Arcadia is NOT interested in supporting access into Monrovia from their Wilderness Park. Fire Cadets have been climbing the fence to the Care-Takers home just north of the CITY's gate across the previous Miller property, at the Reed and Baze property.

I believe there is another way to the north at FS gate around and down to the Elkins property which then can tie up with a bike path on the LA County Flood control property to Foothill Blvd in Arcadia just east of First/Highland Drive, Arcadia.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10749492705479958180noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-225097338021040513.post-37730899057320865772014-02-07T14:23:47.478-08:002014-02-07T14:23:47.478-08:00So weird that the whole City Council agrees with y...So weird that the whole City Council agrees with you, yet they do nothing! 14 years is insane. We have followed the sporadic communications put out on the status of the hillside open space. We are aware of some of the legal issues and the temporary closure due to an endangered plant. As you pointed out, it is long since time that the public should get better access to this area. As a minimum, there should be public hiking/biking/equestrian access on the Truck Trail all the way to Arcadia Wilderness Park and a trail from Highland to Cloverleaf. Ideally, also a trail beyond Cloverleaf below the Truck Trail to Briarcliff or Ridgeside to allow a loop hike from either end.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
