxicated and an investigation was conducted. The driver was arrested for Driving Under the Influence.

Hit & Run Traffic Collision
December 22 at 7:05 a.m., a caller reported a driver collided into a parked vehicle near Peck and Live Oak. The driver fled the scene without exchanging information. He abandoned the car a block away then walked away from the area. This investigation is continuing.

Vandalism
December 22 at 8:06 a.m., officers responded to a call in the 400 block of Genoa regarding a vandalism. A resident reported that the mailboxes at her condominium complex all had the locks broken sometime during the night. It is unknown if any mail was stolen from the boxes. This investigation is continuing.

Animal Problem
December 22 at 10:16 a.m., an officer was patrolling Library Park in the 100 block of W. Lime, when he saw a dog on a leash bite a female subject who was holding a small dog. Paramedics responded and treated the bite on the victim, the victim refused to go to a hospital. The victim took her small dog to an emergency vet, as it was injured as well. The Pasadena Humane Society responded and completed an investigation.

Vandalism
December 22 at 7:09 p.m., a vehicle vandalism was reported in the 500 block of W. Huntington. The caller reported that when he returned to his vehicle, someone had keyed his vehicle and left an eight inch scratch down the passenger side. This investigation is continuing.

Shoplifting
December 22 at 10:38 p.m., an employee from a store in the 1600 block of S. Mountain called to report a male subject had left the business with unpaid merchandise. Officers responded and searched the area but were unable to locate the subject. This investigation is continuing.

Theft
December 23 at 8:11 a.m., officers were dispatched to a residence in the 600 block of E. Lime. A resident walked outside his home and attempted to drive to work. He discovered someone had stolen the catalytic converter from his vehicle during the night. This investigation is continuing.

Shoplifting
December 23 at 8:23 a.m., officers responded to a business in the 1600 block of S. Mountain regarding a shoplifting report. Security personnel for the business reported a male subject had just ran out of their store with power tools that he did not pay for. Officers responded to the area but could not locate the subject. December 23 at 2:30 p.m., Loss Prevention Officers for a store in the 100 block of W. Foothill reported a female subject had stolen items and was being detained. Officers responded and conducted an investigation. The suspect was arrested and issued a citation in the field.

Non-Injury Traffic Collision
December 23 at 2:47 p.m., a motorist was traveling in the 400 block of W. Huntington when her car's tire went flat causing her to hit the curb. Her car flew over the curb and into the air landing upside down on top of a parked car in a parking lot. Officers responded and found she was not injured.

Vandalism
December 23 at 3:23 p.m., an officer was dispatched to a business in the 200 block of W. Maple. The owner discovered one of the windows to his building had been broken sometime during the weekend. It did not appear as if anyone had crawled through the window to get into the building. This investigation is continuing.

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspect Arrested
December 24 at 2:46 a.m., an officer patrolling the 400 block of W. Foothill stopped a UHaul box truck for a vehicle code violation. An investigation revealed the male adult driver had a suspended license and the female adult passenger was on probation for forgery. The passenger admitted to being in possession of drug paraphernalia and a controlled substance. The driver was cited for driving on a suspended license and the U-Haul truck was impounded. The female passenger was arrested and issued a citation in the field for possession of narcotics and drug paraphernalia.

Wanted Person – Suspect Arrested
December 24 at 10:42 a.m., a red pickup truck that was wanted by the Pasadena Police Department in connection with a robbery in their city was located by an officer in the 2000 block of S. Myrtle. The vehicle was stopped and both occupants detained. Pasadena Police detectives arrived shortly thereafter and arrested both subjects.

December 24 at 7:40 p.m., officers were dispatched to a business in the 1600 block of S. Mountain regarding a shoplifting report. Security personnel for the business reported two male subjects in their 30’s had just taken $700 worth of merchandise before fleeing in a vehicle. Officers responded to the area but could not locate the subject. This investigation is continuing.

Domestic Violence
December 24 at 11:50 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 1800 block of Eighth regarding a domestic violence incident. A female subject reported her live-in boyfriend had just strangled her during an argument. Officers responded but the suspect had already left the area. This investigation is continuing.

Vehicle Burglary
December 25 at 1:23 a.m., a caller reported she discovered her vehicle’s driver side window had been smashed and her purse was taken while it was parked in the 700 block of S. Shamrock. Officers arrived and reviewed video surveillance. This investigation is continuing.

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia / Warrants – Suspect Arrested
December 25 at 3:54 p.m., a caller reported seeing a male subject on a bicycle chasing after a female subject who was running east in the 100 block of E. Evergreen from Myrtle. Officers responded and located the female subject. The female stopped and saw the officers then began running from them and refused to stop. Officers recognized her from past encounters, an investigation revealed she had two warrants for her arrest. Officers were able to apprehend her, she was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. She said no crime had occurred between her and the male subject who was never found. She was arrested per the authority of the warrants and taken into custody.

December 25 at 4:15 p.m., several callers reported two vehicles collided into one another in the 800 block of W. Huntington. Officers responded and found one driver complained of pain. Paramedics from the Monrovia Fire Department provided assistance, but the driver refused to be transported to a hospital. The driver who caused the collision was issued a citation

Drive Sober

Arcadia Police sent a reminder that through New Year’s Day the Arcadia Police Department will have more officers on patrol looking for drivers suspected of being under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. I'm sure Monrovia PD will also be on the lookout.

December 12 at 12:42 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 500 block of W. Colorado regarding a report of possible drug activity. They arrived and contacted a male subject to the front of the location. The subject walked away from officers and discarded methamphetamine. He was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and released with a citation to appear in court on the charges.

Shoplifting / Possession of a Controlled Substance / False Information – Suspects Arrested
December 12 at 4:18 p.m., an officer was on patrol in the 700 block of E. Huntington when he saw a female suspect run out of a business who was being followed by store employees. The suspect entered a vehicle and fled the area. A traffic stop was conducted and the suspect admitted to the theft. She was arrested and taken into custody. During the booking process, it was discovered she also had methamphetamine hidden on her person. A passenger in the car lied to officers about his identity and was also arrested for providing false information.

December 12 at 4:44 p.m., a resident in the 700 block of S. Alta Vista called police to report a male subject had taken packages from her neighbor’s porch. Officers arrived and detained the suspect. The packages were located and returned to their owner. It was discovered the suspect also had several warrants for his arrest. He was arrested and taken into custody.

December 12 at 7:12 p.m., an officer was dispatched to a residence in the 800 block of W. Olive regarding a family member causing a disturbance. The caller stated that when he came home that evening his brother was outside yelling. He told his brother to come inside and be quiet, but they became involved in an argument and the police were called. The investigation revealed the brother had warrants for his arrest. Once officers arrived, he was detained and arrested for the warrants.

Theft From a Vehicle / Fraud
December 13 at 8:59 a.m., a resident in the 800 block of W. Walnut called police to report his wallet was stolen from his vehicle. His credit cards were used at several business locations. The investigation is continuing.

Vehicle Burglary
December 13 at 11:58 a.m., a resident in the 500 block of Sombrero called to report his vehicle had been broken into while it was parked in the driveway. A window was smashed on the vehicle and a canvas tool bag containing tools was taken from inside. Investigation continuing.

Residential Burglary
December 13 at 1:29 p.m., police dispatch received a call from a resident in the 200 block of Melrose stating his neighbor’s home had just been burglarized. Four male suspects in a white Kia arrived and went around to the back yard. The suspects were wearing masks or hoods and they left carrying bags of belongings out to the waiting vehicle. The witness did not call police right away as he was on a conference call. The home owner responded to the location. Entry into the home was gained through a window in the back yard. Investigation continuing.

December 13 at 4:15 p.m., an employee from a business in the 100 block of W. Foothill called to report a subject was being detained for shoplifting. Officers arrived and discovered the subject also had an outstanding warrant for his arrest from parole. He was arrested and taken into custody.

Grand Theft Auto
December 14 at 2:12 p.m., a vehicle was reported stolen from the 100 block of W. Chestnut. The victim parked his vehicle the day before and when he returned the following day, his vehicle was gone. The vehicle was entered into the stolen vehicle system. Investigation continuing.

Injury Traffic Collision
December 14 at 2:41 p.m., an injury traffic collision occurred in the 400 block of W. Foothill. A motorist was parked in a stall with the driver's door open. She was standing next to the door when another motorist attempted to park next to her and struck the driver's door mirror. This caused the door to swing back and hit the other driver on the head. She sustained a minor laceration. Monrovia paramedics arrived on scene and treated her for her injuries. The party at fault was issued a citation.

Grand Theft Auto – Suspect Arrested
December 14 at 5:24 p.m., an officer was patrolling the area of Myrtle and Duarte when he was notified of a stolen vehicle traveling ahead of him. Officers located the vehicle as it was entering the 210 Freeway at Myrtle, heading west. A traffic stop was initiated and the vehicle exited at Santa Anita and yielded. One female suspect was taken into custody. Investigation continuing.

Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
December 15 at 2:14 a.m., an officer was patrolling the 100 block of W. Foothill when he saw a vehicle commit a traffic violation. A traffic stop was made and the driver was contacted. The driver was found to be intoxicated. After field sobriety tests were conducted, the driver was arrested for DUI. He was taken into custody and held for a sobering period.

LASD Bomb Squad Response
December 15 at 10:21 a.m., a resident in the 500 block of N. Magnolia was gardening when she came upon a grenade in her backyard. She picked up the grenade, placed it into a cement pot and called the Monrovia Police Department. Officers had the residents evacuate the home. LASD Bomb Squad was notified and responded to the location. The grenade was found to be inert and was removed. No other evacuations were needed.

Shoplifting / Warrants – Suspects Arrested
December 15 at 2:01 p.m., an employee from a business in the 500 block of W. Huntington called to report two male subjects had concealed jeans on their person and exited the store without any attempts to pay for the merchandise. They were detained by loss prevention. Officers arrived and learned that one of the subjects had outstanding warrants for his arrest. Both subjects were arrested and taken into custody.

Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
December 15 at 11:38 p.m., an officer was patrolling the area of Primrose and Palm when he saw a vehicle traveling on the wrong side of the road. A traffic stop was made and the driver was contacted. The driver was found to be intoxicated. After field sobriety tests were conducted, the driver was arrested for DUI. He was taken into custody and held for a sobering period.

Grand Theft Auto – Suspects Arrested
December 16 at 7:53 a.m., a caller reported their vehicle was stolen while it was parked in the area of Fifth and Duarte. An officer responded and completed a report. Shortly after the report was completed, Arcadia Police Department located the vehicle and the occupants were arrested.

Suspicious Person / Warrant – Suspect Arrested
December 18 at 12:34 p.m., security for a business in the 1600 block of S. Mountain reported a suspicious male subject in their parking lot who they recognized as stealing merchandise from one of their stores in another city. As officers responded, the suspect fled in a vehicle without taking any merchandise. Officers stopped the suspect and a computer check revealed he had a warrant. He was arrested and taken into custody for the warrant. His identity was provided to the neighboring police agency for their theft investigation.

December 18 at 1:09 p.m., a caller reported a suspicious female loitering in the south alley in the 400 block of W. Foothill. Officers responded and located the subject. A computer check revealed she had two warrants for her arrest. She was arrested and taken into custody.

Fraud
December 18, at 1:38 p.m., an elderly female resident who lives in the 300 block of W. Palm received a telephone call from a male suspect who said he had her daughter in jail with a bail for a large sum of money. He told her if she wanted her daughter out, she would have to pay the cash bail. The victim went to her bank and withdrew the requested amount. The suspect met her at her house and she gave him the cash. This investigation is continuing.

Injury Traffic Collision
December 18 at 3:33 p.m., a traffic collision was reported at the intersection of Foothill and Fifth. Officers responded and found both drivers had minor visible injuries and paramedics responded. Both subjects were transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
