Lunch at Mimi’s

Lunch today at Mimi’s, at Huntington and Mayflower. Got the Quiche Lorraine for $13.99 and a cup of coffee for $2.99. It was delicious and filling - took some home for dinner.

Lunch at Cafe on Lemon

Lunch today at Cafe on Lemon, on the south side of Lemon (well, yeah) about a half block east of Myrtle. Got the Grilled Chicken Pesto sandwich for $11.95 and an iced tea for $2.95. I was going to be good and only eat half, but, well, it was so good I ate it all.

Lunch at Chicken King Express

Lunch at Chicken King Express, in the mini shopping center on the north side of Foothill just east of Mayflower. Got the Chicken Kebob Plate for $12.50 and a Coke for $1.50. Very nice.

Dinner at Stinkin Crawfish

Dinner tonight at Stinkin Crawfish, on the north side of Colorado a half block east of Myrtle. Got the three fish tacos for $8.99 and a beer  for $3.50 (happy hour price).  Nice.

Dinner at La Adelita

Got dinner tonight at La Adelita, on the south side of Colorado about a half block east of Myrtle. Got the soft taco with carne asada plate for for $10.95, and an ice tea for $3. Very nice.

Dinner at Cafe Mundial

Dinner at Cafe Mundial, on the east side of Myrtle a bit north of Colorado. Got the Seared Ahi for $24 and a beer for $6.  The ahi was pretty large and seared nicely on the outside and pretty red inside. Very good.

Lunch at London Gastropub

Lunch today at London Gastropub, on the west side of Myrtle about a half block north of Lemon. Got the fish tacos for $12 and a beer for $7. I liked it a lot.

Dinner at Cafe X20

Dinner at Cafe X20, on the north side of Foothill a bit east of Alta Vista. Got the Chicken Schawerma Wrap with a side of baba ghanouj (smooshed up egg plant) for $12 and a beer for $3 (half off today because it’s Thursday)  Very good!

Dinner From Hawaiian Barbecue

Got dinner tonight from Hawaiian Barbecue, in the Vons shopping center at Foothill and Myrtle. Had the Chicken Katsu for $6.99. No outdoor seating so we ate at home. Wow! Tasty and a very, very lot for not much money. I’ve got plenty left over for another full meal.

Dinner at Noodle Street

Dinner tonight at Noodle Street, in the Vons shopping center at Myrtle and Foothill. Got the Shrimp and Pork Dumplings with Chives for $9.80 and a hot tea for $2.80. Nice.

Dinner at Mikomi Sushi

Dinner at Mikomi Sushi on the east side of Myrtle a half block south of Lime. Got the Spicy Pork for $15.95 and a small beer $4.95. It came with tempura and a green salad. Everything was very good!

Lunch at Taqueria Diablo

Lunch today at Taqueria Diablo, at the corner of Myrtle and Olive. Got one carne asada taco for $2.50, one chorizo taco for $2, and a cantaloupe agua fresca for $5. Loved both tacos, though the carne asada was my favorite. The agua fresca was great as well.

Dinner from Hon Sushi

Got dinner tonight from Hon Sushi, on the north side of the Vons parking lot at the corner of Foothill and Myrtle. Got the Monrovia Roll (how could I resist) with tempura shrimp, crab meat, avocado, salmon and cucumber and stuff for $13.95. It was very tasty.

Lunch from Peach Cafe

Got lunch today from Peach Cafe, on the north side of Colorado near Ivy. Got the Chicken Pesto Salad with cornbread for $11. Tasty.

Lunch from The Monrovian

Got lunch today from The Monrovian, at the corner of Myrtle and Colorado. Had the Chicken Pesto Sandwich ($10), and it was excellent - moist, flavorful and Big! I was thinking of saving part for dinner but it was just too good.

Lunch from Cafe de Olla

Got lunch today from Cafe de Olla, a fairly new restaurant on the west side of Myrtle about mid-block between Lemon and Lime. Very clean and modern interior. Got the Chicken Chipotle Sandwich with a side of fruit for $10.95. Great! Just right spicy.

Dinner from Cafe Mundial

Celebrated the end of 2020 with dinner from Cafe Mundial, on the east side of Myrtle half a block north of Colorado. Got the Salmon Filet for $22 with a side Caesar Salad for $5.  It was a good finish to a bad year.

Lunch from Jimmy John’s

Got lunch yesterday at Jimmy John’s, in the Huntington Oaks Shopping Center. Got the Beach Club (turkey, provolone and avocado) on wheat bread (also comes on French bread).  $12. Very nice!

Dinner from Luscious Dumplings

Okay, this is embarrassing. This photo is of what is left over after we ate it all. I forgot to take a picture of all the food listed below before we started eating (I think I was anxious to get to it), but the dumplings looked like this - but there were lots and lots more of them. 

Anyway, got dinner from Luscious Dumplings, in the shopping center on Duarte Road at Sixth.  Got Angus beef rice bowl; Angus stewed beef noodle soup; pan-fried chive pockets; boiled chive, pork, egg and shrimp dumplings; pan-fried chicken dumplings; pan-fried pork dumplings; and steamed soup dumplings. Used DoorDash. Each item was about $11. Cost for food was $76.50, plus tax, a service fee of $11.48, and a driver tip. It was indeed luscious.

Dinner from Jake’s Roadhouse

Got a Family Barbecue Dinner for $55 from Jake’s Roadhouse, on the east side of Myrtle a bit north of Olive. We chose tri tip and ribs. It came with six sides and muffins. Very tasty. I especially liked the ribs.
