Protest planned at Trader Joe's Headquarters

Members of the animal activist network, Direct Action Everywhere (DxE), will hold a protest at Trader Joe’s Monrovia headquarters, at 800 S. Shamrock Ave., on Nov. 24-25, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days. The demonstration is to protest the company's relationship with Petaluma Poultry, which the group accuses of cruelty to chickens. DxE is particularly objecting to the verdict in the trial (news account here) of Zoe Rosenberg, whom the group said was rescuing suffering chickens, but whom a jury found guilty. She faces anything from probation to 4-1/2 years in prison.

  1. This is absurd. The nutter who burglarized the farm and took other's property is a simple (in several ways) criminal. And the "activists" are trying to say she isn't? And the City is allowing this?

I can't wait for the next edition of BLM riots when buildings burn and the City sits on its fatuous woke ass, watching.

Do you wonder why sane productive people are leaving CA?

I am thrilled I have taken my intellectual and financial capital to a place far away from this kind of narcisstic "activism". Your state is collapsing and this is what stirs Looney Tunes activists and playpen level hysteria.

You have some good company, though. Tehran, Iran is two weeks away from running out of water due to consistently stupid choices by the mullahs and local government there. Like south CA, any rain that does fall goes away as "waste", and the aquifers are emptied. The city is subsiding about an inch a year.

And what do the mullahs say? "We are suffering due to veiless women and inadequate religious piety..."

That's about as close to reality as this "protest" (public masturbation of egos by useless people).

  2. Here's an idea for something to get worked up about.

fta (From The Article): Armed men attacked a Catholic boarding school in northcentral Nigeria's Niger state in the early hours on Friday, abducting 215 students and 12 teachers, according to Daniel Atori, a spokesperson to the Niger state chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria.

The predation of islamists is on-going and worldwide. If they haven't any more Jews to kill, they go to the next infidels on their list, religious Christians. History proves already when they run out of religious Christians, the islamists will start on any other infidel, to include "godless" communist/socialists.

The overthrow of the Shah in Iran is illustrative of this undeniable truth. The local and foreign communists who helped the mullahs overthrow the Shah thought they would have a seat at the table for a "New" Iran. Once the mullahs had squeezed all they could from these useful idiots, the hit teams went after them. The communists who survived were the ones who got over the border before the hit teams found them.

Do the chicken heads even understand this issue?

I reckon not. I reckon most people in Monrovia buy "diversity" too deeply to remotely understand there might be an issue here. We can disagree if there is an issue, but are these people even aware there might be one?

    I reckon not.

    1. Henry, for someone who loves to brag that you've left California, you sure do love to comment here like you still live here.

Do yourself and the rest of us a favor and actually move on with your life.

Your comments are at best conspiratorial, and not a single person reading what you write here takes you seriously.

Brad, it is also an embarrassment on your part that you allow these loony comments to remain up on your blog. I've already largely stopped following lately, but having these comments up just further reduces any credibility this blog once had.

    2. I’m try to allow pretty broad expression in the comments. I have tightened up a bit by disallowing anonymous comments, but I don’t see a need to restrict free speech more than that at this point.

  3. Sosean, you speak for all readers here?

I was born in CA, spent 55 years within a 20 mile radius of Monrovia (the last 18 in Monrovia). My kids were born in Pasadena. None of us are in CA at this point.

I know what the area was. I know well what it has become. Exactly because no one wants to know anything but what they find comforting.

"Conspiratorial" indeed. What plot is that, Sean?
