Lunch at 38 Degrees
Lunch at 38 Degrees, on the south side of Colorado about a half block east of Myrtle. Got the Roasted Chicken Sandwich with lentil soup as the side from the lunch menu for $10 and a beer for $7. Delicious!
Lunch at Popeye’s
Lunch at Popeye’s, Cajun style fast food near the corner of Huntington and Magnolia. Got the Cajun Fish Combo with cole slaw and an iced tea for $8.29. This is definitely fast food and for fast food it was fine.

Lunch at T Phillip’s
Lunch at T Phillip’s, at Myrtle and Colorado. Got the Pulled Pork Quesadilla for $13 and a beer for $6.50. Cheesy, porky, and very tasty!- Brad Haugaard
Breakfast at Jake’s Road House
As you can see, I got a bit eager and ate half my eggs before remembering to take a picture. Anyway, had breakfast at Jake’s Road House, on the east side of Myrtle just north of Olive. Got the sausage and eggs plate for $9.95 and a coffee for $2.95. Nice, filling meal, good service.

Lunch at Noodle Stars
Lunch at the new Indonesian/Chinese style Noodle Stars, on the south side of Huntington behind the Burger King. Got the Chicken Satay with peanut sauce and rice cakes for $8.95 and a “Stars Special Drink” (Es Mutiara Pelangi) for $5.75. Very tasty. I especially liked the drink, made of various tropical fruits. - Brad Haugaard
Dinner at Basin 141
Dinner at Basin 141, a new sports bar at the southeast corner of Myrtle and Lime. Got the Black Angus Basin Burger for $13 and a happy hour beer for $4. The atmosphere is bright, lively and modern. Nice service and my burger was excellent. - Brad Haugaard
Thanksgiving Dinner from Mimi’s
Had Thanksgiving dinner at home, but the feast was from Mimi’s, at Huntington and Mayflower. We got a meal for 8 to 10 people for $104.99. A whole turkey, gravy, stuffing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, cranberry apple relish, two carrot nut loaves and a pumpkin and a pecan pie. Excellent. Dinner at Cafe Mundial, on the east side of Myrtle about a half block north of Colorado. Got the seared Ahi for $24 and a beer for $7. That was a big Ahi steak!, and nicely cooked. Tasty. Very nice service as well. - Brad Haugaard
Dinner at Mahan Indian Food
Dinner at Mahan Indian Food. This is the former Noor's, near the southeast corner of Foothill and Myrtle. Got the Chicken Tikka Masala for $15, naan bread ($3.50), rice ($3), and a big beer ($9). I liked it ... a LOT. And it was enough for both my wife and me. It was served family style so what you see in the picture is just my first helping. Very friendly service as well.

Noors Becomes Mahan Indian Restaurant
Noors Indian Bistro, at the southeast corner of Foothill and Myrtle, has been bought out and is now Mahan Indian Restaurant, according to a post on Facebook by the purchaser, Sagar “Sage” Sharma.

Dinner at Hon Sushi, on the north side of the Vons parking lot. Got the two item dinner bento box with chicken katsu and spicy tuna rolls for $14.50 and a small beer for $4.50. Very good and filling. - Brad Haugaard

Dinner at Rudy’s Mexican Food at the corner of Myrtle and Colorado. Got the two-item combination with beef taco and chicken enchilada for $10.95. Very tasty. - Brad Haugaard

Big Shrimps is gone, replaced by Stinkin Crawfish, on the north side of Colorado a half block east of Myrtle. I got the Catfish lunch special with an iced tea for $10.99 (drink included). It was good.

Lunch at Chipotle
Lunch at Chipotle, on Huntington in the Huntington Oaks shopping center. Got a Carnitas Bowl for $7.50 plus $2.10 for guacamole and an iced tea for $2.05. I pushed the lettuce aside a bit so you could see the good stuff but it’s still hard to see. Very fresh, tasty and filling.

Dinner at 1776, on the east side of Myrtle just south of Lemon I’d heard burgers are no longer on the menu. Yup! They are indeed gone. Got the Cuban Sliders for $10 and a beer for $7. My sliders look a bit different, but I guess that’s because they’re Cuban style. Other sliders look like mini- burgers. Anyway, it tasted fine.

Dinner at La Adelita, on the south side of Colorado a half block east of Myrtle. Got the Deluxe Oven Buritto with chicken for $9.95 and an ic d tea for $2.95. Excellent! Burrito was stuffed with chicken and very tasty. - Brad Haugaard
